QMO is one of many restaurants in the hip Ship Street. I have tried quite a few of them but QMO is a new one. Focusing on Spanish tapas style food. Boyfriend and I noticed they were offering a special dinner and wine pairing menu. For $388, you get one starter, one first course and one main plus three tasting size glasses of wine. Cucumber Rumble Cocktail ($88). While wondering what to order, we started off with cocktails as it was still happy hour. Boyfriend had this. I wasn't particularly fond of it as I think it tasted like dishwashing liquid but boyfriend said it was fine. It was lychee, cucumber drink mixed with sake and rum.

Antiage Mojito ($88).  I ordered this and I liked it a lot more than his. It was a raspberry mojito. So it was sweet and fresh with mint at the same time. Afterwards while flipping through the menu, tey now offer mojito for $50 on Wednesday! What a deal!

They gave us snacks to go with our drinks. Pretty nice touch. It was crackers with an egg and slice of tomato. Just something to tide us over.

Starter : Hokkaido Scallop Trio  Comb. As boyfriend wanted to have wine and I couldn't drink that many glasses, we chose only one 3+3+3 menu and I ordered a la carte. This is the starter of scallops three ways. Grilled, mousse and tartar. A pretty presentation of scallops. Each were different. Though I think the tartar version could have used a bit more acidity. This was paired with a Domaine du Pre Semele Sancerre. A white wine with fruity undertones. I felt it was a bit too acidic.

First Course : Grilled Squid with Garlic and Parsley. I liked this a lot. The squid was grilled perfectly. It was fragrant with the taste of garlic and parsley. Quite possibly my favorite of the night. It was paired with a Domaine du Pre Semele  Sancerre as well.

Main Course : Mussels, shrimp, tomato pot-au-feu with fried whitebait. A very tasty and hearty soup, I liked it enough. There was plenty of fresh tasting mussels and shrimp. The addition of whitebait gave it a nice crunchy texture when tossed into the soup. This was paired with a Henri Weber Reisling. I liked this wine a lot more. More sweeter in taste. It went well with the broth.

Duck Confit ($128). This was a special dish of the day and only found on the blackboard. So, I decided to order that. Duck was so soft, the meat literally fell off the bone. It was so good. It was drizzled with a very sweet balsamic vinegar glaze that I  felt was a bit unnecessary.

Raspberry Creme Brulee ($78). We ended dinner with dessert. A creamy creme brulee with crackling sugar top.

Tiramisu ($78). Boyfriend wanted the tiramisu. Quite good with a rich velvety mascarpone cream and espresso soaked cake.

Moscatel Dessert Wine ($78). We ended with a dessert wine as I do love dessert wine. Yes, I'm a sweet wine type of person. This was super sweet and went well with the dessert.

We had a few drinks and casual food. The 3+3+3 wine pairing set is pretty good deal and everything complemented well. The food was delicious. A lovely little tapas experience.
