Cheung Sha Wan may seem off the beaten path for a burger, but it actually isn't. This area may have a lot of Chiense restaurants (with a huge amount of hot pot places) but they also have a rather popular all day breakfast place and a popular lobster roll place. So burgers are obviously not far behind.Fast Taste was a bit of a walk but boyfriend was determined to try it out. Menu is in English and Chinese. It is cash only and there is no 10% service charge. They do have sets but it's only before 6 PM. But the set is only a free drink. After 6 PM, the drink is not free. This is rather strange.
Along with burgers, they also serve other food like pasta and salads.
As we were only here for the burger, we decided to share one as I wasn't too hungry.This is the Fast Taste Special ($98). A beef patty, wagyu beef patty, bacon, scrambled egg with black truffle, rocket, tomato and double cheese. As we were sharing, they were decent enough to cut it half for us. The burger came with a little bit of salad on the side.
The burger was a bit hard to devour all in one bite as it was pretty tall. I couldn't really distinguish between the regular beef patty and the wagyu patty. They tasted pretty much the same. It was not seasoned enough and was bit dry. I never had a scrambled egg in my burger and I don't think I'd really add that on a burger again. It didn't do anything but make it utterly messy. There was also a piece of bacon that was crispy so that was a bonus. The cheese was just processed cheese so not really that interesting.It wasn't a great burger but more on the average side. For this price, I can get a way better burger elsewhere.
