Came with others to try, as we all love Hong Kong Fish Balls. My 1st priority was to order the 魚扎 - a type of wrap using highER quality fish but this was replied bluntly as unavailable. No problems, so how about 魚皮? NOPE, as if I'm bothering her by asking. The 魚蛋 were quite dense and obviously without much dough unlike the commercial mass-producted versions. Yet, they're rock solid but not in bouncy type of way, but they were just like 牛丸's! Apart from the textural problem, It lacked ANY fish taste believe it or not - this was extremely shocking to me! I could get way better fish balls in some other HK restaurants and this has nothing on some of the local Malaysian Chinese or Cantonese restaurants in Australia I eat at (well Chiu Chow and Fujian Chinese both excel in fish balls too, don't forget!) . Unbelievable for such the hype here
魚片 was slightly better but not exceptional, it was 得昌 standards at best and again lacking fish taste. The other balls were ordinary, even the 花枝丸 lacked Squid taste - even relative to commercial ones. On the Positive Side, the 魚皮餃 were NON-COMMERCIAL ones, which is good - the inside was mainly pork which wasn't too oily. Overall, these are better than the Taiwanese and local frozen Commercial versions, finally......
Beef Briskets? Not very exceptional but edible but has no place in a Fish Ball shop.
My biggest problem with the whole thing? The 河粉 tasted and smelled of either realy bad quality rice or were previously Cockroach infested during its storage, I barely took 2 bites and gave up on these obviously 'unfresh' or 'unhygienic' batch of noodles. AND even if they were fresh, they were way too over-boiled and falling apart. RUBBISH. The 粗麵 my friend got and which I took a bit off to replace my bad rice noodles were a bit soft but much better.
I think the Soup Base was ok in that it had very little MSG influence - I'll rather it be bland than saturated with MSG. It could do with some more 冬菜 or Seaweed influence than I expected though.

OVERALL - HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED, PLUS ITS QUITE EXPENSIVE HERE. THE SERVICE BY THE LADY WAS REALLY IMPOLITE MORE THAN ON ONE OCCASION.
SCORE: "3.0" for NEMO FISH BALL AND FRIENDS. "- 5" for RICE NOODLES.
