朋友常常掛在口邊說想吃梳乎厘班戟,無論在日本定香港周圍都想吃。之前行開銅鑼灣,朋友已經每次都說很想進去這間餐廳,奈何排隊情況太嚴重,每次都打退堂鼓。不過,近來街上食客少了,這次竟然不用排隊,所以直接進了去。My friend is a big fan of souffle pancakes, always keeping looking out for them no matter we are in Hk or Japan. 因為每人最少要點一樣東西,我們兩人點了原味班戟加最便宜的茶(都要48大元)。
There was a minimum order of one item per person. We were not too hungry so we decided to order their original pancake plus one tea although it costed as much as $48.
排毒茶detox tea
第一樣上的是茶。好香的薄荷味,飲落也有羅勒同其他豐富的香草味,又不怕飲完睡不著,不錯。(謎之音:是外面買回來的茶包,當然沒問題啦)不過收這個價錢但又給我看到是茶包茶,好像不是太好喔……
The tea arrived first. Nice fragrant smell of mint and tastes rich with mixture of basil and other herbs, and there was no need to worry about sleeping disorder (well, it's purchased tea bag, of course it's nice lol). But given it's price, I don't think customers want to see they are drinking tea from a tea bag...
原味班戟original pancake
朋友話我們這次吃的是姓梳乎厘的班戟,所以我當初期望有日本吃到的梳乎厘班戟的感覺。我們沒有餐桌禮儀地搖了搖碟班戟,它就可愛的搖翻幾下。不過,吃落就不是那種很綿很多泡泡的梳乎厘類型,反而有點接近半熟雞蛋的口感。再看看餐單,原來比我朋友fake左,它不是姓梳乎厘。
As my friend said we were going for souffle pancakes, I actually expected fluffiness just like those in Japan. Well, this dish of pancakes did cutely sway a bit upon shaking, but they were not the kind of bubbly fluffy pancake. The texture was a bit like semi cooked eggs but do not have the lively style of souffle. I looked at the menu again, ok, it's not souffle pancake. Faked by my friend...
雖然自己搞錯造成期望落差,不過我很欣賞它的味道。很多班戟其實不夠蛋味,有些更用死甜扼殺了蛋的生存空間。這碟卻平衡得很好,夠甜得來又有濃香蛋、雲呢拿同奶油味,感覺就像舊陣時好吃的雞蛋仔一樣正!
Nevertheless, I appreciated its taste a lot. A lot of pancakes taste too light or just carry too much sugar which actually dispels the stage for eggs. This dish in contrast had a pleasant strong smell and taste of egg, vanilla and cream. It wasn't too sweet but created a paradise like good egg waffles in good old days.
醬料方面,視乎你喜歡什麼啦,我朋友都可以接受那個密蘆卡蜂蜜,但我始終覺得班戟要跟楓糖漿才夾(似足某快餐店),給我再高級的蜂蜜,不夾就是不夾。
As for the sauce, whether you like it depends on your preference. My friend was fine with the honey, but I am just too indulged in maple syrup so there was a divide between us. I believe I like pancakes from a certain fast food shop mainly because maple syrup matches so much better with pancakes than other sauces.
有個圓圓的,像雪糕球的東西托住薄荷葉。這次不是我朋友造成的期望落差,而是舊牛油的外表實在太似雪糕球,今次是廚師欺騙了我。不過班戟的襯托下,牛油反倒有點酸,又唔鹹唔淡,不是我杯茶,所以我很環保地邀請我朋友把其餘的都吃掉。(咪做大簁鬼)
Below the piece of mint looked like ice cream, but no, it was a piece of butter which I didn't like. It appeared a bit sour in the middle of nowhere when placed with the pancakes. At the end I asked my friend to consume it all. (Don't be a Big Waster)
當沒人排隊時,環境很正(老闆求你不要打我)。食客可以透過玻璃墻的廚房看到廚師努力炮製食物。而我最喜歡的是檯面的瓷磚,好靚啊!不過檯上的假植物要清潔一下。
I liked the environment a lot (When there was no queue). The kitchen with glass wall let us appreciate the work of chefs. And the pretty tiles on the table! They are my cup of tea! The fake plants on the tables needed a bit of cleaning though.
侍應似乎習慣了很多人排隊所以要很快很忙。雖然忙亂中仍保持禮貌,但太緊張了,放鬆d啦,第日多番人出來更要放鬆先應付到啊:
The waiters and waitresses seemed to be used to serving people really quickly while there were long queues outside. They seemed quite tense yet polite, but I didn't think they enjoyed the work as much as the chefs. I hope they can relax a bit more if the queues get longer when the more foodies get back onto the streets in future:
