I've twice been to OCCO. The first time I didn't actually end up staying. The waiters were leaning against the wall outside, looking bored and giving a very unwelcome feel, and as I looked at the menu outside I just got this "we don't care" feeling, so I went to Jaspas instead, part of the same chain but run 100% differently.I gave OCCO another chance recently and we were the 2nd customer to be there, so it was very quiet. It only reaffirmed my original instinct. The service lets this place down which is probably why it's usually pretty empty. Dealing with the manager to make a booking was painful, arriving 45 minutes later and getting our seat was painful, 15 minutes later asking what we wanted to order where I had to reply "perhaps we can have a menu first please?" was not exactly inspiring, and then the "manager" plonking down a very hot plate and meal directly in front of my very young daughter was worrying.After over a decade in Hong Kong, my wife had to reason with me why I should not refuse to pay the automatic 10% service charge, which I still feel bitter about having to pay in this case.I would recommend Piccolos next door, and Jaspas, but I have nothing much good to say about OCCO other than the food was OK. However the experience when you go out dining is not just about the food....Oh yeah, they really should invest in some uniforms. Wearing "Cru" uniforms when that place shut down close to a year ago doesn't exactly make me feel that the owners really want this place to work.
