From it’s interior design, menu and wait staff, I once thought it’s a new outlet of Maxim’s group. After checking with one of the waiters proved me wrong. Noodle LAH! does not belong to any of the dining groups and it positions itself clearly by its name –noodles specialist and serves mainly Asian (or Singaporean/Malaysian in particular where people ended every sentence with a “lah!”) cuisine.
On their soft launch, their full menu is yet to be finalized. Having said that, they still offer a variety of appetizers and pasta. They offer a combo set with appetizer, main course and drink at $100 which is very reasonable given the quality and location.

The name sounded more interesting than the food itself. Wonton pastry sheet was used to wrap the prawns for deep frying. However, the pastry sheet was not crispy enough. The diced fresh pineapple as base was refreshing but would be better if it turned out as a dip for the prawns. The current serving didn’t allow me to eat them both at the same time.

The tomato flavour first caught my attention when it was delivered on my table, and it was eye pleasing too! With no or just very little tomato paste added, the soup base was on the sour side, however, I like the natural and generous chops of tomatoes in the bowl. The grilled beef was marinated in sweet soy sauce together with Asian herbs. A very good mix of flavour and colour.

Homemade egg noodles was used in the house. Between chicken and beef, I opted for grilled chicken breast. With some 5 or 6 pieces, they’re lightly grilled and were not very tough. A standard laksa with bean sprouts, cabbage, fried bean curd, etc.

Claimed to be originated in Brunei, this iced citric drink was made with lime, lemon and preserved plum. For me, it tasted more like calamansi. A good thirst quencher in summer.
e) Mocha – 8/10

To my surprise, coffee drink was not too bad. This mocha was rich in chocolate while still able to maintain a balance with coffee. Quite stomach filling though.
