Saw a buffet dinner deal on Groupon priced at $138 including several entrees and a choice of main dish out of three options. It seemed quite appealing so I bought it and decided to give it a try. Before going I thought the so-called "buffet" would be open style, ie you go and get whatever you want from the salad bar. It wasn't really like that. They would serve you everything listed on the set menu first and if you'd like more you can ask them. Got a glass of complimentary apple juice to start of
Before going I thought the so-called "buffet" would be open style, ie you go and get whatever you want from the salad bar. It wasn't really like that. They would serve you everything listed on the set menu first and if you'd like more you can ask them. Got a glass of complimentary apple juice to start off with, and the entrees came shortly after. There were four prawn cocktail shots, some thick cut fries, prosciutto and ham, mini grilled sausages and a selection of sauces to dip in. In addition there was also a bowl of green salad in balsamic dressing. Although the food was plentiful, none of it really amazed me. After all, this is more of a bar than a restaurant, so food is probably not their priority. The portion size was really generous though, and service was friendly.
I chose fish and chips as my main and I regretted it soon afterwards. The fish was well-fried with a crispy batter but I didn't have enough appetite so I was only able to finish one out of the two fillets. Should probably have ordered the garlic lasagne (other option) instead. Felt like I wasted a lot of food because it was a bit too much for one person. I'm not sure if this offer is still available on Groupon but it's quite a good-for-value deal. It's a nice place to come with several friends to chill over drinks and finger food while listening to live music. Most of the clientele are international visitors, with barely any locals. If you want something different for a change this should be up your alley.
