Arrived at 5:56pm for my 6:15pm booking. Restaurant opens at 6:00pm, bar is full, so nowhere we can sit or stand comfortably... so killed 4mins just walking up and down Ship Street, then we are seated.

Started with sparkling water and an aperitif. The Bloody Mary is spicy and delicious. The garnish was a bit ordinary, could have more than just a cherry tomato. But happy with the taste.

The menu was well explained and the waitress answered well to all my questions. And the service is good all through the meal.

Menu is small but interesting. Pricing is ok, tiny portion for starters, tasting size... 2 of us ordered 3 starters, 1 main and a side.

Whipped mackerel with salmon roe and pretzel is delicious. It comes with 2 pieces of pretzels, after finished, the waitress offered another 2 pieces, very generous.

Corn and buttermilk fritter, just a small dish, little bite but taste sensational.

Pork neck muffin is tasty, one mini muffin cut into half, juicy pork neck in between crispy muffin, just a little bite but the after taste just lasts...

Cut of the day for main, a 600g Australian Wagyu bone in ribeye, medium rare, nicely cooked, great meat quality and beautifully sliced.

Burned cabbage with pecorino goes great with the steak, but a little too burnt, and the cut is too big so it’s too burnt outside and little undercooked inside...

A glass of white to go with the starters and a glass of red to go with the steak, wine is just ok...

A lovely meal, friendly staff, nice music, not noisy, ambience is ok, toilet is dry and clean... Overall is great. Love to come back again.

There are not many American barbeque restaurants in Hong Kong. Mr Brown is offering a 3-course lunch menu for only HKD148. The iberico pork muffin was super flavourful with grilled pork, cabbage, and mustard. We also loved the smokiness of the chicken skewer and the perfectly grilled picanha steak. But the star of the meal would definitely be the burnt cheesecake. Super moist and creamy inside - you have to order this!

I have walked in to Mr Brown at night but it’s always full. This Thursday I managed to get a booking at 6:30 so I grabbed it.I came here twice for lunch, very good value 3-courses dinner below $200. Pork neck muffin and Beef Brisket are the highlights and must-try. Portion is on the petite side and better for sharing.


For dessert, we had salted caramel with melted marshmallows and burnt cheese cake.

Both we excellent and ending the dinner on a high note.

Tips on getting table - there are two rounds for dinner, either 6:30 or 9pm

Disclaimer: this review is about two separate lunch visits to Mr Brown.Appetizer: On my first visit I had the smoked beef croquettes, which was too heavy and greasy and left me feeling stuffed for the main course. Disclaimer: this review is about two separate lunch visits to Mr Brown.

Appetizer: 
On my first visit I had the smoked beef croquettes, which was too heavy and greasy and left me feeling stuffed for the main course. So on my second visit I had the whipped mackerel instead, which was Mr Brown's version of hummus and served as a great dipping for the free bread that comes with your meal. The grilled tomato is also a great choice for those who want an even healthier option.

Main:
On both visits I had the grilled sea bass. The lentil puree and the fried enoki mushroom complemented the sea bass in terms of flavor and opposing texture, highlighting the softness and flakiness of the sea bass. I've also heard wonderful things about the smoked main courses, and look forward to trying them during my next visit.

Dessert:
I would recommend upgrading the dessert to the burnt cheesecake (+$48) because it was heavenly and leagues better than the sorbet, which was overly sweet and sour.

For $148 what you get is great especially when compared to the numerous places that offer food that is of lesser quality, portion and option with the same price.

its my 3rd time at Mr Brown and ordered the Chef's menu as usual. They serve you 8 different dishes from their menu (last dish is dessert).not good at remember taking photos for every dish but here's a couple of my favourite.whipped mackerel - one of my favourite dishes at all times. it is more than dipping for bread. this creamy "dipping" is heavily infused with mackerel and the ikura goes perfectly with it. don't have a picture here but their cheesecake is AMAZING. with persian lime and cherry. also there's little crumbs and adds a little crunch in your mouth. a perfect way to wrap the dinner up!

One of the best dining experiences that I have had in recent times. Beginning with a seamless and courteous followup call for a table reservation (on a busy Sat night no less), I was seated in a spacious circular lounge table in the front (sweet).We ordered all the recommended signature dishes and was amazed by the unique preparation and taste. The portions were sized just right (our fluffy whipped makerel dish was served with ample portions of freshly baked bread).The waiter was super friendl

my best recs includes 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙯𝙚𝙡 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙡, in which they blew us away with the amazing texture and combination. charcoal-coloured pretzels are solidly chewy, and with a whip of mackerel cream with popping ikura, this chewing, pokey, creamy texture just hits you in the face. the main dish 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝 also surprised us. unlike the seabass, which was slightly overdone and gave out a stale-ish scent and the wagyu which were a bit too raw for us, the chicken thighs, neglecting some roasted bits in the skin, were extremely tender. and of course, the 𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙠𝙚 wowed us all with its extremely dense cheesecake batter and this thorough consideration of including two lumps of somewhat bitter plum to counterbalance with the sweetness. stay tuned for an individual post for two of my favourite pics of the cheesecake captured!

如果有睇開Dining City搵食會知佢時不時都搞Restaurant Week參與嘅餐廳就會推出特別menu等大家用優惠嘅價錢試下餐廳出名嘅菜式早排有朋友碌碌下個網就發現Mr. Brown 入到餐廳 以木系為主佢係一間grill house所以特登整個open kitchen 俾客人望住啲肉燒呀燒今次我地就試佢Dining City$148嘅3 course lunch set仲包埋加一添前菜我自己揀左牛肉餡餅Empanada, Beef, Monterey Jack牛肉餡料好豐富 而且好多肉汁個醬汁尤其出色 有少少辣味 好開胃朋友就揀左Eggplant Carpaccio, Green Chilli, Yogurt相對其他前菜 呢個就清新啲主菜方面我就另外加左$40揀左豬扒Pork Chop, Polenta, BBQ ChilliMr. Brown果然係一間grill house豬扒烤得非常香 而肉係軟腍嘅最值得一讚係佢面頭嘅辣椒令到味道唔會好單調 朋友都係另外加$40叫嘅Sea Bass, Smoked Peppers, Cauliflower望落都幾吸引最後甜品有Cherr

這個燒烤牛扒是用咗巴西人喜愛的部位,牛臀跟背交界處的後腰部位,牛肉的皮層烤得脆口,中間是柔嫩嘅純紅肉,有柔嫩細致的口感。配埋個阿根廷青醬 (chimicurri sauce),非常好味😋

好甜的覆盆子口味雪葩配剛剛燒熱的蛋白餅,這個配搭很特別,一甜一淡,中和了太甜的雪葩味道,變得甜度剛剛好👍🏻

我會覺得這款芝士蛋糕有紐約芝士蛋糕的芝士濃度,但比烤焗的日式芝士蛋糕更鬆軟。食少少會覺得好好味,但食晒整件就會好膩,建議要同朋友 share食喔!

餐牌上有氣泡酒、白葡萄酒或紅酒可以揀,我哋就點了2杯白酒。我好喜歡這杯嘅甜度,不錯喔。

A bittersweet farewell happened at Mr Brown, a place I'd read about but had been meaning to try for a while. Hamachi appetizer was delicious, raw with a funky char grilled rub. We ordered off menu beef brisket but it was honestly not as good as the on-menu beef rib which we ordered as well not knowing it was a similar dish Char grilled cabbage was also delicious with a pungent aroma. Dessert baked cheesecake with raspberry sorbet is to die for, so rich and hearty. Perfect end to a dinner. Servi

A bittersweet farewell happened at Mr Brown, a place I'd read about but had been meaning to try for a while.

Hamachi appetizer was delicious, raw with a funky char grilled rub.

We ordered off menu beef brisket but it was honestly not as good as the on-menu beef rib which we ordered as well not knowing it was a similar dish


Char grilled cabbage was also delicious with a pungent aroma.

Dessert baked cheesecake with raspberry sorbet is to die for, so rich and hearty. Perfect end to a dinner.

Service was wonderful the staff so lovely. Id come again for the hamachi and cheesecake.

I booked Mr Brown for Christmas eve, and despite a minor set-back, I had an enjoyable experience.The decoration is classy with an emphasis on dark tones, and gives the feel of an upper medium end restaurant overall. Although I was expecting a christmas menu (which disappeared mysteriously from their website), we had instead the sampler meal that gave us an idea of the food served at the restaurant. In the end, 10 different small dishes took us through a breathtaking journey of culinary discovery

The decoration is classy with an emphasis on dark tones, and gives the feel of an upper medium end restaurant overall.

Although I was expecting a christmas menu (which disappeared mysteriously from their website), we had instead the sampler meal that gave us an idea of the food served at the restaurant.

In the end, 10 different small dishes took us through a breathtaking journey of culinary discovery. From the empanada to the pork muffin, along the way with some sea bass, smoked beef brisket and finishing with a delicious cheesecake, the dishes will definitely give you satisfaction.

The service was quite good also, and the waiters were not only attentive to our needs, but they would also introduce the dishes they were bringing.

The only setback was that whatever note was left on the reservation was ignored, but this seems to be a common problem to most restaurants.

Despite this, I am definitely recommending this place and will look forward to going there again.
