龍蝦沙律杯 ($88杯,兩位起)

先來一杯cocktail吧,不是酒cocktail,是龍蝦cocktail;當我匆匆忙忙來時,一坐下便有一杯冰凍的龍蝦是一件很舒服的事,當中的龍蝦又鮮又彈牙,十分開胃美味。

龍蝦柚子沙律 ($168)

另一道菜亦很清新,柚子配龍蝦,龍蝦鮮甜美味是不用多說,肉質亦很軟很彈,配上鮮甜多汁的柚子,而這沙律汁味帶酸甜,當中還有點辣,吃時更美味,我很喜歡。

我很喜歡喝冬蔭湯,這個有龍蝦的似乎更吸引吧;湯頭的濃稠度剛好,不會薄如水,亦不會厚如泥;鮮味十足,酸度和辣度亦剛好,香料味亦夠。(Must-Try)

燒龍蝦 ($268)

燒龍蝦很多餐廳都有,但不是每間都做得很好;這個龍蝦的上去有點瘦,但燒得很美味,非常香,龍蝦肉彈牙不乾亦不嚡,蝦味濃郁,入口帶juicy,不錯。

辣炒龍蝦河粉 ($188)

河粉十分彈牙,炒得乾身不油膩,當中加入了不少的泰式香料,充滿了泰式的風味;而龍蝦肉亦很彈牙,炒得很香;特別喜歡那些炸了的葉,份外的香口。

泰式香草乾炒龍蝦 ($388)

這個龍蝦炒得超香,肉質很嫩,廚師的功力真的很好,把龍蝦炒得剛剛好,不會有半點的嚡口感;用上了多種的泰式香料,辣度對我來說則剛剛好,百般滋味; 特別喜愛那蝦頭,充滿了濃郁的膏香,非常美味!! (Must-Try)

青咖喱龍蝦農夫包 ($388)

咖喱之中,最愛吃的便是青咖哩;這份青咖哩沒有加入大量的椰汁,輕輕的椰香更令人陶醉;咖哩中度的辣,對我這種喜歡辣但受不了太大辣的則剛剛好,充滿了濃郁的香料味;而那農夫包,吸盡了青咖哩汁,而麵包外層則很香脆;我很想一個人吃清整個包呢。(Must-Try)

吃過濃郁的食物後,要來點菜來清一清吧;顏色上很碧綠,看到都已經很想吃;菜炒得很軟很香,因為綠葉十分新鮮,所以吃時還能嚐到一點甜香。

接下來便到甜品了,先來糕點,紫紅色的為士多啤梨味,而綠色的則是椰汁味;個人比較喜歡椰汁味,糕身又軟又彈,煙韌美味,甜度適中,很喜歡。

這個的做法不難,但不明白為什麼很多餐廳都做得很難吃;這個很美味,充滿了椰汁香,而底下的西米亦做得剛好,不錯。

最後便到芒果糯米飯,我很喜歡吃糯米的食物,所以只要做得美味,我可以吃很多的;而這個糯米,煙韌得很,梛汁味亦香濃而不膩,撤了點芝麻更香口;而芒果亦香甜,熟度亦剛好,很喜歡! (Must-Try)

龍蝦,看似很易做得美味,但其實並不是的,要把肉質控制得不嚡口,蝦肉彈牙,保留鮮味其實都不是很易的;但Mango Tree的龍蝦菜式,每一道都做得十分美味,火喉亦做得很好,沒有一件龍蝦是嚡口的。

兩間分店都試過環境都很好是那種可以慢慢傾慢慢享受食物的地方有心理準備價錢比九龍城貴一倍左右不過換來是質素有保證的食物與飲品今次專程為芒果糯米飯再返來糯米飯是暫時全香港吃過最好飯不會太硬椰汁香香甜甜一個人可以吃一個!不過咖哩蟹令人好失望五百多元的蟹, 一邊吃要一邊吐蟹殼咖哩汁非常好吃但撈飯吃又要不停挑殼, 相當痛苦向侍應反映, 她說有很多客人投訴蟹沒有扑碎所以廚房搏命弄碎那又過份了吧餐廳應該取個中庸沒可能這樣吃一個咖哩蟹的若然之後有改善, 絕對值得為這兩道菜再幫襯

兩間分店都試過
環境都很好

有心理準備價錢比九龍城貴一倍左右
不過換來是質素有保證的食物與飲品

今次專程為芒果糯米飯再返來
糯米飯是暫時全香港吃過最好
飯不會太硬
椰汁香香甜甜
一個人可以吃一個!

不過咖哩蟹令人好失望
五百多元的蟹, 一邊吃要一邊吐蟹殼
咖哩汁非常好吃
但撈飯吃又要不停挑殼, 相當痛苦

侍應反映, 她說有很多客人投訴蟹沒有扑碎
所以廚房搏命弄碎

那又過份了吧
餐廳應該取個中庸
沒可能這樣吃一個咖哩蟹的

若然之後有改善, 絕對值得為這兩道菜再幫襯

因為工作太忙, 所以現在才有時間寫返之前的食評.今年母親節沒有大型慶祝活動, 媽咪唔想食中菜, 不如食泰國菜! 我在曼谷食過mango tree, 是一間又平又好味的餐廳. 這過江龍在香港開分店, 價錢一定冇曼谷咁抵食, 但母親節呢D大時大節又訂到位又冇要1個鐘後還枱, 所以諗都冇諗就決定去呢到!大約6:30PM 到, 得3-4張枱有人, 我地被安排坐入面window seat. 環境十分舒服寧靜. 每位母親送一杯特飲, 係荔枝+椰果, 我試左味, 幾清新好啱夏天飲!炸魚餅 - 很正宗泰式煮法, 有很濃的紅咖喱和香茅味, 不沾醬汁也很不錯.冬陰功 - 冬陰功係原煲上, 可分4-5碗. 店員主動幫我地分左直接碗上. 味道比較淡, 酸辣度不夠. 不過材料很豐富, 大蝦多肉多膏, 好多草菇同香茅, 基本上係料多過湯!青咖哩牛 - 青咖哩好rich 同creamy, 牛肉份量幾多, 好腍, 送飯不錯. 但我覺得冇乜辣味, 可能過多椰奶.大蝦炒金邊粉 - 我鐘意食pad thai, 所以去親泰國餐廳係必叫的! 呢間賣相不錯, 金邊粉幾幼幾滑, 炒得幾乾身, 配料豐富, 好多蝦!! 不過都係同樣酸

冬陰功 - 冬陰功係原煲上, 可分4-5碗. 店員主動幫我地分左直接碗上. 味道比較淡, 酸辣度不夠. 不過材料很豐富, 大蝦多肉多膏, 好多草菇同香茅, 基本上係料多過湯!

串燒沙爹 - 我地叫左半打豬牛雞, 燒得香口又keep 到D肉質唔鞋, 加上充滿花生味的沙爹汁, 十分惹味. 另外的醬汁應該係醋但我沒有試.

我地5人埋單大約$900. 這裡環境坐得舒服, 可以靜靜地傾計, 加上食物質數不錯. 講真我又唔覺得好貴. 咁當然冇得同曼谷本店比較吧.

Mango tree係香港都開左一段時間但一路都無時間品嘗,今日路經圓方夏日炎炎想食d清新d的菜式就決定試下棵芒果樹小妹大約8點去到,門外都有小量人等位因為小妹無預約,都預了要等陣好彩無幾耐已經可以入坐👍一坐底就急不及待要睇Meun (因為門口無得睇)雖然都預左唔平,但大部份菜式都$98up心裡當然覺得有點赤赤地但難得來到就食啦💪第一道 炸catfish魚鬆配青芒果沙律全晚最驚喜的一道青芒果可以平衡炸魚鬆的油膩炸魚鬆又可以平衡到酸辣汁的辣互相的味道配合得幾好第二道 冬陰功老實講個冬陰功就有點失望三個字 唔夠香係就係隻蝦幾大隻又多膏但冬陰功的酸辣香都俾唔到我第三道 蒜香燒雞不過不失,味道唔錯 但燒得有d乾最後一道 大蝦炒金邊粉聽過係mango tree必食都係不過不失係上碟有個蛋皮係靚d但個味就普通啦無咩特別,唔明解係必食食到最後實在太飽,所以無食到個芒果糯米飯其實mango tree食既泰國菜感覺都係較為精細唔係傳統的泰國菜可能係國際集團味道係偏向柔和如果係慶祝生日or其他特別日子係唔錯的選擇因為環境同氣氛都唔錯但如果你係想食傳統泰菜就可能唔係首擇

全晚最驚喜的一道
青芒果可以平衡炸魚鬆的油膩
炸魚鬆又可以平衡到酸辣汁的辣
互相的味道配合得幾好

係上碟有個蛋皮係靚d
但個味就普通啦
無咩特別,唔明解係必食

食到最後實在太飽,所以無食到個芒果糯米飯
其實mango tree食既泰國菜感覺都係較為精細
唔係傳統的泰國菜
可能係國際集團味道係偏向柔和
如果係慶祝生日or其他特別日子係唔錯的選擇
因為環境同氣氛都唔錯
但如果你係想食傳統泰菜就可能唔係首擇

With vistors in town from Thailand, we were on the hunt for what else?  Thai food!  Using open rice on my phone, I found Mango Tree which is really close to my apartment.  Being from the US, I'm not used to so many restaurants above the ground floor.As we exited the elevator into a darkened yet elegant hallway, I thought that perhaps we came into a place which was too fancy.  When we told them that we did not have a reservation, we thought that we would be turned away.  As it turned out, a table

As we exited the elevator into a darkened yet elegant hallway, I thought that perhaps we came into a place which was too fancy.  When we told them that we did not have a reservation, we thought that we would be turned away.  As it turned out, a table had not shown up so we were seated immediately.

Upon looking at the menu, I ordered the followng:  deep fried soft shell crab appetizer, vegetarian spring roll appetizer, yellow chicken curry, oyster beef (USDA), chicken pad thai and stir fried vegetables.  Each dish was very good, especially the chicken curry.  Just the right degree of sweetness.  I didn't eat the beef dish but my friends commented on the tenderness of the beef.  Chicken pad thai reminded me of the same dish I enjoyed in the US.  Order one bowl of rice because it is large.  The vegetables included broccoi, carrots, baby corn and oyster mushroom stems, I think.  Not sure what it was but it was all good.  the crabe looked like it was two crabs cut into parts.  Nicely seasoned and just the right amount to be an appetizer. Although if you ordered the crab and a salad, it would be perfect.  The curry had perfectly cooked pieces of chicken, carrots,onions and potatoes.  Can be eaten by one person with some rice would be yummy, yummy.  I love having a gravy/sauce over rice.  Trying to reduce carbs so just a couple of spoons of rice this time.

Our only disappointment was the mango smoothie.  I'm not sure that it was made with fresh mangoes as it had no flavor at all.  My friend had a coconut to drink. He really liked it as it tasted better than what he gets in Thailand.

由最底層的咸點食起,是泰式燒烤和炸物,分別有燒大蝦、泰式炸魚餅、炸蝦春卷、雞肉沙嗲,共四款。
     
紮實的泰式魚餅,有魚香,入口亦彈牙。燒大蝦是開邊上碟的,所以拿起叉子就可以食了。喜歡其鮮甜、飽滿彈牙的肉質。蝦春卷賣相美觀。外皮香脆,而內藏美味的蝦肉,吃得很滿足。雞肉沙嗲烤得不錯,仍保留到肉質嫩滑多汁,加上沙嗲香,相當惹味。

中層有兩款沙律,分別是木瓜沙律,以及泰式豬頸肉沙律。木瓜沙律將木瓜切絲,入口清新爽脆,加上微微酸辣的汁,相當開胃。而份量豐富的豬頸肉則爽滑而富炭烤香,香辣惹味。配合木瓜沙律來食,可平衡油膩感。

頂層甜點方面,有椰汁西米糕、南瓜吉士、芒果芝士蛋糕。椰汁西米糕一向是我心頭好。椰香夠濃,甜度適中,而西米更富有彈性,甚有水準。南瓜吉士軟腍香甜,亦很不俗。

而芝士蛋糕的芒果味很香濃,但芝士味就略嫌失色。不但老闆透露將會更換芝士蛋糕的供應商,相信水準很快會有改進。

泰式下午茶為兩人份,收費為 HK$368,假日同價。也就是說除夕、新年、情人節也都是這個價呀,很吸引吧?除開兩個人,其實幾抵食。
     
總體來說,在份量和味道上都不俗,值得一試,而這兒良好的環境和服務更令下午茶加分。吃厭了英式口味,換換泰式,Mango Tree 是一個不錯的選擇。

如果不喝sparkling wine也沒關係,Tea set裡面包了兩杯特飲,我點的那杯Lychee Smash味道清甜,又有粒粒荔枝肉,相當refreshing。

最底層的鹹點有炭燒大蝦、泰式炸魚餅、炸蝦春卷和雞肉沙嗲,還附有三款不同的醬料伴吃。當中我最喜歡雞肉沙嗲,就算不醮任何醬也很夠味,而且雞肉燒得嫰滑,一點也不乾;炭燒大蝦味道不錯,蝦肉肉質扎實,有少量蝦膏;炸春卷和魚餅很香口惹味。

中層的是兩款沙律,分別是木瓜沙律和豬頸肉沙律。木瓜沙律清爽,微辣吃起上來更開胃;豬頸肉沙律的份量超多,覺得份量可以減一點點,如果改為配搭生菜青瓜之類的感覺會更好。

最上層的甜品跟圓方的大同小異,南瓜吉士非常好吃,南瓜煮得很軟腍很甜美,越寫越想吃;另外芒果也很夠甜,而中間的芒果芝士蛋糕還好,但芝士味比較弱,像慕絲蛋糕多一點,而且餅底方面可以再扎實一點,現在略為有點鬆散。

Tea set兩位$368,聖誕節假期兩天也會供應,而且不會加價。下午茶通常是平日比假日便宜的,這裡就天天供應,而且價錢劃一,對於平日忙碌工作、又喜歡吃下午茶的上班族來說,不是一個喜訊嗎?

任飲的是來自智利的這款士多啤梨汽酒, 內裡包含了新鮮士多啤梨連肉果汁的. 倒出來時呈現著鮮艷的桃紅色, 入口感覺都幾甜, 酒味不會很突出, 士多啤梨味相對較強, 非常易入口. 而且酒精度只有8%, 就算不太嗜酒的女生喝上一整杯應該也沒問題.

整杯內全都是荔枝果肉, 更加入新鮮青檸, 薄荷及薑汁汽水混製而成. 大啖啜入口, 吃到的全是絲絲荔枝果肉, 甚有口感, 內裡更有不少薄荷葉, 喝起來帶著陣陣薄荷的清新, 感覺非常FRESH!
而下午茶套餐上來仍以一架三層示人, 底層有四款燒/炸物, 中層的就有2款沙律, 而頂層亦有三款甜品, 每款的份量都頗大, 就算當午餐吃要吃得飽都絕對沒問題.

先來吃個泰式炸魚餅, 只見兩件魚餅件頭都幾大, 而且圓碌碌漲卜卜的, 咬下去魚肉十分彈牙亦甚有厚度, 吃起來亦不覺乾, 啖啖肉口感不錯; 而炭燒大蝦開邊上桌, 但蝦頭部份燒得太過火以至出現全黑了. 不過望望隔離桌又沒這個問題, 看來是宅女不幸而已. 幸好蝦肉沒有烤焦, 入口仍是鮮甜彈牙, 不沾汁更能吃出其蝦肉的香濃味美. 炸蝦春卷大大條中間藏著整尾虎蝦, 咬下去外層薄脆, 最重要是油份不多, 口感不俗. 最後的雞肉沙爹燒至剛剛熟的狀態, 吃起來肉質仍是十分嫩滑, 雖然沒什麼肥脂, 但都算幾JUICY也烤得幾香.

再來兩款沙律, 口味一輕一重, 分別是木瓜沙律跟炭燒豬頸肉沙律

木瓜沙律以酸辣汁調味, 入口木瓜絲條條爽脆亦甚有辣勁, 如果當前菜吃非常開胃. 而重口味的就有炭燒豬頸肉沙律, 不要小看這一小碗的豬頸肉, 其實份量甚多, 片片燒得邊位帶點焦香, 混上泰式辣汁, 入口肉質柔軟而且油脂豐盛, 但吃多兩片後發現辣度甚為強勁, 忍不住也要喝點水後才能繼續.
最後的三款甜品也具份量, 分別是椰汁西米糕, 南瓜吉士跟芒果芝士蛋糕

先吃的是椰汁西米糕, 比起平常吃到的更為大件, 上層的椰漿十分香也不會太甜, 而底下的西米糕粒粒彈牙西米亦下得很足, 水準令人滿意. 南瓜吉士入口軟滑, 甜度亦不太高, 而底下的南瓜質地棉香帶點甜, 做得也算不錯. 反而芒果芝士蛋糕一大件, 上方的的芒果醬本來都幾香濃, 但底下的芝士蛋糕就做得太軟太淋, 口感像吃慕絲但芝士味又不突出, 餅底亦沒什麼口感, 實在有需要改進. 幸好旁邊有一大塊芒果肉, 雖然不是芒果當造期, 甜度正常的不會很高, 但酸度也不太強, 算是能挽回點分數.
不過這麼多食物每兩位才HK$368, 除開每人才百多元, 又可以任飲汽酒, 環境更是帶點高尚, 這樣划算的下午茶的確是很少見. 宅女胃口那麼大, 午餐沒吃就來進攻這個下午茶, 也覺得非常之飽.

食物大致都不錯, 而且也頗有泰國特色, 當中就有些瑕疵需要改善不過問題不算很大.
整體來說都算是十分抵吃, 最重要是這個下午茶假日或節日期間都有供應, 也不會特別加價.
如有興趣的話就要早點訂位了.

Free Flow Fresita Handpicked Strawberry Sparkling Wine
這便是任飲的Sparkling Wine,酒精度只有8%左右,顏色看上去雖然很紅,但味道沒有半點藥水味;這種氣泡酒,甜度是比較高,果味亦比較重,非常easy drinking;最喜歡它的外型,真的很美,令我想起了情人節。

泰式炸魚餅、炭燒大蝦、炸蝦春卷和雞肉沙爹
泰式炸魚餅份量十足,非常厚身,當中充滿魚和香料的香氣;而炭燒大蝦真的很棒,大蝦非常新鮮,肉質是爽口彈牙,蝦味亦濃郁,吃時沾上酸酸的汁醬,令到蝦味更突出更鮮甜。炸蝦春卷亦做得很好,外層非常鬆脆,蝦亦很大隻。雞肉沙爹亦同樣的美味,雞肉非常嫩滑,沙爹味亦濃郁,非常不俗。

木瓜沙律和炭燒豬頸肉沙律
吃過炸物後,是需要一些清新的食物來清洗味蕾;先吃木瓜沙律,用了泰式汁來伴,味道帶酸,非常醒胃;而炭燒豬頸肉亦做得非常棒,肉味十分濃郁,當中充滿了各香料的香氣;而且肉質亦很嫩,外層經過輕輕的炭燒,份外惹味。

椰汁西米糕、南瓜吉士和芒果芝士蛋糕
吃過鹹點後,當然要來點甜點吧;這塊芒果,充滿了那熱帶的芒果香,非常鮮甜,超級美味;而那件南瓜吉士的味道亦不錯,南瓜已經蒸至軟稔,而吉士的甜度亦適中,很喜歡;椰汁糕亦是我其中一款喜歡的甜點,而這椰汁糕充滿了椰汁香,當中的西米帶點彈牙;而芒果芝士蛋糕相對上沒那樣的美味。
這個下午茶餐,除了用超值來形容外,已經想不到其他的形容詞了;兩位只需$368,當中還包括了任飲氣泡酒,平日外出用餐,想任飲至少要加上數十元一位,所以能說不是超值之選嗎?
食物質素方面,Mango Tree的出品從來都是有質素保證的,所以絕對是一試無妨的。

The restaurant has a chic atmosphere with simple yet stylish interior.  The menu is extensive with the familiar Thai selections, but most dishes come with some unique twists.  The drinks menu also offer a variety of alchoholic and non-alchohlic drinks with unique Thai flavours such as lychee, mango and basil.

As we came in a large group, I got to try a variety of dishes.  Here are the most memorable ones:
 The Green Mango Salad with Softshell Crab was quite a novelty.  The green mango tasted fresh but the softshell crab was overwhelmed by the batter.  And the whole dish was too spicy as they put in too much chilii. 
The Tom Khar (coconut chicken soup) was rich and not too oily, which served as a good balance to the spicy salad. 
The Fish Curry arrived as a surprise as it came as a whole fish with the head raised.  I liked the light red curry sauce full of coconut flavour.  The fish was probably overcooked as the meat was a bit tough.  It also took a bit of work to fully debone the fish.  
The Green Curry (we chose pork) was perfect - it was full of flavours without being too heavy or spicy. 
I also loved the Crabmeat Omelette which you don't usually find in other Thai restaurants.  It was cooked perfectly with generous amount of crabmeat.

The dessert menu looked more interesting than the usual Thai offers so we ordered a few items to share. 
The Mango Sticky Rice was a popular dish.  I enjoyed the accompanying fresh mango more than the sticky rice itself. 
My favourite was the Homemade Coconut Ice-cream which was rich with lots of coconut flavour (better than the Lychee Ice-cream which was a bit too sweet). 

I guess their service has improved as it was better than what other reviewers commented previously.  All dishes arrived reasonably timely and our water was refilled frequently.

We ordered the catfish salad but it was too oily, we could only taste deep fried batter but none of the fish, and there were only a few measly pieces of papaya and wilted beans, so we asked if they can change it for a plain papaya salad as it wasn't really what we had expected. The chicken curry came but looked and tasted extremely like pork, so after asking a couple of the waitresses, someone finally took charge and proclaimed that it was indeed pork, and took another 20 minutes to return with the dish we originally ordered. The rest of the meal was palatable but unmemorable. For this price, I'd much rather go somewhere that I know has great food for a fraction of the price.

Green Curry with Chicken,椰奶味很香濃。香料也很足,能見到很多的金不換,咖哩的濃稠度是合適的,配飯吃很不錯。而雞肉也很滑,不會太老。

當夜幕低垂時,本來只有兩三桌的餐廳漸漸變得座無虛席,人聲漸吵,果然是城中熱點。本來想一試餐廳的signature甜品。但既已滿腹,還是留待下次有緣再試吧。

This restaurant was so comically bad, it inspired me to sign up for an Open Rice account just so I can write candidly to warn others about it. If you like to pay about $500 per person to have dinner plates literally snatched out from under you while you're eating, dirty dining utensils carelessly and noisily poured into your lap and your purse, and wait staff hovering around you like low-flying UFOs trying to chase you away from your seat to make room for others, then boy, have you found the right restaurant! Personally, I wouldn’t go back there unless every other restaurant in HK has been burnt to the ground or the end of the world, whichever comes first.

I've been to Mango Tree twice since it opened--once in the second half of 2012, and once today. While the food there is pretty good (as all the previous rave reviews must attest), I've previously been prevented from going there for gatherings because (1) I'm a rice fiend and (2) this place has one of the most outrageously expensive white rice in HK--nay, probably in all Asia. While the dishes themselves are pretty reasonably priced, the bowls of white rice seem to be priced as if they were dipped in gold and sprinkled with diamond dust. But I digress. That's not why I'm writing this bad review.

Anyway, today three friends and I decided to go for some Thai food, and made a reservation for the 6:30 seating at Mango Tree (one friend was craving for their curry crab dish so the rest of us caved). We were told that we'd have to wrap up dinner by 8 because that's when the second seating comes, and we figured 1 hour and a half is plenty of time to order and eat provided that the wait staff were efficient. We got to the restaurant at 6:30pm, and were seated after five minutes.

We asked for four coconuts, and although the waitress nodded enthusiastically and walked toward the kitchen as if she was going to fulfill our order, neither she nor the coconuts showed up ever again. I assumed they both disappeared into the Twilight Zone. We sent another waitress to chase after the first waitress, only to be told that the order hasn't been placed yet. That was weird. But anyway, by that point we've put in our food orders and the dishes were arriving with regularity, so we tucked ourselves in for the feeding frenzy.

The dining room started filling up by that time, so we found that (1) if you want to get the attention of one of the wait staff, you’d have to stand up and wave your arms around like an air traffic controller in order to be noticed; this may be because our table was tucked into a window recess, but still, vaguely disruptive to the dining process, even if I did get a good workout from that; and (2) the wait staff doesn’t seem to exactly speak English, because even though they appear to understand everything we said to them and walked off energetically with every apparent intent to carry out our order, most of them just never returned with the right things we asked for, be it chopsticks, clean dishes, fried rice orders…an unnecessary amount of time was wasted in our waiting for wait staff to serve us and repeating our orders after we realized that our orders weren’t understood, despite all appearances to the contrary.

Then, the comically bad happened. A member of the wait staff (she seemed very forbidding, like a cross between a maitre d’ at an outrageously expensive hotel and your Catholic high school English teacher who hates you personally) came up to me and asked me in a rather accusatory tone what dessert I’d like to have. I told her that we’ve previously ordered mango sticky rice. She then said okay, but pointed to the hands of her watch, saying “Now it’s 7:45pm, almost 8, we have to make way for the 8pm guests, so we can only give you one mango sticky rice order.” I was okay with it, because we were pretty full by that time anyway. So she went off. But as soon as she was gone, a swarm of wait staff seemed to descend from heaven and started snatching away our plates with warp speed, without bothering to even ask the perfunctory “are you done with that?” I had to stab at the pineapple rice bowl with my fork in order to stop one of the overly enthusiastic ladies from taking the half-full thing away from me, and friend A, who was sipping on his coconut, had his coconut lifted into the air when one waiter took the mat on which his coconut was resting. Then the friendly maitre d’ came back to our table and started to (purposefully I thought) loudly gathering all the silverware, getting the forks, knives, spoons and chopsticks to fly all over each other like some sort of bad construction accident, with a deafening din to match. We were all mesmerized by the display, but she bore our awed looks with becoming dignity. When she was done, I found a dirty chopstick in my handbag, which was resting on the floor next to my chair….I briefly thought about stealing the chopstick out of spite, but my better nature prevailed and I quietly returned it to the next server passing along.

The one dessert order we were graciously allowed to have arrived at last at the same time as the bill. We were allotted five minutes to eat the thing among the four of us, with two anxious waitresses hovering around us with concern and anxiety the entire time, and the maitre d’ shooting poisonous daggers at us across the room the entire time. We ran away from the restaurant at exactly two minutes to 8, ahead of schedule! Amazing escape!

The bill came out to around HK$1,800 for four ppl. Definitely not bad in terms of price, but I imagine the quality of service is likely to please even the most intense of masochists.

想揾間銅鑼灣泰國菜同朋友慶祝生日都幾頭痛, 又想好食又想環境好, 靜啲方便女子gossip gossip 一下.......突然諗起Mango Tree......Good wor.......貴就貴啲, 不過環境靜, 唔駛食兩輪, 自己都未試過Dinner, 就try try la......1. 先order 一杯drink, "荔枝特飲'.......荔枝味濃但好清新, 又開胃, 好飲到連粒荔枝都食埋........Good2. "柚子大蝦沙律".....柚子粒粒又大又肥, 睇見都想食, 味道酸酸辣辣好開胃, 不過我覺得辣咗少少........OK3. 小食 "燒豬頸肉".......燒得非常唔錯, 唔会太燶, 肉質又軟, 好似燒到剛剛熟, 肉仲有啲啲粉紅色.......Perfect 4. 主菜 "粉絲蝦煲" ........非常出色, 有3隻開邊大蝦, 味道非常鮮, 粉絲又多又入味......Perfect 5. 2. "柚子大蝦沙律".....柚子粒粒又大又肥, 睇見都想食, 味道酸酸辣辣好開胃, 不過我覺得辣咗少少........OK
3. 小食 "燒豬頸肉".......燒得非常唔錯, 唔会太燶, 肉質又軟, 好似燒到剛剛熟, 肉仲有啲啲粉紅色.......Perfect

4. 主菜 "粉絲蝦煲" ........非常出色, 有3隻開邊大蝦, 味道非常鮮, 粉絲又多又入味......Perfect

5. "菠蘿海鮮炒飯".......味道一般, 無乜特別........OK

總括, Mango Tree 環境唔錯, 食物Good, Service is Good too. 都可以說是鬧市中的綠洲la.......

This place probably has the most awkward service in Hong Kong. My server took my order wrong and then came back to correct it while chastising me for not being clear with my first order, she wasn't even joking. I'm used to rude service in China but we're not dining al fresco eating milk toast here, we're supposedly in a "modern, stylish venue."Our food came and all of our proteins were overcooked. We ordered the panag curry and the beef inside it was very tough and the flavors were not very brig

Our food came and all of our proteins were overcooked. We ordered the panag curry and the beef inside it was very tough and the flavors were not very bright. Our cashew chicken didn't have the vibrant thai flavors. The brassicas dish we ordered (mislabeled Baby Kale) was cooked well but tasted more Chinese than Thai.

Overall the experience was very disappointing all around in service and in food.
