Liked the decor and the interesting sink in the bathroom but that's where it ends for me! We were a group of 9 celebrating our friend's pending wedding so we were excited to try a new and trendy restaurant and was looking forward to the whole experience....boy were we in for an experience & not the good kind!
The whole experience was ruined by the complete lack of service and the restaurant's lack of acknowledgement that we are paying customers.
For starters, one of the waiters didn't even seem to speak English and wasn't Chinese so Cantonese or Mandarin worked when asked a questioned pretty much ran off to get someone else, what's that about! I noticed later on that night that the waiters would go through the daily specials with other tables but not with our table.
The staff do not seem trained at all - each time my friend finished her wine they would take the glass away without asking her if she wanted another so she had to keep asking for a new glass.
The waiting between courses was so long that the entire meal took over 4 hours to complete. Worse part, was that they left out 1 person's main completely & when we chased 4 different staff neither one of them came back to tell us what was happening and no apology. Finally got the manager who come over & still no apology until we asked for one and even then it was definitely not sincere and there was a lack of acknowledgement that they were at fault. All we got was the dessert for free but only after we sent back the bill as the Manager had said 'he would take care of it' to us earlier! Our final bill was about $4,500.
Food wise, not impressed either - everything was pretty average that I've had better in other establishments so there isn't really any attraction for me to return.
As a group we had the following:
Starters
- Scallops (quite a small portion for the price of $125)
- Ceviche (Tuna - little spicy, ok. Geoduck - sour to taste)
- Onion Soup (good even layer of cheese on top of the soup which was piping hot)
- Bone Marrow
- 10 layer Salmon
- Flatbread (tasted like pizza, nice)
Mains
- Iberico Ham (large portion that can be shared by 2, tasty)
- Organic Sirloin Steak (had better, little tough)
- Salmon Steak
- Sea Bass
- Gnocchi
Dessert
- Chocolate Torte (not bad)
- Banana Macadamia Semi-Freddo (tasted a bit like creme caramel)
On a sidenote I had the Fresh Lime Soda with extra lime and all I tasted was Soda Water.
Overall don't recommend this place whether it's for the food or the service.
