Went to Light Radiant unexpectedly because the Italian restaurant I wanted to try was closed at the moment. It was around 0315 when I arrived, and there was no other customers as the restaurant is normally closed after 3pm.The boss(I guess) asked me what I would want to have to see if they can still make it, and he was nice to talk to as I asked him to recommend the more popular dishes to me. I was not that hungry but really it was time to eat as it had been so many hours after breakfast. When I saw they had a pea soup on the menu, I subjectively assumed that it would be quite thick after mashing so I ordered the Grilled Portobello Mushroom with Salad, which is one of their signature dishes.I should say it was only because of my own expectation that it would be thick so that I was a bit disappointed when the soup came. First it's because of the portion; only half of the bowl and second, it was rather watery. But whatever, I wouldn't be that full and could have the quota for dessert thenSo I just forgot about the soup as it was nothing"neither special in taste"though organicNice mustard sauce!I really like mustard but normally it's often used to accompany meat, so I can hardly include any in my diet. Portobello mushroom is seemed as a meat substitute by many because of its texture and strong taste among all kinds of mushroom so it's really nice to have mustard sauce on it=] It was made right after order and serve right after cooked so you can enjoy it while it's still staying fresh and at its best taste! And don't overlook the veggies! It's just easy to see that they were exceptionally fresh. Definitely better than most of the salad deli even at peak hours! As I was not sure if I'd like the dressing, I asked to have it on the side, which was served in the little cup. It tasted surprisingly refreshing because of the lemon and vinegar in it and of course it did its job well that it really matched with the salad=]As the dish I had here was really light, though comforting and refreshing, I went to Grassroots Pantry afterwards to have a dessert to 'complete' my late lunch

Eat less meat. Cows fart far to much for our planets' good. Organic + Vegetarian restaurant. I am absolutely happy with just having veggies. But guys might need a taco from the nearby taco place after lunch here hah. Environment:Airy and uncluttered. No air conditioning for a change. There are only about 20 seats in the restaurant. It is quite spacious. Service:Friendly and engaging owner who...explained the chalkboard menu to us. Pretty much identical to the one I saw in May. You still can't replace coffee/tea with mango lassi. Mehhh. Food:$110 lunch sets: daily soup + main + coffee/tea It's a bit messy but basically you have salad, soba noodles, penne, tofu burger, portobello to choose from. We shared. Correction - we were supposed to be sharing but C didn't have much of an appetite so I ended up having 1.5 portions. ._. ...but it was enjoyable and not too guilt-inducing. Organic tomato soupQuite yummy. Not the usual kind of diluted russian borsch you'd expect. This is a substantial and filling soup, with a starchy vegetable cooked into it - probably potato. Very hot when it arrived . It was quite thick, but there wasn't any cream I believe - just the starch being cooked into the soup. There was also some pureed tomato?Portobello burger with potatoes and salad in mustard sauceI realize I cannot be friends with people who don't like mushrooms. They're so innocent and lovely. Such an unassuming, humble little fungus with earthy aromatic flavours. Succulent. Healthy. Filling. Anyway. The mustard dressing was pretty good, and mild, so it didn't overpower the grilled portobello. It was also thinned out a little for the mushroom to soak up like a sponge. It works! The side veg consisted of lettuce, large baby tomatoes(?), sliced cucumbers, capsicum, and whatever you see. The potatoes were delicious - the owner told us that they were organic. I suppose it did make a significant difference this time. Mm, mum would've loved this, because mum loves potatoes. Cooked till perfection - not overcooked such that they became too powdery, nor undercooked such that you need to force your knife through them. It was very starchy - the cubes of potato gave the knife a little resistance, yet yielded obligingly once you made the first incision. I stole quite a bit off C's plate. Hehee. The portobello itself was large, juicy, well seasoned, and a delight to eat. Organic penne with mushrooms and saladGotta say that the penne was a bit bland but the absence of dressing made this dish much lighter and healthier than regular pasta dishes. It's good that C had some mustard dressing to spare - so I dipped the penne pieces into the small pool of mustard dressing. Pasta was slightly undercooked, but was done in salt water sprinkled with a bit of pepper - really simple method to have pasta. But there were fat slices of a smaller breed of portobello mushroom (i think?) generously mixed with the pasta. Those were cooked with much dedication too. You can tell they did not hea. The compulsory salad was satisfying. Herbal tea - for stress relief consumed by C. Herbal tea - for immunity boost, for me. Didn't really like it coz it tasted of chamomile. I'm skeptical towards the medicinal/healing effects of tea. But I guess tea can't harm me. Conclusionnce in a while with an objective to have lunch as mindlessly as possible, okay. But was lunch worth $110...? I would think not. Could get something more satisfying for a lesser amount in SoHo, where rent is like...But I suppose one has to pay a price, literally, for health. What society is this...?
