10月21日,我們的紀念日。

去年的七週年也有在這裡寫下食記,
轉眼又一年了,不知不覺間,OP為我們在一起的足跡寫下了印記,
今年踏入第八年,本來不想太過花錢去慶祝(蘋果茶有另外的計劃呢~),
所以就選了食評不多,價錢也不貴的Le 188° Restaurant & Lounge ,
說實話當然也因為這餐廳景觀一流~
環抱整個維多利亞港,完全是滿分。

悠悠的星期天。
Le 188°在酒店的41樓,
人流不多,正合我們的意,基本上九成的坐位也能看到海景,
檯子之間寬敞有足夠空間,加上落地大玻璃窗,高樓底,和維港的晴空一同映入眼簾,
未開始吃好感已經悠然而生。
午餐有兩種選擇,自助餐配咖啡或茶$248,自助餐及主菜配咖啡或茶$298,
我們選的是包主菜的那一款。
侍應送來頭盤麵包,小小的不會佔胃太多空間,小型法包較脆,微暖,
較特別的塗包包不是普通的牛油,
像是味道帶點鹹香的三文魚醬,好吃就是。

從冷盤沙律開始,冷盤和甜品各佔一張長桌子,
除了火腿,還有生蠔﹑三文魚﹑吞拿魚刺身﹑翡翠螺﹑風乾火腿...
以這個價錢,實在意料之外,
當然,質素是不能和千多二千的六星酒店相比,
但論新鮮程度和種類,著實已經"交足功課"。
蘋果茶和男友也喜歡吃鵝肝,或是鵝肝醬。
而這裡,有的是鵝肝醬,還有烘脆的小小多士,
個人覺得多士比較硬和乾,咬下去脆得碎碎一桌子都是,
所以拿了鵝肝醬,塗在頭盤的小法包上,
甘香回味和麵包的牛油香混和在口腔之中,
一吃便是四個。

之後開始吃冷盤,
翡翠螺味道較淡,但肉算是肥厚新鮮,合格。
生蠔是小的品種帶海水味,因為一口可以吃一隻,蘋果茶encore了好幾次。
長檯子上還有數款熱盤,白汁蘑菇酥皮盒看樣子以為是放涼了的,
原來酥皮暖熱吃下去鬆化有層次,又是一小口能吃一個,不佔胃裡太多空間。
烤什菌青瓜味道淡淡,但正好清清舌頭。
雖然另有乾火腿,芝士,薯仔沙律,和壽司魚生冷盤,
但這個時候,蘋果茶的心和眼睛已經飛到甜品桌上,
Classic Tiramisu,走傳統不花巧的路線,
是想用實力取勝嗎?深啡色的唂咕粉撒滿最頂層,
Mascarpone Cheese軟滑,吃到最底層是咖啡酒漿和濕潤的蛋糕,
帶微甜的咖啡酒香。
這小杯的Tiramisu造得很有層次感,
沒有死甜的味道,反而得了我們的歡心。

蜜桃批和濃朱古力蛋糕是吸睛注目之作,
蜜桃批Size不大,較喜歡它的鬆脆餅底,
乾身富蜜桃香,牛油味隱隱滲透其中,吃一件也沒有滯膩口感。

72%的朱古力,乍看之下還以為是普通的黑朱古力,
用上金鉑作點綴,拿起來像是有一點軟身,蘋果茶以為是溶掉或是錯覺,
卻原來這是朱古力啫喱,雖然味道不醇但新意十足,
小小的甜品,看得出別有用心,值得加分。

吃著吃著,主菜也要上埸了,
蘋果茶選的是LAMB SHANK mash potato,glazed shailots and rosemary sauce
(燴羊膝配馬鈴薯﹑香煎乾蔥及迷迭香汁)
,
一看,有一點失望了,
沒錯賣相其實絕不失禮,精心的配菜還能以精緻去形容,
但羊膝麻,端上來卻是已經去骨,零零碎碎的羊肉包裹在圓筒型配菜之中,
就是有一點"剩肉"的感覺,更像羅宋湯﹑雜菜湯內的牛肉碎,
或是失去了羊膝應有的主菜壓場之感,
味道方面,也缺失了羊肉的騷香,
迷迭香汁較鹹,只有馬鈴薯茸打得綿滑稍為好吃,
無疑主菜令人失望了,
其實主菜羊膝也經過精心設計,卻弄巧成拙。

男友點的U.S.BEEF Striploin ratatouille,pan-fired polenta and thyme jus
(美國西冷配法式燴什菜﹑煎栗米茸及百里香汁)
,
蘋果茶試吃了一口,論賣相和食味都比較大路,
卻反而簡單討好。

午餐還有驚喜的地方,
就是來自瑞士的Movenpick滑滑雪糕。
整體來說,只是主菜部份有點失色,
對於我們能一起手牽手走過八個年頭,
來到這裡,停下腳步,
看看藍藍的天空,和在頭頂上飄過的白雲,
咀裡還舔著冰凍濃滑的朱古力味Movenpick,
覺得人生就和所有甜酸苦辣的味道一樣,
知足常樂。

能在一起嚐的味道,
都甘之如飴,值得一嚐。

草莓奶凍用小杯子上,白色的奶凍夠滑,不太甜,紅色的草莓漿加點色彩和生果味道,小吃無妨。

喜歡這裏的環境,看著優美的維港景色,與新知舊雨把酒言歡,豈不快哉?

I must agree this restaurant has one of the best views of Hong Kong; it is awesome. Located on the very top floor of Harbour grand Hong Kong, the restaurant surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows on 3 side, we were amazed by the panoramic Harbour view from this restaurant. With recommendation for our waitress, me and my wife we both decided to order 8 courses tasting menu. We were quite impressed by the presentation of the food. XD, my wife even bothered to take picture “which of course she seldom does”

1st Course:
Shrimp Tartar with oscietra caviar and oyster gel
(Shrimp, caviar and oyster providing a taste of the sea)

2nd Course:
Mille-feuille of Duck Foie Gras
(Very interesting dish, the creamy texture of the foie gras was well balanced by the fresh taste of figs and port wine jelly)

3rd Course:
Pan-fried Scallop
(The taste of tomato chutney complimented the sweetness of the scallop, great dish)

4th Course:
Truffle Custard Soup:
(This soup was unique; truffle custard, morel, green peas and asparagus greatly combined to create a perfect harmony)

5th Course:
Granny Smith Sorbet
(Refreshing

6th Course
Fillet of Sea bass
(Fish was cooked to perfection and served at right temperature)

7th Course
Lamb Saddle
(Was juicy and tender and well accompanied with the lamb shank ravioli)

72% Fondant with passion fruit sorbet
(Very refreshing and an excellent way end to a wonderful dinner)

Their service staff was well-trained and good product knowledge; they introduced all the dishes I ordered while serving the food. Something that really impressed me was the pleasant smile from our waitress which made us feel very comfortable. “Friendly and professional”.

I am glad that I took my friends recommendation to visit this restaurant and we have already decided to go there for dinner on Chinese New Year (See the Firework)
. It was a memorable experience.

又一失敗O之作.....佢個texture係好似雪糕咁既 但D味就實在太奇怪 又有D咖啡味又有D燶味.....不知所謂!

我唔比喊面係因為整體服務同環境為餐廳加番唔少分!

我覺得下次都係上黎飲野好過啦....有LIVE BAND performance 又有outdoor area with really nice view!

趁三送一優惠完結前來試吓個lunch buffet。其實係半自助餐,頭盤和甜品任食,主菜就三選一。有魚、有牛、有pasta。有個同事係素食者,雖然三樣主菜都有肉,但同waiter要求改一份要素食,他們都能提供得到,值得加分。室內環境無得彈,一望無際嘅海景,令人吃得很愉快。麵包籃做得很出色,我最欣賞那個用墨魚汁做的豬仔包,上枱時仍暖暖脆脆,咬落又香又軟,好好味。頭盤選擇都算多,有生蠔,但期望唔好咁高,始終花兩百蚊任食,貨色一定唔係五星級。主菜我叫咗Halibut。味道和賣相一百分,惟略嫌份最比較細,要食返多啲甜品填肚。甜品之中,最驚喜係Macaron任食。味道中有幾款比你選。出面閒閒哋要十幾廿蚊一件,喺呢度可以盡情食,好有滿足感。

We were seated next to the window that had the direct view of TST and Central Ferry Terminal. We were seated and our drinks orders taken swiftly. What surprised me was the speed (or lack of) at which the drinks were served. When you enter the restaurant, you attention is naturally drawn to the spectacular view of HK in a clear night! We were seated next to the window that had the direct view of TST and Central Ferry Terminal.

We were seated and our drinks orders taken swiftly. What surprised me was the speed (or lack of) at which the drinks were served. Thankfully the beautiful night scene made up for this.

All of us ordered the 7 course tasting menu (for 788++ each).
1) Caviar - the dish arrived in a crepe cone with a dollop of sour cream and topped with a spoon full of caviar. Caviar was fresh and burst when you bit into it. Sourcream that it was paired with did not overpower and complemented the taste.
2 Option 1) Pan fried Foir Gras - this was served with a warm foam of truffle and a side of crispy toast. The foir gras was crispy on the outside and melted in our mouths when you took a bite into it. Perfectly done. Only didn't like the toast that was served with the foir gras as it crumbled once you cut into it
2 Option 2) Seared scallops with roasted pork loin - The scallops were cooked to perfection but my complain would be the texture of the pork loin. It crumbled too easily and I didn't enjoy the mix of the 2 textures.
3 Option 1 ) Alaskan King Crab - The crab claw was served with wasabi foam. Crab was fresh and sweet. The pairing with the wasabi foam that was light and had a slight punch that brought out the sweetness of the crab even more.
3 Option 2) Smoked salmon salad - funnily none of us choose this dish at all
4 Option 1) Lobster Bisque - The dish was served in a warmed shallow dish that had several pieces of lobster drizzled in balsamic vinegar syrup. The waiter then came back with a very hot flask of the bisque and poured it into the dish. This was absolute devine! The soup was creamy (not buttery creamy though) and had a very strong lobster taste to it with a slight hint of beef stock.

5) Lemon Sherbert - a pallet cleanser and the only difference being that the sherbert was light as foam. I skipped the dollop of fresh cream that was at the bottom of the bowl as it somehow did not pair well with the critius taste
6 Option 1) NZ aged beef tenderlion - the dish was served with a side gravy that was made of mushrooms and truffles and a touch of pepper. The steak was cooked on its own with little seasoning. The best combination was to have a slice of the steak dipped into the sauce and a dash of freshly grated horseradish. The different textures and flavours really enhanced the taste of the beef. The beef was cooked medium rare (the best way I like it) and it melted in your mouth when put in the mouth.

6 Option 2) Grilled cod with poached egg. The cod was served on a bed of creamed spinach. Cod was cooked just right, juicy inside, slightly crispy inside. When you bit into it, the oils from the cod was just fabulous. The creamed spinach was unfortunately a tad too salty for my liking. Poach egg, nothing to write home about.
7) Chocolate full moon cake - this was what they called it on the menu.
The dish was served as a round chocolate ball (sized larger than a baseball) dusted with cocoa powder and some biscuit crumbs below. I was initially hopeful that it would turn out great given the dark chox exterior (lurve dark chocholate). When I cracked open the dessert, there was a aquamarine / bluish foam inside that flowed out along with some chocolate syrup. I generally don't like chocolate mint. (Personally, chocolate and mint tasting toothpaste I thought should just be kept seperate, NEVER together) Anyway the quality of the cocoa that was used to make the chocolate was only 'so - so" and the foam of mint, not my cup of tea.


On the whole, a great meal, with a fabulous view (especially when the light show comes on) and even better company.

食完頭盤就到湯啦, 老公就有龍蝦湯, 湯入面加咗黑醋, 一點點的酸令湯既味道多咗變化, 超出我地既預期, 而我既白露筍湯配小龍蝦, 賣相一流!! 當侍應將湯係你面前倒入湯碟, 視覺同嗅覺完全得到滿足, 我比較喜歡較濃的味道, 但我老公就話應該要淡小小就very good la.

主菜方面, 我揀咗澳洲和牛配脆白露筍, 牛肉質素夠滑, 但始終唔夠美國牛肉夠味, 反而老公揀咗既三文魚配椰菜花茸, 味道甜甜的, 侍應話係因為炸之前加咗小小糖, 所以就有一層焦糖係面, 我唔係咁鍾意食三文魚都分咗佢一半, 嘻嘻!!


最後就係甜品, 老公係朱古力暖旦糕, 佢話鍾意佢唔係太甜, 而我就係白露筍燉旦配青蘋果雪葩, 之前曾經係一間澳洲餐廳食過白露筍燉旦, 一試難忘, 可惜餐廳經己結業, 現在可以再呢食得到, 真係好開心, 而燉旦再加上雪葩, 又是另一種好味道.

我地叫左兩個套餐加一枝白酒, 都只係千七蚊到, 以咁既環境同食物質素, 我下次一定會再帶我媽媽來嘆多一次

I picked this place because of the view as we have friends in town from overseas. The view was very nice as but the moment we see our High Tea set arrives, we were starting to get disappointed. The set for 2 was $288+10%, but the amount of food in the set was more for 2 little children. Service was not match 5 star at all, we ask for water as we saw water was being served in table next to us, then the waitress as us you want sparkling or still? i so wanted to say we want free water, okay? so we all order hot water for the sake, i never can understand these "water" policy in restaurants.
So overall it is a very disappointed experience, and all we can do is to keep looking at the view to make sure we get something out from our money!!!!!!

慢慢吃也慢慢看, 懶洋洋閒話家常. 在如斯環境, 不再多介意食物好吃與否了, 甜品就下次先. 朋友找數, 謝謝你.

1.35pm - soup (starter) arrived
2.15pm - STILL WAITING OUR MAIN COURSE (we keep pushing them in btw since our lunch time is 12.30-2.00)

We cancelled our main course order and bad attitude received by their manager. Finally, it suppose to be a happy lunch turned out to a starving lunch. But we still need to pay around $300 per head (for lobster soup+signature ice tea). We complaint to the hotel and apology received.

Yet, we WILL NOT go there again!!

Very content although the services was generally SLOW - they told us the chef wanted eveything to be Perfect
