2007-10-01之前聽朋友說他們的晚餐不錯﹐這天相約一個很久沒見得朋友J 在中環吃brunch (因之後在附近有要事要辦)﹐便想起不如來試試這裡吧。餐廳是時尚簡約的風格﹐但燈光好像比較暗了點﹐晚餐沒有所謂﹐但brunch 就感覺不夠醒神﹐第一個感覺已經是﹕哎﹐找錯地方了﹗J 來到﹐他也不喜歡﹐覺得昏昏沉沉的。Salad bar 的沙律是新鮮的﹐但賣相與味道都不太吸引﹐種類也不多﹐吃了一轉已經放棄了(還是要一杯意大利的Pinot Gris 才能把沙律送下)﹐還要$160 一位呢﹐很貴也﹗J 除salad bar 外還要了個全早餐﹐有煙肉﹑炒蛋﹑焗豆等等﹐但第一眼見到就好失望﹐感覺像在茶餐廳的早餐般﹐半點sophistication 都沒有。再加一瓶礦泉水和一杯咖啡已經六百多元﹐只有一個字﹐貴﹗一頓肚皮既不滿足又要給朋友抱怨的brunch﹐完全破壞了原本放假的好心情﹐我相信以後都不會再踏足這裡一步﹗

上次黎呢間餐廳食野係上年聖誕, 雖然成千銀一位, 但食物質素非常好,有創意, 味道好! 講返今次食D 野.我同老婆上去食Set Dinner, (Champahne Dinner Menu) $650/per person , 4 個菜1 個甜品, 3 杯香賓, 第一個菜龍蝦Jelly, 杯上幾特別,味道清新唔錯, 第二個菜帶子+ 金菰, 帶子細粒左D, 金菰唔知咩菌加在一起好香. 第三個菜雪魚, 雪魚上有蕃茄碎,加上一杯白色sauce黎食, 味道配合得非常好, 而且雪魚煮得好滑. 第四個菜, 白鴿胸, 加一片鵝肝, 鵝肝唔係好大塊不過味道唔錯, 鴿胸份量夠, 煮到剛剛熟,雖然有少少血水, 不過好嫩滑, 唔會有血腥味. 最後有軟心Chocolate Pudding. 唔會好甜. Nice !上布丁時,服務員同我講因為其中一個布丁cook 爆左,冇左軟心, 所以再做一個比我. 要多等幾分鐘.呢D 米service lo ! 價錢雖然貴D, 不過值得一試再試.

雖然有少少血水, 不過好嫩滑, 唔會有血腥味.
最後有軟心Chocolate Pudding. 唔會好甜. Nice !
上布丁時,服務員同我講因為其中一個布丁cook 爆左,
冇左軟心, 所以再做一個比我. 要多等幾分鐘.
呢D 米service lo ! 價錢雖然貴D, 不過值得一試再試.

都係有promotion.... 叫了$250 set dinner...oh my god... 兒童餐來的嗎?...份量少得可憐... 根本就係昆水...食fine dining 我可會expect 好多份量.. 但呢間真係好唔fine... $250.. 個set.. le fouchon 好好多...食物又唔係d 乜好野.. (雖然$250 唔可以expect d 乜)... 唔好以為佢會同london 一樣呀... 呢間野差到嘔...連杯coffee 都差過starbucks... fine dining? 慳d啦...

我同朋友分別叫左以下菜式:

Starter:
Smoked Salmon with romaine lettuce foam, balsamic reduction (we ordered the same starter)
簡単D講, 即係羅馬生菜汁及意醋伴煙三文魚。味道一般, 主要係三文魚不是凍的, 給人一種不新鮮的感覺。分量只得三塊, 到喉唔到肺。

Main Course:
1.Oven roasted red mullet with chives and prawn mousse, served with tomato sauce and garlic butter(my choice)
鯡魚好滑, 裡面有一層有薄薄的蝦膠。不過食唔到有葱的味道。同様, 又係小人國SIZE。

2.Oven roasted fillet of beef with braised lentils and mushrooms, red wine beef jus(my friend choice)
牛柳煎得好林, 大約五成熟, 十分juicy。個sauce都唔錯, 値得一試。SIZE算OK。

Dessert:
1. Apple tart with cloves ice-cream, rum raisin sauce
比想像中差。我係外國食個法菜的Apple tart with coconut ice-cream, 同這個完全無得比。先講Tart的厚度, 太厚, 高個一個葡tart。用料方面, Apple太少但椰蓉勁多。食椰tart多過似apple tart。値得一讚係cloves ice-cream味道幾特別, 出面食唔到。

2. Trio spoons of creme brulee, chocolate, vanilla and mixed fruits, vanilla cheesecake with crumble and hazelnut tuile
同一過評語‘細’。三隻中式spoon上面放了三款一口甜品。無乜特別及無創意。

我地叫左両杯同款既Cocktail。名字忘記了。好像西瓜汁mix with西柚汁等之類。麻麻地好飲, 且好貴成55蚊杯。
這個Dinner令人好失望。両個人Total食左HKD 680。

切得很薄,朱古力外層塗得均勻,有咖啡香;
[Truffle, egg and cress sandwiches]
有很多的松露碎和水芹絲,賣相、香味都不俗;
[Smoked salmon and cucumber jelly open sandwich]
煙三文魚是十分厚、十分有「油水」的那種;

(還有一件不知名的三文治…應該是白汁蕃茄餡來的)

喝的是Earl Grey:茶濃而不澀,芳香但迅間消逝…想到的,竟是Marks & Spencer 的伯爵茶。服務將心比心:侍應不會刻意打擾,只會定時添茶葉同換熱水。

它的下午茶,遠比半島或文華的超值- fine dining 得來又stylish。

糟糕,還有很多東西想試。

買d衫,送一個main及飲,咪去食囉.點了個hamburger同薯條,飲杯果汁.個burger唔係咁好食,塊扒冇乜牛肉味.果汁反而好喎,至少我會覺得佢係鮮搾先囉.不過服務都唔錯,我等人等成半粒鐘,坐度乜都冇叫,d waiter都冇催我,雖然我食免費,但都冇對我有乜白眼.可惜食唔掂,唉....幫佢唔到.但我對佢度飲係有信心,眥因環境係唔錯.

Went shopping at Harvey Nicks recently and got a free weekend brunch coupon for two and went with my family. Was surprised to discover that the prices were friendly -and similar to Jaspas - maybe around $80 - 150 per person? The seafood pasta was fair, the burger was pretty good, but the fish and chips were really tasty in a gourmet way...and the eggs benedict was just right! The seafood pasta was fair, the burger was pretty good, but the fish and chips were really tasty in a gourmet way...and the eggs benedict was just right!

As for dessert - we ordered a few things to share - the sticky date and toffee pudding was amazingly good!! When my mom ordered it, I was very skeptical, but it is definitely a must try!
Although I would not recommend their doughnuts, that needs improvement.

OH - another great thing is the children's menu. My picky little brother got a cheeseburger and was happy. (we like to think it's healthier than Mcdonald's! haha)

Overall: i would definitely come back to try their other desserts......and was very pleased with the menu's variety - offering healthy options like a pan-seared tuna salad, to burgers, pastas, eggs and sunday roast!

I've been half a dozen times to HN 4th floor restaurant, and each time has been enjoyable.Recommended Dishes: The mushroom risotto with pan fried foie gras (appetizer), Curried cod with japanese curry emulsion (main course), Rack of lamb with aubergine and red pepper sauce (main course), Chocolate or vanilla panna cotta (better than tribute, to die for!)Service is great with a very decent wine list.Bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it. Try lunch for better rtn 4 value.

first day back from london. not quite actually when we decided against all odds to come here for lunch. the 5th floor restaurant of HN is very famous for its food and i would really like to see if the one here could match up.dad ordered a lunch set (around 270 i think) of a duck salad with magret et fois gras and a lamb shank. i ordered a side salad and a roasted whole turbot. the turbot came: it was not cooked yet, the flash was still sticking to the bone while sticking to the thick red wine re

dad ordered a lunch set (around 270 i think) of a duck salad with magret et fois gras and a lamb shank. i ordered a side salad and a roasted whole turbot. the turbot came: it was not cooked yet, the flash was still sticking to the bone while sticking to the thick red wine reduction sauce. um. appetite gone in no time.
switched my order on the request to roast curried cod (from the lunch menu rather than the a la carte) with roast asparagus and garlic. the garlic was excellent. the cod, its alright. no surprises.
the bread was not the crusty french bread i have wanted..they were soft bread rolls..oh brits
anywayz, didn't bother trying the desserts.
despite the woman smoking two tables next to us, the ambience and service was great.

Had dinner with family there. One ordered tasting menu (or distasting menu) $600.I ordered Scallops ($180) for appetiser and Pig's head ($250) for main (heard good words about that one, it's not a pig's head on the plate, it's slices of meat, looks like duck breast, on a plate).It was a disaster. The scallop was not tasty at all, the pig's head was decent, but very similar to Osso Bucco elsewhere, and each piece has diff. texture (I'd imagine it's torn off different parts of the pig's face, eeew

Had dinner with family there.
One ordered tasting menu (or distasting menu) $600.

It was a disaster.
The scallop was not tasty at all, the pig's head was decent, but very similar to Osso Bucco elsewhere, and each piece has diff. texture (I'd imagine it's torn off different parts of the pig's face, eeewwww). There was one piece of good meat, the other pieces were like A.) cow tongue, B.) tough parts, and C.) fat. Not that good, but the best part was the accompanied (poached?) apple. The tasing menu wasn't good either (with pigeon main)...

Then came dessert. That was pretty decent.. but afterall, how wrong can u get for dessert... the apple strudel was good, but it's the same taste as the poached apple in my main course?!

Just not recommended... one of the worst value/money you'll ever find. BUT, service was excellent.
