難得有外國同事飛來, 想找個比較西式的地方食lunch, 有同事提意去elements, 原來係平台都有餐廳, 環境好靜好開揚隨意走進這間餐廳, 點了一個lunch set餐湯係南瓜湯, 好creamy, 好好味, 加d black pepper 味道更豐富主菜是茄汁長通粉, 有口感, 但厭太油, 感覺一般同事還點了蒜蓉包, 好好味, 即使凍左都仲好脆, 唔太油仲有類似蛋餅的小食, 幾特別, 入面是薯仔粒, 少少辣, 還可以啦不過環境真係唔錯, 好悠閒, 有機會試埋另外幾間餐廳

After CNY' We decided to try something different and casual. Highly recommended by our expat friend from Australia,We decided to hang out with other friends to this spanish place. They were very busy when we arrived,lookin and comparin at the other places around that not even half full,El Pomposo is I think the most underrated among them,compared to the other place we'ved been before(grand central,joia and the mexican place). We never expect the quality from food,wines and friendly services by the staff for its price afterwards, I can say they had the best price on its value,plus the great atmosphere you're looking for on the weekend! Great place to enjoy selection of Tapas and Wines...in very casual way!!!

星期二首次與相識不久的Gloria共晉晚餐。作為男孩子,事前當然要做做功課,到網上搜集資料(嚴格來說,是細心的男孩子才會這樣做~~)。結果,在最後八強中,我選了El Pomposo。為什麼會選擇這間西班牙餐廳,主要是西班牙或部分南美地區的名字及文化常常予人喜悅、輕快、熱情、雀躍的感覺......簡而言之,這種氣氛和環境不但讓三五知己可以開懷暢聚,而且應該挺適合首次約會的~ BOOK好檯,7:30p.m.準時到達。眼見室內仍有位子,便沒有跟侍應生說我們已預訂桌子。侍應生帶我們來到一張梳化前面,我看了看,想了想,跟友人說我們轉到旁邊那張,那位女侍應生用英語表示「原先這張吧」,我明白她的意思,因為我們想坐的那位置已給留座。於是,我拿起寫有留座人姓氏的名牌微笑道:" I'm Mr. xxx",她聽後略為詫異,然後隨即會意,相視而笑~~ 假如是友人先說,「這位留了座,還是這張吧。」,我建議男孩子可以回答:" I'm the one "~~ (順帶一提,當我以電話預約時,侍應生的態度也是頗有禮貌的。) 接受過侍應生的禮待後,我們花了少少時間點菜,這或許是必需的,除非你懂西班牙文。看

接受過侍應生的禮待後,我們花了少少時間點菜,這或許是必需的,除非你懂西班牙文。看過菜式的譯名,最後點了Ensalada de melon y Jamon Serrano (Salad)、Pasta con chorizo (Pasta)、Fritura de mariscos (Main Course --- Seafood with saffron potatoes),及兩杯啤酒。Salad的材料包括生菜、哈密瓜和其他蔬果如蕃茄等,不過不失。Pasta方面,chorizo是指經醃製的sausage,略帶鹹味,幸好麵條i的sauce的味道不算太濃,可中和sausage的味道。Main Course有魚、魷魚等,附三種醬料選擇,份量不算太少,不過作為主菜,未必會吃得很飽,所以我建議加小食或pasta。總括來說,就第一次正式接觸西班牙菜而言,味道是可以的。有趣的是,一開始我們還在想喝點什麼好的,到點菜時Gloria說想喝啤酒,於是就點了。其實這選擇非常好,據我所見,西班牙菜中有不少醃製食物,喝啤酒既可解渴,又配合環境氣氛。

暢談了兩個多小時,然後去看Gloria所選的電影。好看!!! 她的選擇總是好的~~(間接讚了自己^^)~~

我有一位朋友,是位大忙人,節目超多,本來她約我星期一晚吃飯,不過臨時她又另有節目所以改期,所以要跟她吃飯實在不容易。終於順利可以見面吃飯,本來選了一家意大利餐廳,怎料當天有function,要八點半之後才有位,只好放棄,選了對面的一家西班牙餐廳。剛過了七點不久,有很多在附近office工作的人都來happy hour,頗為熱鬧,氣氛不俗,特別是這種天氣,坐在外面又涼快又舒服,不過外面的位置已經滿了,所以侍應帶我們到裡面的梳化位坐。一 進去就聞得熱辣辣的蒜香,本來不餓都突然變得好想吃東西,立刻看看餐牌有什麼好吃的,反而愛喝酒的友人專心研究到底happy hour要叫那款特價cocktail好。在經歷這杯不錯,那杯也好的掙扎之後,友人決定要一杯Sangria,不喝酒的我順勢點了兩款Tapas,Tortilla de patata y chorizo($58)和Gambas bravas ($72)。友人是比較捨得花錢去吃的人,所以我特別喜歡跟她一齊去吃東西,至少不會聽到這個好貴不要吃這些說話,本身我就不是一個花費多的人,吃就是最大的興趣,如果連吃都要左思右想,那麼我努力工作的動力就沒了。當

友人是比較捨得花錢去吃的人,所以我特別喜歡跟她一齊去吃東西,至少不會聽到這個好貴不要吃這些說話,本身我就不是一個花費多的人,吃就是最大的興趣,如果連吃都要左思右想,那麼我努力工作的動力就沒了。當然不是每餐都要吃貴的,只是在能力所及的範圍內偶然吃吃也真不錯。

既然我點了兩個Tapas,其他的就由友人發板。她除了愛喝,還愛吃芝士和風乾火腿,所以這裡的風乾火腿併盤就最適合她。這個併盤看起來好像不多,可是會配搭一籃麵包,原本她還想多叫一個意粉,但被我制止了。

蝦肉大隻,爽口彈牙,不過醬汁欠了些特色,雖說是spicy但不spicy,味道是不錯,蕃茄帶來的酸味,很開胃,只是沒什麼驚喜,我覺得用極熱鐵板上的Gambas pil-pil更好。

Tortilla。之前在中環那家西班牙餐廳吃過超好吃的蟹肉Tortilla,一直念念不忘,自己試過在家弄又失敗,所以看到這裡有,而且是signature dish,就更加不想錯過。上檯時賣相一般,可能是燈光的關係,看不到金黃色。先切一刀分一半,好像有點乾,傳統的應該Tortilla有蛋、薯仔和西班牙辣香腸,現在好像只看到薯仔,幾乎沒看到有腸,而且又少了點洋蔥香味。至於味道方面 我也覺得很普通,一來不夠熱辣辣,另外是沒什麼調味,味道頗為單調,有點失望。

最後的Plato mixta很豐富,有四款西班牙火腿和cold cuts,還有兩款不知道是什麼款式的硬芝士和quince paste,旁邊還有醃浸過的紅黃椒和橄欖。其實我愛吃軟芝士,對硬的就一般,不過看到這裡有quince paste,立即令硬芝士都可以變得好好吃。Quince是一種梅,不知道中文叫作什麼,她有點像梨,不過有點硬,所以很少會直接食用,因此歐洲人通常都會把它做成果醬,配芝士一起吃。又鹹又甜的味道又令我想起parma ham和哈密瓜的絕妙配搭,這個醬就是可以提升了芝士的味道層次,和蜜糖有同樣的效果。把長形兩頭尖的麵包從中間切開,將芝士和quince paste塞到裡面去,再放上不同的ham一起吃,真的好好吃。

我倆都不愛吃橄欖,試了一口都忍不住吐出來,那個味道實在有點奇怪,相反紅黃椒很好吃,有種橄欖油的香味。

這裡氣氛不錯,很適合一班朋友來喝喝酒吃點東西。食物還可以,我點的兩款tapas都沒有很好吃,普普通通。Cold Cut and cheese platter好吃,不過其實那些火腿和醬都是買回來的,所以不知道廚房煮其他食物的水準如何,不過我還是覺得值得一試的。

朋友生日, 想食得特別一點, 就揀左圓方平台嘅呢一間不認識西班牙菜, 想揀地度一點的, 卻又懶去睇menu, 就點左兩個拼盤seafood拼盤除左提子,煙魚仔和魷魚之外, 其他全是酸的不知名, 酸得過份ham拼盤除了煙至點色的ham外, 其他的都很salty, 包括幾塊像金華火腿的, 和幾塊像辣肉腸但味像臘腸的兩個拼盤都有麵包的,可以很飽的, 卻不怎麼好吃之後的Meatball pasta比較正常, 有四粒meatball, 像山竹牛肉球般大, 肉汁豐富, 幾好~main course chicken breasts 就比較鞋身drinks 方點, 點了西班牙特飲sangeria, 和很少失手的smootie值得再來, 但不會再點地道的食品, 香港人還是不懂欣賞spain pickles 和橄欖吧~

六月下旬是日有些交收,來到這裡飲杯野,傾兩句來緊行程方向。已好耐無來這間西班牙餐廳,印象中內廳好嘈,見是日露天位風涼又無雨,便坐到出面,吃些全天候供應的tapas。要了西班牙式的「西檸雞」,雞是冰鮮雞,肉質鬆腍不會有渣,亦醃得夠味,配起橙汁「酸咪咪」的很可口,這種做法放到中菜亦未嘗不可。還有洋蔥燴魷魚,魷魚難消化,所以主攻伴碟的洋蔥,是煮得夠甜亦有魷魚膽汁的鮮味,很精彩。談了小半區鐘,若不計服務,簡單吃兩碟tapas,也是稱心的。

這是個很好的地方給你和朋友談談話,喝喝酒,再來一些小食,非常輕鬆。只是服務員不太靂活,反應慢。食物方面因只管喝酒沒留意,印像中還可以,還有happy hour 時間至7:30pm .

選了兩個tapas: 香草洋蔥雞 和 辣味蝦。我比較喜歡前者,香草味和雞件配合得很好,不會太濃掩蓋了雞的味道。蝦就還可以啦!可能本人比較喜歡吃鮮蝦的純味,配上辣椒便掩蓋了那份純味了。份量不太多,兩個人ok。如一班人的話,可以叫多兩、三種不同款式。主菜揀了海鮮意粉和西冷扒配薯仔。兩個都很不錯!海鮮意粉好多海鮮(尤其是墨魚),也很新鮮;西冷扒要七成熟,剛剛好,可以試。後來加多了一個NACHOS,配上芝士和火腿碎,必試,要趁熱吃,夠脆又香!侍應見我們兩個人,之前已經叫了那麼多菜式,所以主動建議份量減半。嘩,減了一半原來還有一大碟呢!要了一杯sangria, 沒有我在澳門喝的那個好味道。未喝過這個水果酒的,可以一試的。其實我們兩個人真的很大食,哈哈!可能要少一個主菜,就不用吃得撐著肚子回家。音樂很輕鬆,能帶動熱情的氣氛。如果小聲一點就好。

After checking the review of the restraurants on the Openrice, we decided to go to El Pomposo for lunch last Saturday.
It was still very hot in October. So although all people were sitting outside, we had lunch inside to enjoy the air-con.
There was no set lunch in el Pomposo on Sat but brunch set $188. (In the Civic Square in Elements, only Stormies had the set lunch $2xx. very expensive) As we didnt' see the review of other restaurnat, so just going to El Pomposo as planned.
The bruch set included a drink (spinkling wine, sangria etc), a soup or tapas of the day, a main course, dessert of the day and coffee/tea.
There were three or four chocies of the "main course" in the brunch. However, except the tepas plate, all others were really breakfast, such as scrumbled egg, poached egg, sausauge, ham, etc. We therefore had chosen tapas plate as our main.
We had the sangria. There were quite many fresh fruit (apple, orange, lemon..) on the top. It was too bitter for me. The taste of the wine covered the sweetness of the juice. I did not like it very much.
The pumpkin soup was very creamy. delicious.
The tapas plate was only soso. There were fired mixed musrhoom, ham on bread (2 pieces) and deep fried chicken. The bread was very soft but I expected that it should be toasted. The deep fried chicken was quite spicy.
Finally, there were coffee and parfait with almond. The coffee was quite good. The parfait was also very smooth and the almond was crispy. It was too not sweet and a not bad ending for our lunch.
We also ordered a seafood spaghetti with herb sauce ($125) to share. There were more seafood than spaghetti. There were many but tastless squid, three fresh shrimp and some fish fillet. The spaghetti was al dente. Not bad.
Overall speaking, the food was so so. As we did not appreciate the sangria, it was not worth $188 for that lunch. The only advantage of the restaurant was the open area in front of it. It should be quite relaxing lunch particularly when the weather is cooler.

My friend was craving for tapas, and the nearest tapas restaurant was in element, so we gave El Pomposo a try. We ordered 2 glasses of Sangria, it tasted really really good, the balance between alcohol and sweetness was spot on.We ordered 4 tapas: chorizo tortilla, calamaris, tomato bread and skewered scallops.Apart from the scallops and bread, the portion of calamaris and tortilla were massive for tapas, they were twice as much as the normal tapas size!Chorizo Tortilla:It tasted quite good,

Chorizo Tortilla:
It tasted quite good, but the texture was disappointing. It was burnt on both side and a little overcooked, I suspect it was re-heated. Chorizo, egg and potato seemed to be blended in a food processor, there was no chunk of potato nor chorizo


Tomato Bread:
Bread crust wasn't crispy, bread was too soft, I would say it was like a savoury version of Brioche.......

Calamaris:
Huge portion, but squids were totally tasteless. I especially dislike the batter, it was a dark golden brown breadcrumb batter, quite oily and heavy..... Calamaris should ONLY be delicately coated in a light, airy and crispy batter. T-T
Luckily, the calamaris was served with aioli and some sort of sweet chilly sauce. Aioli was really tasty and garlicky, I absolutely loved it!!!!!!!!

Skewered Scallops:

Scallops were tender, tasted quite nice, but I can't really remember much.......

Overall, food was disappointing, I wouldn't mind going back , but definitely won't order any food.

It is a rather nice place to have a quiet drink with friends if you are tired of the bustling Central and TST.

Been here two times for lunch. The lunch sets are around $100 and come with a drink (can choose sangria). I like the fried potatoes with chorizo and egg. You can also ask them for alioli (garlic mayonnaise) to dip the potatoes in! Although the fried calamari is not too fresh, it does go quite well with alioli and I like anything with alioli... Probably should bring some gum when eating here . The sausage dish (forgot name, but see photo) is not recommended though. The other thing is that the res

The other thing is that the restaurant can also be quite hot during noon time because they open up all the doors, when in fact they're just letting all the air-con escape.

Out of all the expensive selections at Elements though, El Pomposo is a good bargain for lunch.

What a party place!!!First time to visit elements in tst, and its was a great surprise!!!We dont have any reservation,We didnt expect the place was full,but the manager manage to get us a table for 8 of us!It was the coolest and funkiest place at the area,can see on how many people they have comapared to other bars.There was a band performing,I believed they were all spanish guys,and we were all amazed how great the place is, and the Band, was the main attraction!!!They blown everyone away!!!The

What a party place!!!First time to visit elements in tst, and its was a great surprise!!!We dont have any reservation,We didnt expect the place was full,but the manager manage to get us a table for 8 of us!It was the coolest and funkiest place at the area,can see on how many people they have comapared to other bars.There was a band performing,I believed they were all spanish guys,and we were all amazed how great the place is, and the Band, was the main attraction!!!They blown everyone away!!!They sing mostly spanish but all the people never stop dancing including my friends from the time they start performing!!!It was a great fun plus they mentioned our team anniversary to all!!!Yeah!!Also the food was affordable and very good!Just maybe they need to add more vegetarian choices.Disappointed for 1 thing,We all need to go inside at 11pm,beacuse of the license issue???We dont understand,but it was explained to us properly by the staff,at the end it was the best night out for our group celebration!!!just maybe those men in black suit need to have fun also,instead of checking and standing next to our table waiting for us to leave!!!
We'll definitely be back there next time we back in hk!!!

好難得女朋友放早,諗起好耐以前在老尖El Cid食過西班牙菜好好食,D Tapas細細碟可以試多D款式,所以就揀El Pomposo試下。去到印象已經唔好,因為本人好怕熱,佢地有開放式餐桌,所以外面近門口D位好熱,要去最入面先至感覺到D冷氣。睇過Menu,D字又細粒,燈光又黑,直情睇唔到上面寫咩,差D俾女朋友發現我有老花眼。求其叫幾樣試下,反正都係50,60蚊一碟。1.牛油餐飽:暖暖地,飽唔脆唔香,牛油還可以,不合格。2.牛肉片:個汁唔咸唔酸,唔對胃口,牛肉唔嫩滑,好似阿媽留D隔夜菜咁。3.炸雞件:雞肉溝埋其他野再炸,OK..都幾好味。4.炒蝦球:蝦不太細,個汁都ok,這個最好食。5.叫左個Ginger Ale,味道好淡,以為叫錯左7-up.食完幾個Tapas都覺得不太滿意,加埋佢地D"強勁"既輕快音樂,餐廳入面D人都要掔大個喉嚨講野,唔知叫做熱鬧定嘈,食到一半就埋單走人。簡單一句:把鬼!

Had a very simple Sunday brunch with my friend. We shared two tapas : ox tongue with a spicy tomato sauce - this was tender and nice and spicy. The fried pig offal was really, really good - pig's ear, liver and other parts fried with egg. Very delicious.I also had scrambled eggs with chorizo. Nothing exotic but it's nice to have chorizo instead of the usual sausage.Simple and good. And a glass of sangria to wash everything down.
