Catfish in Mango SaladWow, this is my appetizer. Its really amazing...The fish is crisp and the green mango salad was refreshing, hmmm spicy though but you can inform the staff to tone it down and they'll be happy to inform the kitchen about your request. Pad Thai Goong
Another wow factor, just good enough portion and the king prawn was heavenly. ooops, when the server lays this dish to your table, they would humbly tell you to squeeze the fresh lime on to your pad thai to enhance the flavor, he's right, just perfect balance in taste, and definitely not spicy at all. Very delightful.

I had 2 glasses of the Echelon Shiraz which was fabulous, a great wine pairing suggested by my server.

题外话/补充资料: The prices match the quality of food and outstanding service. I will be back soon and definitely would tell all my friends and colleagues. I wish there's another outlet in Central or Admiralty......

當晚同女友去咗尖沙咀K11地下嘅Arun Thai泰國菜食晚飯,叫咗兩款前菜「沙爹雞肉串燒」,「帶子沙律」及兩款主菜「黃咖喱炒蟹」,「辣椒炒蝦」。首先講沙爹雞串-燒完之後都唔會好亁,肉質好軟,配埋佢地嘅沙爹汁超好味,由於佢地放咗d青瓜、蕃茄粒落沙爹汁度,所以唔會好油膩,好清新。帶子沙律-帶子非常爽口鮮甜,有香茅、香草檸檬汁、南薑等做配料,爆發力相當驚人。黃咖喱炒蟹-椰汁味好香,蟹肉亦好鮮甜,但由於本人並非好蟹之人,所以隨量就算,但強烈建議用咖喱汁配白飯。最後辣椒炒蝦-非常香辣惹味,蝦肉爽口彈牙,但嫌汁芡略多,亁d更好。原本打算試埋甜品,但實在再容立唔到,唯有下次啦…

Grilled Tiger PrawnMay sound common and ordinary but clearly, this dish is fabulous and one of a kind! It comes with mint herbs, coconut and lime, and fish sauce with chilli. A must have and highly recommended.The interior of this restaurant is truly striking and features red light chandeliers, a wine cellar and a sumptous VIP room. For a Thai restaurant, their winelist was very impressive, well selected and lastly, service was impeccable. Thumbs up!

The interior of this restaurant is truly striking and features red light chandeliers, a wine cellar and a sumptous VIP room. For a Thai restaurant, their winelist was very impressive, well selected and lastly, service was impeccable. Thumbs up!

是晚原本又是中菜飯局,但其中的朋友有事不能來,剩下我和朋友兩人,中菜似乎不太適合呢,始終兩人能點的菜不多,最後我們就去了吃很久沒吃的泰國菜啦。=)))朋友說之前來過這裡覺得不錯,所以是晚我們就來到這裡吃晚飯。訂了檯所以立即有位置,就眼所見原來這裡只有很少檯的,能容納的客人數量不多,而且幾迫夾的。但剛好我們只有兩人,店員安排了我們坐在店內角落的位置,完全是自成一角,又不會和其他客人有碰撞,唯獨是檯子不能放下太多食物就是了。來吃泰國菜,總覺得要點杯清涼的飲品才夠配合,最後我就從多款飲品中點了mango lassi,賣相感覺相當不錯,由芒果汁,菠蘿汁再加yogurt而成的,但喝下去味道不太濃,有淡淡的芒果味和點點奶香,不過我覺得如果它再酸一點應該感覺會更清新,現在淡了點呢。和朋友有多次眼闊肚窄的經驗,所以實在不敢點太多食物。首先當然要點個清新的沙律,由於我不太吃得辣,所以能點的食物相對變少了,最後點了青芒果鯰魚沙律。這裡的食物份量算很多,沙律來到像座山高似的,有些青芒果沙律另外附上,因為怕把鯰魚變腍了。青芒果沙律和想像的一樣清新,酸酸甜甜幾開胃,不過醬汁也是有點微辣的。炸過的鯰魚非常香脆,而

和朋友有多次眼闊肚窄的經驗,所以實在不敢點太多食物。首先當然要點個清新的沙律,由於我不太吃得辣,所以能點的食物相對變少了,最後點了青芒果鯰魚沙律。這裡的食物份量算很多,沙律來到像座山高似的,有些青芒果沙律另外附上,因為怕把鯰魚變腍了。青芒果沙律和想像的一樣清新,酸酸甜甜幾開胃,不過醬汁也是有點微辣的。炸過的鯰魚非常香脆,而且一點油也沒有,咬下去是爽口的感覺,魚肉和炸粉漿混在一起,所以吃到淡淡的魚的清香,雖然是炸過,但也算是開胃的一個菜式。

想叫一個小食所以叫了炸蝦餅,但來到的時候份量實在嚇人... 怎看也不是小食嘛。又是香口的食物,蝦餅切下去非常厚... 個人覺得用蝦扒來形容會比較適合它! 雖然是炸物,但又是一點油膩感也沒有,非常乾爽,內裡亦是爽口彈牙,蝦的鮮味不算很強但味道都算不錯啦。

最後主菜點了馬來文咖喱炆牛肋肉,這個是跟白飯的,另外我們再加了一客蒜蓉包。這個是全晚最好吃的食物,不要看它碟子細細,份量也不少的。咖哩一點也不會太辣,帶有點點椰香,吃下去非常惹味,用來配白飯當然沒問題。牛肋肉炆得很軟腍,肉味亦算濃郁,連配菜如紅椒青椒也一樣好吃! 蒜蓉包相對就比較一般,主要是不夠脆口,亦不夠蒜蓉香呢。

幸好我們沒有點太多食物,因為這裡的食物份量不少,我們吃光所有食物又是已經很飽啦,不過還是不能漏了甜品的份兒! 實在吃不下太膩的食物,所以最後叫了一個椰汁xxx千層糕作為今晚的總結! 來到賣相亦算標緻,椰汁味幾濃,千層糕咬下去口感帶點煙韌的感覺,很有咬口,再加上旁邊伴碟的生果清新一下,也算不錯啦。

吃畢又是飽飽和滿足,和朋友談談說說又渡過了愉快的一個晚上。=))

配上比較清淡嘅雞, 就更加配合喇~
咖哩魚跟白飯 -- 每樣咖哩都會跟一個白飯, 比較合理 因為唔駛o徒左D咖哩汁嘛~
咖哩汁唔似一般嘅咖喱味, 無咁"杰" 之餘, 又有另一番風味~
魚本身炸過, 而且皮夠薄, 炸過之後又無咁腥, 原本諗住咖哩魚可能有D怪, 但呢個又唔會喎~
蒜蓉包 -- 脆卜卜, 蒜蓉唔會過多, 點汁時唔會蓋過哂D味, 唔錯~

食完飯, 我地叫左紅酒, 但由於不斷有客嘅關係, 服務員要求我地調到bar 枱, 當然我地不太願意啦,
服務員友善嘅要求下, 而且又送我地一個desert, 都不能再強難於佢嘅, 不過個desert只係一般咋~
好在bartender送左我地每人2杯shooter, 呢個就係坐bar枱嘅好處呢 keke

I have been having lunches here - less than $100 for a three-course meal. Three courses, for lunch, for $100! And they recently gave me a meal coupon.

So I decided to hold my birthday party here, just to see. These are my close friends, so I guess they'll gladly be my testers. When the guests all arrived, the service proceeded with tip-top class.

At first I thought it was a gimmick, but the chicken satay comes in shot glasses. Then I soon realized why. After you finish the skewers off, the peanut dipping sauce is so tasty, you have to throw it back like a shot with the sweet, sour, and nuttiness, mixed perfectly with a kick of chili.

Their prawn cakes are worth noting. They added lemongrass, I think, which made the big patties more fragrant. They crunchy on the outside and juicy inside.

The king prawns with a mild curry sauce was finger-licking good. The prawns were as big as my fist, and at first I though a prawn that big has to be mushy and soft. But they be juicy, sprightly and meaty, cooked with an infused smoky flavor. For once, i didn't want to ladle a curry sauce onto my rice, but enjoy the mild curry sauce that complemented the seafood perfectly.

The waiters were also world-class. They were unobtrusive and seemed to preempt whenever I need anything. I wanted to share my seafood pad see-eew (fried flat noodles) with my friend next to me. A communal fork appears. The noodles are my favorite dish, in general. But these guys make it come alive. Shrimps and cuttle fish were in abundance. Some chefs make it too sweet, but here it's just right, with it slightly on the savoury side.

We also had a selection of drinks - Quartz Reef Pinot Gris and Leroy Bourgogne - which the waiters filled without throughout the night without any of the guest having to ask to top them. We rounded off the meal with a couple rounds of LavAzza coffee made from its gigantic coffee machines. Man, don't I wish I had one of those at home.

I think I'll be having my next party here, for my kids, my wife, and everyone I know.

金泰以「皇家泰國菜」作主打,是澳洲悉尼的 Arun Thai 的姊妹店。悉尼的 Arun Thai 已有20多年歷史,由泰藉名廚,也是當地著名泰菜烹飪書作者 Kham Signavong 開辦,於 2009 年北上香港開分店。

既然說是「皇家泰國菜」,這裡賣的是傳統中加入現代元素出品的泰菜,出品走精緻路線,賣相精美。

是我想點的,吃法其實像鴨鬆包生菜,分別是有好多辣椒,喉嚨痛的友人吃了兩口已大呼好辣,再無福消受,只好由我包辦。除了辣味之外,免治烤鴨的鴨香也是挺濃郁的,而且南薑有股特別的味道(類似冬蔭功湯呢),包了生菜吃但始終都是比較辣,吃不完喇,真可惜。

Stir-fried Mixed Vegetables with Vermicelli, Mushrooms and Bean Curd
給友人吃的,清新之選,豆腐是用炸豆腐的,所以沒怎麼出水。另有雲耳、雪耳等物炒椰菜,芡汁略嫌多了一些。

大蝦炒金邊粉 Pad Thai Goong( $ 135)
Stir-fried Rice Noodles with King Prawn and Tamarind Sauce
典型傳統泰菜,如前所說,賣相的確好看,應是我吃過的泰國菜中最佳之一;大蝦兩隻,不算太有蝦味,金邊粉以花生碎、芽菜等同炒,酸酸甜甜,吃時記著要擠一點青檸汁,增加酸香惹味。

餐牌上也有些甜品想吃的,但 Paul Lafayet 就在旁邊,又沒有不去吃之理,這邊只好忍一忍了。

這裡食物是不錯的,但店內地方太昏黑,而且人多時很吵,如果坐露天位該會好一些。

10月31日(星期日)晚,女友陪我在旺角血拼完後,我終於買到心宜已久的玩具了,之後我們便坐巴士到尖沙咀,為女友極為喜愛的潮褂落了訂。離開後我們都未覺肚餓而想找個地方坐下,女友更突然想完成籌劃已久的結婚相作最後覆核,幸好我早有準備,帶了手提電腦隨時候命。我們行到K11附近,見到有間環境不錯的Pub,於是便選擇這裡。不過門口的男侍應問吃晚飯還是飲野,我說祇是飲野,然後就帶我們到屬於店家的露天地方坐下,後來才知原來這裡是吃泰國菜的。看過Drink List,這裡有較少有的捷克生啤Budvar供應,就要了一杯,而女友當然要mocktail,研究了一會就選擇要Pinita Colada。不過落完單後,等了良久,那位男侍應才奉上飲品,就連女友也說一杯draft beer要這麼久嗎?Pinita Colada:成份有pineapple juice、fresh lime juice和coco lopez,女友說菠蘿汁和椰子汁很配合,味道不錯,可惜嚐不到青檸汁的存在;Budvar:雖然是來自捷克,其實和Budweiser同出一徹,味道也較易入口,不過可能放得太久才送來,未夠冰凍,而且杯頂一點泡也沒有,大

10月31日(星期日)晚,女友陪我在旺角血拼完後,我終於買到心宜已久的玩具了,之後我們便坐巴士到尖沙咀,為女友極為喜愛的潮褂落了訂。離開後我們都未覺肚餓而想找個地方坐下,女友更突然想完成籌劃已久的結婚相作最後覆核,幸好我早有準備,帶了手提電腦隨時候命。我們行到K11附近,見到有間環境不錯的Pub,於是便選擇這裡。不過門口的男侍應問吃晚飯還是飲野,我說祇是飲野,然後就帶我們到屬於店家的露天地方坐下,後來才知原來這裡是吃泰國菜的。看過Drink List,這裡有較少有的捷克生啤Budvar供應,就要了一杯,而女友當然要mocktail,研究了一會就選擇要Pinita Colada。不過落完單後,等了良久,那位男侍應才奉上飲品,就連女友也說一杯draft beer要這麼久嗎?

Pinita Colada:成份有pineapple juice、fresh lime juice和coco lopez,女友說菠蘿汁和椰子汁很配合,味道不錯,可惜嚐不到青檸汁的存在;

Budvar:雖然是來自捷克,其實和Budweiser同出一徹,味道也較易入口,不過可能放得太久才送來,未夠冰凍,而且杯頂一點泡也沒有,大大影響了口感和味道;

在這裡坐了個多小時,感覺蠻舒服,若然可以坐在室內遠離煙味會更加好!

E's birthday, Friday, all bosses away... alright! So we take a longer walk and try something totally new to celebrate over lunch. We get there to an almost empty restaurant and start getting worried. Surely it can't be that bad? How bad can Thai food be? But having committed by the 3 of us crossing the threshold of the entrance, it was too late to make an about turn. Shoot! Surely it can't be that bad? How bad can Thai food be? But having committed by the 3 of us crossing the threshold of the entrance, it was too late to make an about turn. Shoot! So we ordered and hoped for the best.

The food took a long time coming. The restaurant still did not fill up much more... But once the food came and we started tucking in, all our worries went away.

First up, the beef brisket yellow curry. None of that "Hong Kong style" curry that we get in the city. This was the real thing. You can make out the numerous spices that went into this and all coming together nicely through the coconut cream. Just like old friends. The beef brisket was also well cooked to be firm but soft and juicy on the inside. Superb with rice. This was easily E's favorite.

The chicken with lemongrass sauce had a lot more heat but it was addictive heat. The more spicy, the more rice I took and then the more gravy I wanted. The chicken was tender (we liked that they used dark meat chunks) and the long beans were crunchy. Every mouthful was textures at play and caused the heat to linger a little more.. at which point, we were begging the waiter to refill our water glasses.

The crab and vermicelli pot was probably the piece de resistance. Very fresh crab stir fried with a predominantly white peppercorn spice mix and crunchy vegetables, mushrooms and fresh chillies, soaked up by the al dente vermicelli. It was also a male crab so apart from the fall off the shell flesh, we also enjoyed the chewy creamy consistency of the sperm sacs, instead of the usual orange roe found in female crabs. I like both but find the males more difficult to get. Superb execution.

Not to be outdone, even our stir fried water convolvulus with preserved yellow bean, garlic and chillies were excellent. This was easily the best I've had in Hong Kong. Un-greasy and still retaining crunch and green, this one packed a little heat as well and was also great with the rice.

Moral of the story: one of these is barely enough for one person. Don't share. If you don't like rice, you don't know what you're missing. This is perfect Jasmine at its best, capable of withstanding any amount of curry you douse it with - soaking up the flavors but never disintegrating.

As I tweeted, this is definitely Thai cuisine fit for royals. And after a leisurely lunch, I certainly felt like a queen.

本來對呢間餐廳好有期望, 於是一早book 位來試吓...但是去到所見, 餐廳其實唔算大, 入面有2張4人枱, 其餘6張2人枱排哂在門口位置 (門口是開放式, 沒有冷氣可言) 大熱天時, 要坐在餐廳門口位置, 加上餐廳又在K11入口, 感覺超差...我曾要求坐餐廳內的4人枱, 但他們話已經有其他人book 咗, 所以我們都要坐門口的2人枱.我們點咗幾樣食物:炸軟殼蟹 & 炭燒豬頸肉 -一ok...個汁好開胃柚子salad - 呢個好味, 可惜用咗個酒杯上, 雖然外觀幾靚, 但唔實用, 只是輕輕一移, 酒杯上的salad就會倒下來, 睇番其他食評, 原來這是經常會發生的 >.< 最令我意想不到的他們是不會換個另一碟俾我...這裡的服務可想而知啦!

And I was rather disappointed when they arranged for us to sit near the foldable French windows which led straight into the entrance/hallway of the K11 shopping mall, with people passing in and out and traffic right outside our door. And I was rather disappointed when they arranged for us to sit near the foldable French windows which led straight into the entrance/hallway of the K11 shopping mall, with people passing in and out and traffic right outside our door. It was not ideal, but judging by the small place, they probably couldn't have figured out how to fit us in otherwise.

The Filipino waiter looked surprising fair-skinned and Oriental looking and for a moment I mistook him for Thai or Chinese, but after trying to speak Cantonese to him, we realised it was better to converse in English. I told him specifically that we're entertaining our guests (not hard to figure out which ones they were as they were Caucasians among 5 other Chinese boys and girls), but this didn't seem to make him perk up anymore than if I told him my pet hamster will need a chair for his cage. I had to ask him several times to get us more than 1 wine list so the guests do not have to peer over each other to check out the drinks, and finally we managed to squeeze 3 drinks list out of them for the 8 of us. It started to feel like a losing battle, but I kept my spirits up and hoped the tide will turn in my favour. 2 of our guests were particularly well-versed in Thai culinary lingo, so they ordered for us all. We started with pandan leaf chicken which was tender and fragrant, another appetiser which I forgot the name of (edible leaves rolled into a cone filled with I think beef, nuts and other condiments) which was very interesting. Then came the banana flower salad with prawns which was served beautifully if not precariously on a martini glass piled high with salad and a prawn head and tail sticking out at each end. The papaya salad with chicken was tasty but a little small in quantity, the chicken was tender but a little dry. Then came the pad thai which had a very fancy mesh-like covering made of eggs (I think) and the noodles were chewy but not greasy. The chicken in the pad thai had some fat on it and some tendinous parts but overall didn't ruin the dish for me. The beef chunks in yellow curry was fab, the beef was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The green curry with beef slices was a special order from our guest as she only liked green curry, and I thought that was a little plain and the curry was too mild. The fish curry was decent, but the fish slices were depe fried first and the batter turned soggy after sitting in the curry. The Arun seafood was a hefty plate of king prawns, scallops and other goodies with a thick and rich curry sauce which was my favourite out of all the curries. All came with rice piled high on a plate. Seems they have this fascination with vertical extension.

Then came a big selection of desserts, the platter had 3 different flavoured sago pudding (strawberry - looked off colour and plasticky to me; mango and plain), pandan and coconut milk layered pudding with a dollop of creamy coconut sauce on top and 2-3 black sesame seeds sprinkled for effect, and some pumpkin and mango pudding served in slices. The ginger sorbet was our preferred choice over the lemongrass (again served in martini glasses, dangerous when passing around the table), and my favourite sticky rice pudding with mango was served beautifully in 2 spoons (hence making the portions rather small) but accompanied by a long of mango slices and a chocolate sauce decorated plate.

There was a choice of tap water but our guests preferred san pelligrino, I ordered a passionfruit mint juice which was fantastic - thick enough as a juice but not so filling as to ruin my appetite. The others shared 2 bottles of wine, initially we asked for a kiwi sauvignon blanc which they said they had sold off the last bottle that very afternoon, and the same answer again for another kiwi wine. We settled for the pinot grigio which was unanimously proclaimed to be a very nice wine, but unfortunately the evening was dampened by the 2nd bottle of riesling which was too taut and strong.

The service needs a lot of fine tuning, for example, reaching over one guest to pour water/replace plates/remove plates of another seated further away, which was intrusive if not downright impolite at a nice restaurant. We asked them to keep an eye on our tab so we won't go over the budget (I know it sounds terrible, but it was orders from above), but they didn't tell us when we went overboard, and stranger still, instead of opting to replace our plates after we had pandan leaves and other stuff piled on it after our appetiser, they opted to remove only the rubbish off our plates one by one with a pair of chopsticks and essentially jabbing in front of us like a streetsweeper with his prongs. We asked them to change the plates instead because it was embarrassing in front of guests but they just smiled and continued. Was it a language barrier? I don't know, and I hope they will find staff in the future that understands what customers are saying in plain English or Chinese. My guest suspected that there was a rather large bug inside her pandan leaf chicken and asked the staff to take a look, and after putting it close up to their face they proclaimed that it wasn't a bug and was safe to eat. My guest wasn't convinced and had a look of displease on her face, but they weren't quick enough to pick up the cue to offer her another piece from the kitchen. When another staff was asked to introduce what was what on the dessert platter (no, they didn't volunteer) he pointed his fingers so close to the desserts I almost wanted to pull his hands away. The tables were a bit narrow and we had difficult accommodating so many plates at one point, but somehow we managed without the waiters' help. Overall, rather unhelpful and not a particularly bright team of staff. Despite the pleasant and outstanding food, the service let us down.

無可否認佢 d 野食係幾好味,但大家要覺悟真係要食好耐架。

Sunshine Dry Beef好似牛肉乾,但肉沖仍可保留。一定要配醬汁來吃,非常美味。不過份量太少了, 再多一倍會更合理。店舖環境幾好,坐位舒適,桌子夠大,亦有outdoor section。上菜速度算慢,但服務一流,雖然是新店,問及服務員對菜式的細節亦對答如流!
