最喜歡參與同事生日會,雖然只是短短的十多分鐘,已是很愉快。為十一月之星準備的生日蛋糕,是美心的出品。看上去還以為是栗子蛋糕,原來是朱古力口味才對,外層幼滑,裡頭是朱古力海綿蛋糕的忌廉層,雖說不上很鬆軟,味道卻是可以。至於蛋糕頂部,是勁多的什果,我分到的芒果,絕不會酸,也不錯。談起來,下次生日會不一定要有生日蛋糕,在寫字樓切壽包又幾有趣喎!祝壽星女生日快樂!

After trying the Gouda cheese buns at Maxim's I decided to try the Soft cheese one as well.I think I may have tried this before ages ago.The bun was softer than the Gouda cheese one and it was dusted.The cream cheese was evidently creamier and not as salty as the Gouda cheese.I would have liked this bun filled with gouda cheese because I liked the texture of this bun more.

I think I may have tried this before ages ago.

仲記得係我細個個陣我媽已經成日買美心既燒餅比我做早餐因為我個時好鐘意叮噹 然後愛屋及烏 鐘意埋燒餅大個之後多數都自己買早餐美心燒餅好耐都無食過了前排咁岩經過 就買左個花生燒餅回味啦無可否認 佢既外表都幾cute同卡通片入面見到既都差唔多只可惜唔係新鮮出品唔多唔少都有化學調味 eg 防腐劑但個人認為味道都係唔差燒餅皮鬆軟 而且帶有嚼勁 麵粉味香而內裡既花生醬係以餅既姿態呈現雖然感覺好化學 但味道比一般既濃同稠身仲帶有一粒粒既花生 口感好好但都係個句啦 如果少D化學野就好了

這天用優惠卷三送一買精緻西餅,記不起每件餅的名字,簡單以味道來形容,也許人長大了,口味有變化,不太享受它們,感覺有點膩,把每件餅分三份,每件輕嚐三份之一:栗子撻–栗子蓉很多,味道不是很甜,一間有一粒栗子,很平凡,刺激不起我的味蕾士多啤梨慕思–外觀最漂亮,果酸可以提神,口感較清新芝士藍莓–幼滑的芝士蛋糕,口感厚實,裡面有些藍莓果醬濃朱古力–百份百,單一的朱古力味

The chocolate swiss roll at Maxim's has been jazzed up.They never used to have icing sugar drizzled on top.Anyway, it still tastes the same as the swiss rolls years ago, the roll is ok, but the cream inside is the nasty chinese salted buttercream.

十二月下旬‧晴這一輪,早餐是輪流吃不同地方的麵包,原來這裡的「片片芝味」很不錯。包本身鬆軟,內藏芝士,味道真的鹹香好味。烘過更好吃,配上牛油,值得一試。有時美味就是簡簡單單的。

Almond stickThere’s large pieces of almond on top of that and very crispy…..it has muti layrers and not too sweet as a whole, not oily too, but when I eat that it’s very dirty coz lots of 碎drop offCoconut tartThe tart base is crispy and rich in butter taste….coconut cake is spongy and have some coconut 絲, quite sweet when finished the whole cake,…outer layer is a bit hard….

Truffle is getting cheap these days, they used to be served in high-end restaurants, and then Pizzahut started serving it on their pizzas, and now on Bread, I wonder when it will be sold at a economic price at the local supermarkets.The truffle used here is nothing like the high-end truffle, but it resembles a slight truffle taste, hence the affordability it can be served here and at Pizzahut.Anyway, taking the bun out of the bag, the aroma of the herbs on the bun was very overpowering.As with a

The truffle used here is nothing like the high-end truffle, but it resembles a slight truffle taste, hence the affordability it can be served here and at Pizzahut.

Anyway, taking the bun out of the bag, the aroma of the herbs on the bun was very overpowering.

As with all Maxim’s bun it is hollow in the middle, with fillings on one side of the bun.

The tuna filling had a strong hint of freshly grounded black pepper aroma, yet the black pepper was not fiery.

The truffle wasn’t that strong, but went well with the herbs and black pepper.

Overall it tasted like the spread SEaLECT Snackit tuna and mayonnaise but it was less creamy.

Maxim's snow mooncakes are sold in gift boxes (about $100-150 each) , individual packs, and recently, in a bag of 3 packs (2 mini mooncakes each pack) your choice. Bags are very attractive and come in different designs.I bought 2 bags 1. Angel and Devil : with "Angel" printed on one side, "Devil" the other2. Maxim's snow mooncakes are sold in gift boxes (about $100-150 each) , individual packs, and recently, in a bag of 3 packs (2 mini mooncakes each pack) your choice. Bags are very attractive and come in different designs.

I bought 2 bags

1. Angel and Devil : with "Angel" printed on one side, "Devil" the other

2. Hong Kong theme (pictured) : using HK neon light signs as the theme.

And chose the following flavors:

1. Devil dark chocolate crunch (new this year): With a dark chocolate middle and puffed rice pieces, some of which became soggy and lost crunchiness!!
obut overall a very chocolate-y experience.

2. Angel white chocolate crunch (new) With a viscous caramel in the middle, crisp puffed rice pieces - very sweet, with milky undertones from the condensed milk and other dairy ingredients. I liked this more than the Devil.

3. Hong Kong Milk Tea: apparently red tea paste in the middle, a mildly sweet mooncake but lacks tea flavor. I guess this is Maxim's HK version of the Japanese green tea flavor mooncake.

4. Apple pie crunch (new): Lots of cinnamon flavor. The frozen middle tasted a bit icy, it may be apple puree, like apple pie filling. Good if you are a fan of apple pies. With lots of puffed rice, but didn't taste of cocoa. I liked it because it tasted very much like what it is supposed to taste of. An interesting mooncake, but doesn't taste like one!

5. Blueberry cheesecake: With a berry flavored cream cheese like middle. Pleased to see and bite into actual dried blueberry bits and its seeds!

6. Yin Yang (also new): With a coffee filling and tea-flavored white bean paste . Very velvety smooth and had stronger tea flavor than the HK milk tea flavor. Better than that too.

Why Maxim's wins:

The best skin out of all mooncakes from the bakeries I tried - Maxims somehow eliminated the "raw dough" problem that snow mooncakes generally have.

Many flavor choices, including new ones this year

Appealing, fun and modern marketing and design

Very clear and detailed information given on ingredients and nutrition.

Ingredients are important because they combine to give flavors, textures; a slight modification can result in very different outcomes. Reading their ingredients, Maxim's really utilize a range of ingredients - like including cheese enzymes in their "cheese" flavors, white chocolate in the apple pie crunch, and potato starch in making their skin, perhaps their secret to a smooth, not plastic-y texture. Maxim's definitely wins in this field; making their mooncakes best in taste, texture, and overall enjoyability.
To sum it up in one phrase: 真才實料!

Today , my breakfast is 北海道朱古力麵包, its appearance looks like 心太軟. The price is $7.5, it is reasonable! Before, I think the bread has soft chocolate inside, like dessert. Actually, the bread has nothing inside. The taste of bread is chocolate. I like it because it is not too sweet, but it doesn't have too strong chocolate taste. The texture is soft. The surface of the bread is hard. This texture mix is match. I scored this bread for 75. You can try it for breakfast and tea time.

Felt like having some american pancakes, so tried the maxims version.There are two flavours either filled with red bean or peanut butter.Frankly it is cartoon food!The pancakes were not soft, also the peanut butter was hard and dry inside.I was surprised the butter didnt go runny in this heat.

Salmon Pizza:Surprisingly delicious, it had onions, green peppers, salmon and sweetcorn.The salmon was nice and fishy.Bun filled with salmon and white sauce:Again, another one of those Maxims buns that collapses on the first bite.Not much filling inside, and not much white sauce.Overall the taste was bland.Luncheon ham and egg bun:Tastes the same as the normal luncheon ham and egg bun, except the bits with baked cheese tasted better.

Got this because of the chicken chipolata sausage, it was quite nice, however the sausage skin was quite plastic.I think it would match western dough, i dont know what is it with chinese dough, it dosnt seem to rise properly, and the texture is very compacted.Overall, it tastes ok.

jan 15,10喺我嘅喬遷之"喜"...........(我轉組後,1直都喺坐喺舊位).........現要搬去深入虎穴 (由4號倉被引渡番去3號倉)...........為咗要紀念呢個日子,特別買咗個魔鬼蛋糕食吓應吓景.............大約1-1/2磅............因為借用了友人嘅美x party card,所以有78折 (連埋+牌$$$$ ie total $123.3)想食咗魔鬼蛋糕好耐........終於搵到機會.........不過比較溶,大大-低食興............又令到友人要分成16份時增添難度..........表層嘅朱古力cream多,也滑,但朱古力海綿蛋糕同樣亦多。個人就略嫌佢嘅朱古力cream唔夠"杰",黏度唔夠強,好似無嘜料到咁
