At boxing day I paid a visit at the wishing tree of Lam Tsuen and hiking to the Lam Tsuen waterfalls and my boss, he lives in Tai Po Kam Shan, was very nice to kept me company and brought me to a local restaurant for dinner with his family. I never thought of a Macau restaurant would be located in Tai Po Market, I had tried the one in TST and thought the Portuguese cuisine was quite tasty. I didn’t know how good this local one compare to the one in TST but as my boss was recommending this, and he was treating me for dinner, I should trust his taste especially he is Portuguese.
At the restaurant, I realized the waitresses don’t speak any English and I started wondering how my boss were going to order, knowing that they only have menu in Chinese only! I wasn’t sure my boss had any idea but he had dined here before so I guess he knew what he was ordering and luckily they have a picture album for him..
He ordered lots of food that night, and most of them are signature dishes of the restaurant but I don’t know if I translate correctly.
Pork Chop Bun – nice and soft bun with two large pieces of pork chop and fried onion, very tasty and quite filling up just having one on my own, this is a signature dish of Macau cuisine, strongly recommend.
Pork chop with fried rice baked – covered in tomato base source mixed with green pepper, black olive and Portuguese salami. My Boss said this is a very traditional home style source, which Portuguese family would make to serve on toast or pasta. The Pork chop was very tender and went pretty well with the fried rice.
Chicken baked in Portuguese style source – chicken was fresh and really tender, I found the coconut based source a bit salty, but the coconut taste made me month watering, went well with dipping bread.
Roasted baby pigeon – the meat was very juicy and tender, while the sink was crispy. I greedily downed a whole on me own.
Also tried pan fried beef ribs with garlic and roasted sardine in Portuguese style both very nice. Boss said their curry are also good, I would pay another visit again.
