Knowing that there is a popular Vietnamese cafe at Causeway Bay, my wife decided to go there for dinner tonight. Chun Giu was located at Caroline Hill Road, several minutes walk from Causeway Bay MTR. Kumquat plum tea - It was refreshing and sour in taste, helping to quench our thirst in this hot weather.
Vietnamese coffee - Condensed milk was provided, thus making it creamy and smooth. It has strong coffee taste too, with strong aroma.
Pork rice rolls - This dish was not commonly found in most Vietnamese restaurants in Hong Kong. The roll was slightly thin in texture and transparent. Pork filling inside was chewy and flavourful, going well with the rice roll.
Hanoi medium rare beef pho - Pho was very soft and smooth and the beef was tender and juicy, as we requested for medium rare. Soup was clear and tasty, absorbing the essence of the beef soup broth.
Lemongrass pork chop cold vermicelli - The chef was generous with the portion of pork chop, served in 2 big pieces. It was grilled till juicy and chewy, soft as well. Sweet and sour sauce was provided to pour onto the cold vermicelli, to enhance the taste. Vermicelli was chewy, very appetizing too.
