收到日理万机的朋友来电,竟然是约饮早茶?! 有得食,我当然乐意奉陪,只是起初并不明白为何要山长水远去西环饮茶,原来这旧式酒家将于月底结业,我真是孤陋寡闻。比平时返工更早起身,准时到达目的地。好不容易才找到两个唔使搭台的位置,坐落四周围看看,谈谈近况,便开始觅食。依我所见,客人大都是上年纪的公公婆婆,跟我预期的景况没两样。若不赶时间的话,可以划点心纸,阿姐会逐样的送上来。想亲力亲为的,拿张点心卡出去自取,也可以。我们选了一些大路点心,一两款怀旧的,凑成了丰富的早餐。时菜牛肉球,吃得出有陈皮香,味道亦都对办,但系三粒牛肉之中只有一粒混入了马蹄,很不均匀。我还是喜欢有陈皮香又有爽口马蹄的牛肉球,口感会较为丰富。所谓的招牌虾饺皇,皮是劲厚,吃起来也是干巴巴的。虾不很大只,但味道尚算可以,还加入了笋在内。说差嘛,不是,却肯定算不上好吃。称之为「招牌」,似乎有点牵强。萝卜糕的萝卜份量很足,可是腊味的成份太少,感觉不合比例,而且煎得不够香口,只属中规中矩。叉烧酥相对好得多。送上来时仍是热呼呼,看上去很丰满的,咬落亦十分松化。虽然馅料的叉烧唔系好多,但不会太甜,感觉不错。但原来,这已是全日最出色的一款点心。呀!除了牛肉球,还有黑椒牛仔骨。起码不会有一阵雪味,质感不韧,容易咬开,且带著黑椒的辛辣味。然而,垫底的芋头,又大又硬,犹如两大旧砖头般,叫人怎吃呀?最后是两款怀旧点心,怀旧鱼翅饺同埋灌汤饺。前者干过我荷包,里头满是猪肉馅,没见到半条仿翅,令人恼火;至于灌汤饺,其实就是汤灌饺,一盅汤浸著只饺,而馅料像是溶溶烂烂的猪肉咁,看见也不想食。估都估唔到这旧式酒家的怀旧点心,会是这样糟糕的。喝完朋友带来的私伙水仙,便要离开。要赶下场呀!靓女朋友抢著埋单,不争了,说声多谢好了。或可参考:http://fabricelau.blogspot.com/2011/04/blog-post_26.html?utm_source=BP_recent 继续阅读

西环的新中华,是其中一个"老字号",起码坐西环小巴,一叫新中华有落,个司机会明白.上一次到新中华是外卖烧味,如果要数到上一次在新中华堂食,要回到千禧年头,与几位朋友在此晚饭.早前曾经有好几次入来想找个位饮茶,但每一次来,不论平日假日,早上也是坐满人.找个位搭都难,是日早上刚好找到近门口的空位.即刻坐下,无须调头.点心不花巧,没有点心纸给你,只有走出去点心车,看到有什么就吃什么.结果,拿了珍珠鸡,凤爪,蒸粉果,棉花鸡回来.没有虾饺烧卖,也没有相干.凤爪够惹味,珍珠鸡内很足料,糯米不是黐立立,粉果外皮厚薄适中,包著的虾肉爽甜,棉花鸡的吸引力,永远是鱼肚.四味点心加浓茶,报纸送点心,非常阿叔格,事实上时下年青人,很少会独个儿,或与同辈朋友上酒楼品茗,因为感觉老土,要吃点心,不如去点心店?要看报纸,上网用iPAD睇都得.但我很守旧,还是享受拿著报纸,去叹茶的感觉.自己用茶壶冲茶,拿报纸拿到一手墨,感觉始终比较实在.埋单时女掌柜好奇一问:{我见你拿住部相机左影右影.你系咪在外地回来?}我:{当然唔系啦,系十年无来过,上次都未装修............}说罢,扬长而去. 继续阅读

i had been to lin heung for too many times and this week, we had decided to seek a new location for our sunday morning yum cha. my ma and i noticed this outstanding chinese restaurant when we visited 'cheung heung' for breakfast. she said it has a long history and my grandma used to visit it too. we had little problem finding a seat, although we had to share a table with other eldery people - matter of fact the average age there was around 60, and i was the youngest at that place until a young child came and beat my record.we had to help ourselves with dim sums-ah jie guarded the centralized steamer where bamboo 'loons' were being put on top to maintain their freshness. we started out meal with three lotus seed buns. they looked not very nice due to the color and the fillings were not as sweeet as those you get from lin heung. but its already a lot better than those you get from ordinary 'hea' chinese restaurants.next we got ourselves shrimp dumplings, a must-have item for a yum-cha experience. the dumpling was not thick but the shrimp did not taste fresh.last my dad and ma shared a 'min fa guai jat' when i was already too full to eat. they said it was average. the environment was not particularly good as there were quite a lot of people waiting. plus you have to share a table if you do not have enough heads to dominate one big round table.one good thing is that the dim sums are all pipping hot as they were just fresh off the steamer. but if i were asked whether i would come again, i would say no for this restaurant is just average in all aspects except perhaps the appearance of it. 继续阅读

成家人出街,发现搬到西环两年有多后,都未食过佢.就决定黎试一下.班头腩, 煲他上, 好够热, 火腩过咸, 班头腩足料, 但味道普通. 可以 脆皮蒜香鸡, 好细只, 肉几滑但冇乜味!鲍参翅肚鲞, 88数窝都预左系平料. 正常水平.冇特别记忆. 介兰炒腊味. 唔算够镬气, 又系不过不失.咕噜肉,冷冷地,太淋唔脆,唔多得.送糖水, 红豆沙稍可以.但都好稀, 西米露,怪味冇椰汁服务:楼上转角位经理服务不错, 野食系一次过黎晒, 但每味都唔特别亦唔叫好食但又唔难食. 不过以依个价钱,西环新开既尝喜, 旧有既德记, 会比依间所谓老店更值得食. 基本上都唔打算再回头. 继续阅读

星期六去咗西环新中华饮茶,点心整体味道一般。凰爪唔够入味;叉烧包馅料少唔好食;粥品味道麻麻;烧卖、虾饺、排骨等OK。叫了一客海鲜炒饭,饭粒略为硬身,海鲜有鱼、虾、带子等,全部细细粒,份量尚算合理。要饮茶,应唔难揾到更好选择。P.S. 洗手间好污糟,要扣卫生分。 继续阅读
