I have been craving for cha siu rice for quite some time. After visiting a cafe in Kowloon City, I took a little walk to San Po Kong to try out The Master of Cha Siu for an early dinner.Even though the signature of The Master of Cha Siu should be cha siu — BBQ pork, but on the menu, there are dishes with pork cooked with various methods. The “fatty cha siu” wasn’t really greasy nor fat like ordinary fat cha siu. Yet, it’s very juicy and tender, nom nom!
The sunny side up definitely stole the thunder of cha siu! The crispy side brought back so much childhood memories as my granny used to fried eggs like that. And the runny egg yolk made perfect dressing for the rice together with the sweet soy sauce. Absolutely amazing!
There was also a complementary hot drink with the rice. For HKD$58, it’s definitely a great meal which brings so much comfort.
