If you come here for lunch, you need to come early. We arrived at 12:30 pm and we got the last table.I had my all time favourite - fish & chips, which is one of the very rare good fish & chips in HKBut I think I had too much oily stuff, so I had to cleanse it off with my Earl Grey tea.

If you like a clubby atmosphere, large comfy chairs, and no nonsense British food, this is the place.For appetizers, they serve a huge piece of goose liver pate with chopped aspic, large enough for two. It is ideal for sharing if you like this dish but are a bit worried about the fat content and cholestrol. Unlike most restaurants who tend to use duck liver nowadays, they use goose liver, which gives a much more refined taste. It is great served with buttered toast.For mains, I go for their roas

Dinner with friends at The Chinnery in Mandarin Oriental, it’s a very cozy place to hang out with closed friends. Food there was very good and they served authentic British Pub Food. Not many to choose from the menu but enough choices. We tried their Steak & Ale Pie (it’s huge), very tasty Fish & Chips and classic Banger & Mash. 我和同事一行三人在6 June 2008 Friday 到這裏食lunch.這裏只能Walk-in, and First-come-First-serve,沒有訂位服務,就算是熟客,都冇例外.... 所以我地唯有11.45離開office,12.20分到達,好好彩咁攞到最後一張枱.環境幾好,裝修有英國Feel,燈光分暗但恰到好處,有和諧的感覺. 聽說,1990年代,這裏只供男仕使用的 Men's Club,之後才讓女仕進入一同用膳,故此, 都頗有男人feel的格局.當天我們開了一枝紅酒,分別order了..... 前菜 -- 1) Smoke Salmon ; 2) 芝士湯. 主菜係.. 1)牛排拼Ribs; 2) Indian Curry beef w/ rice + Indian Pizza; 3) Beef Strangnoff w/ Mash Potato.個Appetizer very good, Smoke-Salmon係最多人order的,因為隨付3 款配料....湯都好味,有濃的芝士味,好香,又唔膩.Main-Course -- 1) 牛排拼Ribs -- 賣相

跟朋友黎呢度同佢d老友吹水, 覺得裝修好有英倫feel, 好似以前d男人食完飯食雪茄傾生意既地方咁. 聽朋友講以前呢度係只做男人生意, 但而家梗係放寬左啦!朋友叫左隻威士忌俾我, 一般啦! 佢地就歎埋雪茄. 不過成檯得我一個女子, 令我完全感受到呢度係男人既世界!!

據我前老細講, Chinnery Bar以前係唔俾女人入的, 所以我第一次陪佢去飲嘢 有些唔自在!之後的一次係同BF嚟 食﹐我地都曾在英國寄宿﹐lee度的食物就係我地以前食的一樣! 所以我特地叫左個Shepard's Pie 來懷緬吓! BF 就話lee度的Roast Beef係全HK最好的﹐我試左一啖後就後悔無叫到! 不過我個Shepard's Pie都好好食呀!甜品我要Apple Crumble﹐又係玩懷緬﹐hee hee!!

飲咁貴就係因為開左支香檳。尋日帶住個同事同兩個客去happy hour，佢地未到5點已經在這裡飲緊。呢度雖然望唔到街，地方高檔同有氣派，正經得來唔拘謹，我們四人在埋面的疏化椅位，幾cosy。送酒小吃有三小碟，放在一個幾精緻的銀轉盤上，內容不外乎是花生甜脆圈等；叫左兩樣小吃，炸咖哩羊肉角味道好好，呢味送啤酒好正。蟹餅都唔錯，不過就比羊肉角遜色左些少。價錢連加一要過百，其實真的一點也不「小」。除了飲啤酒，大家興致好好，仲開左支香檳，門市賣三百幾的呢度要近七百，不過來得呢度又唔計得咁多。貴為高級酒店，收得premium的價錢，侍應生的服務當然有番咁上下。埋單一千零幾，記憶所及都好少飲咁貴的happy hour 。
