Boyfriend and I found ourselves in Tsuen Wan after a super hot photo walk day. Boyfriend said he wanted to find this place as it was recommended from his coworker who said the potato croquettes were amazing. It was the most bizarre shop. Outside looked like it sold stationary, but inside there was a microwave oven, a lone stove and a pot. An elderly couple were inside. There was no menu of what they served, no sign saying they had food but there were a couple of foldable tables and chairs were outside the shop. But it seemed people that lived in this area knew what to order as a group of boys just getting off school filed in, asked for noodles with sauce and various satay sticks. It seemed everything you wanted to order was seen in plastic boxes. You pointed and they reheated for you. Yes, this is very ghetto. From left to right: satay sticks, potato croquette, bean curd stick and the square thing we weren't sure and when asked, the elderly man didn't really answer. clearly. Just said pork.Boyfriend decided on the potato croquette and the bean curd stick. They reheated in the microwave and put it in a white bag.The elderly lady cut up the bean curd stick. Inside was actually ground pork meat wrapped in bean curd. There was a serving of satay sauce. The bean curd stick was ok, but it was the satay sauce that was amazing. Rich and fragrant with a touch of spice. There was also a generous addition of peanuts for added texture. Something missing in many higher end Indonesian restaurants. This is how satay sauce should taste like. Too bad there wasn't enough!Potato croquette had pork inside. I found it too dry and didn't like it.Really doubt I'd return because I don't remember how to get there.
