We arrived right around 6PM, when the restaurant opened, since we had looked forward to eating KBBQ. However, the experience we had was, for the lack of better a better word, poor. To begin: the hygiene here is just awful—we ended up asking for replacement bowls and cups as we could see scum in them when we filled them with water, to which the staff responded by giving us paper cups and plastic bowls. Such occurrences seem to be commonplace, as the next table also had identical paper cups. Don’t bother coming here unless you feel like being a dishwasher on top of a restaurant patron. Also, since the cleanliness of the cutlery is so dubious, it does make me wonder about this place’s food safety. The attitudes of the staff are also… interesting? The way they respond to requests and questions about salt, bowls, and the menu almost make it seem like they don’t want you to dine here. Quite dismissive. Onto the food: it’s alright. Though, for the price you’re paying, you could be doing much better. Spend that $150 per dish on the Genki next door instead. I sure wish I did. Firstly, there was no semblance of oil provided for the grill, which meant that, despite being supposedly fatty pork belly, the first batch of meat stuck to the grill like it’s life depended on it. I’d also be careful with the chicken, if you still decide to order some after reading this review, since the lack of oil means chicken burns quickly and easily. Secondly, the quality of the meat leaves much to be desired. The pork belly was quite skinny, to the point where it was sad; the beef rose we ordered came without sauce, which a server corrected afterward; and the beef was quite fatty, though not in the way you’d like it to be.Altogether not a great experience, and I have already warned my loved ones against coming for the sake of their health.
