Rising Star of Contemporary Korean Restaurant

Oouli is one of a few Korean fine-dining restaurants in the city. It is a modern Korean restaurant delivering an interpretation of the diverse Korean culinary culture. The Korean-born chef blends Korean ingredients with Western culinary techniques and presentation to make the tasting menu worth the try.“Oouli Bu Gak” consists of two kinds of seaweed, one is crispy and the other is green laver which melts in the mouth, this is the perfect pre-dinner snack accompanied by homemade Korean style tricolour sauce."Deul Kkae- Juk" is one of my favourites from the tasting menu, it is made with beef, clam and Korean Seasonal vegetables. According to the chef, Koreans used to cook such porridge to welcome guests, preparing their stomachs before eating spicy or cold food. A large piece of crispy rice chip is added as a topping to enhance the taste and aroma."Han-Ip" is something I have never tried before, this dish consists of acorn jelly cut into flowers, and it is soaked into a sour sauce, making it a great appetizing treat. The acorn jelly is paired with an octopus and deep-fried tofu seaweed sandwich."Bo Yang-Sig" is a ginseng chicken soup risotto, and these are my top three favourites from the tasting menu. The risotto is rich in ginseng chicken soup flavor. I am impressed by the chef who blends Korean dishes with western culinary techniques. It comes with ginseng slices and red date rolls and pine nuts, gorgeously presented."Jill-Tang" is definitely my favourite, it is a seafood soup with burnt Busan abalone. The soup is super sweet, paired with abalone and a hint of chilli powder. The foam on top of the soup is long-lasting in contrast to the clear soup at the bottom."Jagal-Chi" is served with seasonal Korean fish sashimi, consisting of flounder fish, 72-hour soy sauce-soaked prawns and fresh salmon. It comes with their homemade seafood sauce, which enhances the taste but not overpowering the freshness of the seafood itself."Jan Chi" consists of three selections, and I picked the roasted freshwater eel and the 36 hours slow cooked Jeju pork belly. The roasted freshwater eel tastes interesting as it is served with ginger mashed potato and spicy seafood sauce, I would not recommend it if you are not a fan of ginger. However, I like the combination of the pork belly. It is recommended to wrap the pork belly with perilla leaves and add the homemade barbecue sauce. The lean portion of the pork is tender and the fat portion melts right in your mouth, the perilla leaves and pickled radish add another layer of sweetness to the meat."JinSu- Sung Chen" is presented directly by the chef Jim himself, he cooks Busan own farm rice in the pressure cooker directly in front of you, and it comes with eel soup and five types of special Banchen. The precious Busan rice is sweet and delicious! Makes it a good bowl of rice and pairs perfectly with the eel soup. The five types of pickled vegetables are pickled by the chef's mother, including black beans, perilla leaves, burdock, chilli peppers and spicy fish sticks."Hu-Sig" completely amazed me. The glutinous rice cake waffle is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The homemade ice cream adds sweetness to the waffle and this dessert perfectly sums up the wonderful meal experience.…さらに見る

Definitely a paradise for meat lovers

As a meat lover, I always want to eat mouth melting beef! In this restaurant, I have the option to cook your own meal which is a fun experience with friends and family. Barbecue is a beloved meal across Asia, and Hong Kongers definitely love this all-you-can-eat feast. The restaurant environment is spacious and comfortable, there are many people even on weekdays night.Anping Roast Pork can be described as a paradise for beef lovers. The Australian M5 Wagyu All-you-can-eat set meal has 16 types of pure beef. The main feature meat is the Australian M5 Wagyu beef which is rich in fat. Whilst the angus beef and U.S. SRF ultra-black beef have a strong flavor. The restaurant’s special Anping gold sauce with buried lettuce adds a more prominent meat flavor!In addition to roast beef, there are a variety of dishes to choose from, including various Taiwanese snacks, rice with sakura and shrimp, and special cold-brewed tea. The sweet and delicious prawns are in the size of a palm of the hand. My favourite pick is Pingtung Grilled Fish Belly. The fish belly is tender, and is slow-roasted on a tin foil plate with the special marinaded sauce, which is super delicious.The order I placed was delivered quickly, and they filled up all the plates with a very beautiful high-quality barbecued pork. There are disposable aprons at the table; there are many hot pot ingredients session and drinks bar.And what surprise me the most is their complementary dessert! Quality steakhouse with good value
CARNE’S ARGENTINIAN STEAK HOUSE

Carne's is a restaurant in Sheung Wan specialised in Argentinian steak. Warm welcome by the staff, we sat down in the modern bistro with Argentinian inspired decoration. The staff first introduced us their menu, they were very friendly and never made us feel like we had to rush. As a meat-lovers, their Argentinian beef is very tempting to try. Argentinian steaks are cut differently based on the texture of different parts of the cow, which leads to a better flavour. Overall, I am very pleased with the dining experience at Carne’s. Good environment, well as great steak excellently prepared by the chef, therefore it is a good value for money.-The famous veggie ceviche salad is worth digging into before the meal as it tantalise my taste buds and boost my appetite. It is made of sweet corn, red onion, coriander and tiger milk dressing.I personally enjoy the Sirloin steak the best as this is a fatty, thick beef cut that is literally dripping with flavour. The steaks are paired with their chimichurri sauce made with parsley, onion, garlic, salt, pepper and oregano. The crispy golden Skinny fries comes to the table with the steak. I paired my steak with a glass of Malbec red wine from Argentine, since the fattier cuts pair up with high tannin wines can cut through the fat. This make my dinning experience more sophisticated.The chocolate coated cookies with fillings in between are served with vanilla ice cream. Instagrammable, delicious and filling, all in one

This photogenic restaurant is now moved to a better location at To Kwa Wan! Located at a brand new commercial podium, it takes only 5 mins of walk from the mtr station to the restaurant. Aiming to create an artistic dining experience, the entrance design is inspired by kaleidoscope. They limited the number of people to enter the restaurant in order to maintain the quality of experience. After entering the restaurant, a very instagrammable spot enters into our eyes, the space is filled with colourful and girly decoration. Other than its unique interior design, all their foods are very tempting as well. Although there are many food on offer here, we particularly recommend trying their dessert, which is good looking, delicious and filling. This is the perfect dishes to begin with, make sure to eat the mussels with the white cream sauce with a loaf go crusty toast since the sauce is packed with flavour. When combined mussels with the sauce, the result is decadent and absolutely moreish!The pork lion rack is juicy although it appears to be slightly overcooked and not seasoned well, however their outrageously delicious honey garlic sauce makes everything better. It even match perfectly with the crispy sweet potato fries. Sicilian pasta is the perfect pasta dish for summer with fresh seafood. The pasta is prepared with rigatoni, eggplants fried to perfection and excellent tomatoes. The main topping is of course the huge king prawn, sliced in half. Coated with thin chocolate wafers, the Tartufo Caffe with cream blended perfectly with honeycomb and Meringue. This is the most memorable dishes in the whole meal. It not just taste well but they plate desserts like a pro! No wonder their dessert is their signature as it really does excite the senses.…さらに見る

Favourite Korean cafe in my neighbourhood

Sinsa-dong bathhouse is a Korean cafe & bar, located near Cheung Sha Wan Sports Centre. As its name suggested, the interior design aligns with the Korean bathhouse theme and there are lots of nice photo spots and decorations for you to take cute photos! Other than its unique design, all their foods are very tempting which took us a while to pick. In the end, we decided to order their 2 people set which includes their signature Korean fried chicken, budae jjigae with pork, a dessert, and two drinks. Korean Fried Chicken is their well-known dish, known for its crispiness and juiciness. The chicken is well-sauced with garlic soy sauce and done just right, leaving with crispy skin and juicy meats. You can freely pick with the type of meat you want in the budae jjigae, but we picked pork this time. The portion is quite big. It comes in a giant pot with a spicy soup base and many ingredients, including pork, ice cake, spam, sausage, noodles, and vegetable. Recommend sharing it with friends and family! Their croffle is the best I have ever tried in Hong Kong and can always surprise me with their new flavors. On top of the welly toasted croffle, there is rich and creamy custard with a layer of crispy caramelized sugar. Also, with the perfect ratio of the topping and croffle, as well as the sweetness level, it is such a nice way to finish up the meal! It is definitely a super refreshing drink from the menu with a rose scent on top of the soda. It is a good combo with fried chicken and budae jjigae as it helps to balance out the grazziness.…さらに見る

Offers a variety of Southern American dishes

Amusement Eatery is a new restaurant in Cheung Sha Wan that specialised in South American cuisine. It offers both indoor and outdoor seats, but since the weather is quite humid lately, we chose an indoor area. The overall atmosphere is quite lively, decorated with neon lights and wine shelves. The menu also provides a variety of choices, from pasta to pizza to meat and skewers, had a hard time choosing! This is definitely one of their signature dishes on the menu. The chicken is perfectly well roasted and seasoned with spice while keeping the meat really juicy and tender. It also serves roasted veggies, like potato, carrot, corn, etc, so it is perfect to share among the two! These skewers surprised me with the tender and juicy pork. Combined with sweet pineapple and bell pepper, it balanced out the oiliness of the pork. Recommended to try! The sashimi is super fresh and crunchy. It really boosted my appetite since it was also mixed with fresh onion, chili, coriander, and lime juice, the taste is quite unique I would say! Chill bar with perfectly cooked food

Double 8 Bar and Restaurant is located near Tin Hau, specializing in western cuisine. Although the restaurant size is not as big, the atmosphere is quite chill and relaxing with the dusky red lighting. The pork belly was grilled perfectly without losing the juiciness inside. Although it is a pork belly, it does not taste greasy. Instead, it melts in your mouth. With the proper control of seasoning and apple gravy sauce as sides, it gives a rich taste and balances out the oiliness of the pork belly. The mashed potato is also very creamy and smooth, which goes well with the main. The 88* Buffalo Wings are my favorite, covered in hot sauce and served with celery sticks. The wings are well-sauced and done just right, with the skin a bit crispy and the meat juicy, which makes for a heavenly delight. I can imagine it being better with a cold drink ordered from the bar! Penne Arabiata has always been my preferred choice for pasta; unlike other tomato sauces, there is a hint of spiciness with garlic, tomatoes, and dried red chili peppers. The Penne Arabiata here are well cooked. I am mainly surprised by the slow-cooked chicken breast as it can be easily dried out, but this one did not, which matches the pasta super well! Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the whole dinner experience and will recommend this bar and restaurant to people who wish to chill with their friends after work with a nice drink and meal!…さらに見る

Korean restaurant that you have to try out

Oppa Coffee Bar Restaurant has always been on my to-try list and I finally got the chance to visit this famous restaurant! It is located in Kimberley Street, TST, also known as the “Korean Street” in Hong Kong. The overall atmosphere is quite chill and gives out the Korean vibe, totally recommended to people who miss traveling to Korea! Octopus Volcano is one of their signature dishes, with melted grilled cheese and unique favoring. The waiter melted the cheese in front of us and mixed the cheese perfectly with the kimchi fried rice. The texture of the fried rice is very rich, smooth, and mushy. You can taste everything in one go. Definitely recommended ordering! Since the Octopus Volcano is a bit heavy, we decided to go for a warm fish cake soup for the balance. The portion is quite big with different kinds of fish cake, radish, and a hard-boiled egg. Their fish cakes are really chewy and well flavored with the Bonitos soup base. Overall, it is an enjoyable experience with delicious food served, along with K-pop music as background. It tends to be really busy at night, so I would suggest you come in early.…さらに見る

I ordered their classic charcoal coffee because it look fabulous. It provided a beautiful contrast to the milk, which accentuated the latte art. Need to bare in mind that it is a non-caffeine latte with a special aroma and thick texture. I believe it’s good to health as the charcoal in their coffee had a detoxifying effects.While the sandwiches options are great, I opt for the main dishes instead. Since their mains portion are generous and are beautifully presented. The Angus beef cube spaghetti with pesto sauce was nicely presented. Really enjoy the soft Angus beef, because I knew the less chewy beef cube is hard to cook perfectly. The pesto sauce is slightly salty but it doesn’t really affect how flavourful the spaghetti is.Would love to try their toast next time as you can pick your own favourite ingredients to form your customised toast set!The cafe is double volume with a small loft on the second floor. Friendly cafe for both vegan and non-vegan people

Orka Restaurant & Cafe is a casual western eatery specializing in vegan-friendly dishes and their unique CPD coffee. Every single dishes in Orka are very tempting to try, and I had a hard time picking. In the end, I picked their signature dishes Matcha Pancake with Bacon and Egg Benedict Toast, on top with their famous CPD Cappuccino and Mocha. Their dishes are not only delicious but also super healthy and highly nitrous. The Macha Pancake is really fluffy and since it serves with black berry sauce, it adds a refreshing taste to it. Their CPD Cappuccino is definitely recommended, especially in the morning when you feel tired. It will boost your energy level for sure. This restaurant just launched a couple of weeks ago and its location is very convenient, a 5-minute walk from the Central MTR station. The owner in Orka is very thoughtful. He understands that it is quite difficult to find a restaurant in Hong Kong that is friendly for both vegan and non-vegan people. Hence, each item on their menu has both the normal version and vegan version, and you do not need to worry about that anymore. The overall experience is great and the atmosphere in Orka is quite chill and relaxing. All their staff is super friendly and there is also a product line of organic food for purchase. I am so overwhelmed knowing that phi cafe is opened in business district area! I tried their other branches before and this new branch didn’t disappoint me, it even exceeded my expectations.They are famous for their fluffy japanese souffle pancakes. It is like eating cottony clouds that melt perfectly in your mouth. Fluffy, airy, delicate pancakes are perfect for Sunday afternoon tea. The extra flavor boost from chocolate make the pancake I ordered even more irresistible. It is sided with chocolate wrapped cream and nama chocolate truffle.Of course I did order their coffee and dessert. To have a new experience on modern fusion cuisine, this restaurant serve delicious Thai & Vietnamese & Hong Kongese dishes with very reasonable price. Their Pad Thai is made with the best-ever recipe and being tossed in a delicious homemade pad Thai sauce! It’s is texture with a fried egg layer and makes it photogenic.Laksa, the noodle dish popular in Southeast Asia, consists of various types of toppings such as chicken, prawn with thick rice noodles. Their recipe is prepared with a less rich and spicy coconut broth.Highly recommend their yellow curry thick toast, the toast itself is soft and with crispy and evenly browned crust. I like how it layered with their yellow curry, as the bread soak with the rich curry flavour. Making it becomes my favourite one in this restaurant.…さらに見る
