I got a few flavours including the matcha tart. The tarts were okay.The service, though, is horrid. The cashier pretended not to notice me. She actually made eye contact with me then looked away. She looked so angry that a customer dare walk in during business hours that I just stood there for a while, not daring to call her over a second time. Then when she finally decided to address my presence, she messed up my small order in several ways. There’s a new delicious Japanese restaurant in Tseung Kwan O. It feels pretty spacious with a high degree of privacy at each table.My favourite of the night was the pot with fish and rice. The pot is surprisingly larger than it looks as its quite deep inside, and there was a ton of rice in it. I had to take away the leftovers. The pearl rice was cooked just right and soaked in all the flavour of the fish and sauces.The crispy shrimp tempura was another item I particularly enjoyed, as were the oysters! There was a TON of pork floss and crispy bits inside, and it wasn’t overly oily. The medium size was big and filling already, and there’s actually no small size. It’s M/L/XL.On another day I came back and ordered a large Peking duck pancake which was massive! The risotto was really watery, as in I could find a pond of liquid at the bottom of the risotto’s centre. Even the soup didn’t taste so great. Vegetable soup from your local cha chan tang tastes better. I wouldn’t call the food “western” but even for HK-style “western” food, it’s not worth your money at all.…查看更多

We politely declined because of the pandemic going on. She immediately got angry and loudly asked a customer outside whether he minded sharing a table. He minded too. But another customer behind him didn't mind and got seated right next to us. No plastic partition was moved over. There aren’t many good restaurants in Kai Tak yet because it’s a very new area, so La Mensa is a godsend to residents of the district. It isn’t just good by the district’s lack-of-food standards, it really exceeded my expectations with its food and friendly staff!When the ribs arrived, we tried to tell the staff they got our order wrong because we ordered a half portion, but it turns out that their servings are just generous! This was a lot of two people, so I think with a group of three to four people a half-portion might do, depending on what else you’re ordering. I found this amazing hidden gem all the way in Tuen Mun inside a nunnery! The food is very reasonably priced. They use fresh local vegetables and the pasta was al dente. The amaranth pasta was my favourite, followed by the amaranth mushroom pie whiched arrived still sizzling hot with bubbles. This is definitely worth a visit if you live on this side of Hong Kong, or as part of your day trip if you don’t live nearby.…查看更多

The evening started with a bowl of abalone, celery, hijiki seaweed, menegi, and small hanaho flowers. This was paired with an equally floral drink that also matched perfectly in flavour.Every time I come, the sashimi is consistently marvellous, especially the uni and tuna. And I always love the soup here. Non-fast food burgers usually come a lot more expensive, but venture into Cheung Sha Wan for cheaper food of high quality.Most of the time, eating burgers is a clumsy affair, with all the sauce dripping down my hands. Besides that inconvenience, with the Covid situation now, I feel better not eating directly with my hands. The sandwich was a wonderful start to my morning. I ordered a club sandwich. The bread was grilled crispily and the runny egg was perfect. It was pretty cheap too. A lot of coffee shops have expensive menus, but this one is completely unpretentious. The first appetizer was basmati puffed rice and caviar in lime and vanilla. I really like puffed rice so it wasa delightful start to the night. The second appetizer was prawn and Granny Smith apple decorated with edible flowers. I found the sour tasterefreshing.The sour dough bread is famous here and rightfully so. We dipped it in some of the remaining lobster sauce whichwas too good to waste.  The olive oil that comes with the sour dough is not to be overlooked, though! It’s an olive oil that’s exclusiveto 3 restaurants in the world. Under one of the seafood dishes was celeriac noodles which I hadn’t tried before. I had the Japanese curry prawn rice and it was amazing! The prawn tempura was SO crispy and thick. The food is a tiny, tiny bit above average but a good deal for this district. The service isn’t so good though. The woman wasn’t outright rude but consistently made you feel like you weren’t welcome. I already got that feeling when booking on the phone, and when we arrived we got the same attitude.
