The restaurant nested at the end of a small corridor in sai ying pun. The seatings are horrible, not only are the space being very tight , the table is uneven , the chair is extremely uncomfortable also. The restaurant is surrounded by very oldBldgs , and my body is filled with mosquito bites. Food is ok, not bad, upper average for fusion. we spent around 900 per pax for dinner. But for this price , it needs to do better. At the very least, I sldnt need to balance myself on the skimpy chair. Not sure why all the raving reviews. I had the 8 shades (no wine pairing). The food is not exceptional consider the price of the set. It is acceptable to say the best. Not fine dining quality, hence, I am not sure why the raving reviews. Start off with the bread, the quality is poor. Is not fresh and the croissant is borderline poor. It started off with some sort of a Small pear thing as amuse bouche, is tangy but no real flavor; then it’s the scallop , thinly sliced and slightly overcooked. It is rough to palette. I have never had a fine dining place that cannot cook good scallop. The small shrimp on a big place is fine, the shrimp is fresh but the sauce comes on the side just don’t go well with it. There was also some dish with the caviar, with some bird nest on it, and it sits on a bunch of squash like stuff. Why on earth would you put a bunch of flavorless weird bird nest stuff on a bunch of caviar? The caviar carries very mild taste, but the bottom and top squashy things really kill the dish. The main is the Kagoshima beef. It’s good but you can’t say is exceptional. The chef tends to use very fruity sauce like pear on every dish, it gets boring. The desert is some coconut thingy, and the petit four is a biscuit and a dome shape small gel that looks like it has too much neon artificial colouring. Both are bad, it taste bad and it looks cheap. The bill was over 2000 for two. If you have a sophisticated palette, you will be disappointed. The food quality and the attentiveness to the preparation just don’t live up to this price point. I have been to this restaurant many times for both lunch and dinner. Recently they had the new Japanese grill. I have never tried that and can't comment on that. I had though tried the semi buffet for both lunch and dinner numerous times. The buffet was good before, you have a good selection of seafood and a you can order a main course. It used to comes with soup and desert in the self select buffet table but not anymore. The last time I went , the appetiser buffet table resort to a small party table , sitting pathetically behind their new section which catered for Japanese grill. The selection is limited , not only that , the seafood is not fresh at all ! One of the mussel I had turned bad. Our main course is extremely over cooked. The meat has no flavour and is very rough. The mashed potatoes was so salty. I basically didn't eat the plate. The desert is also not good. Instead of self select in the buffet table. They allow you to select the desert on their cart. The desert has also deteriorated a lot. It looks good but tasted Awful as well. I rarely had such an overall poor experience in a semi buffet and theirs had always been decent. They us Perhaps they had changed the chef ? The only good dish they served today was the soup and bread. I remembered they used to have cheese , foie gras , waffle and a lot of good stuff! But not anymore!! You now also need to order the osyster. It tasted fresh but you need to request it everytime. I would prob not go again for a short while. It's a pity ! …さらに見る
