attracted by a lot of ads on social media, my friend and i booked a table for lunch. the restaurant looked rly fancy, giving a vintage diner vibe. we had high expectations for this place because of all the overflowing posts about it and the hype lately. food was alright overall, generous portion, sufficient options, yet disappointing service. actually most staff members were ok, but one was ruined our experience there.since i had some sudden changes of plans in the morning, i tried to modify my booking by pushing back our reservation by an hour. i clicked into the link but it says we couldn’t modify online but we could only call directly. well so we called, for over 20 times by my friend and i separately at different time intervals. the call didn’t get through, so we emailed them and also sent them a dm on ig. again, no replies. we just wanted to notify the restaurant about our changes and to check whether they could accommodate our later time slot. yet, no replies via any sorta platforms were received.once we got there, we politely told the lady at the front desk about our situation and her response was “so what do u want now?” wow that’s the most mind-blowing question i could hear from a restaurant. i asked calmly, “just wondering if there’s a table available now?” she said “you have to order immediately though” then walked us to a table at a corner. wow again such a demand from this front desk lady. extremely unwelcoming. honestly by then this place already left a terrible impression on me. her service was truly questionable.seeing that most tables were empty anyways, we asked another staff lady (a hk lady i believe) whether we could have a more photographic and comfortable spot. she promptly replied sure with a smile. only after 50% of our dining experience that we finally felt the service was normal to decent. another white man was also kind since he actively asked whether we wanted a picture. the kind lady asked what knife numbers did we pick and we were like what numbers? she looked really surprised that no one brought us over to the knife picking area beforehand. not only her, but i was also very confused.overall food was great and the dessert was such a highlight, very refreshing and creamy, but that particular staff member honestly pulled down our whole dining experience by a mile. would not revisit anytime soon.…查看更多

food was yum and reasonably priced. this is my second visit to this restaurant. food was great still, but the waiters and waitresses were unprofessional and poorly trained.first, when i called them to try to make a booking. they rejected it impolitely with a rude tone.when we got there, we waited for a few tables and quickly got a seat. while the waiter was walking us to our table, he was casually talking to his other colleagues?? and we stopped in the middle of the restaurant with no further guidance. after our food got here, we asked for some extra milk and sugar for our drinks. the waiter only served us milk but forgot about the sugar. after 10 mins, we reminded him of the sugar again. on his way to our table, he dropped our sugar packet on the floor right in front of us, and still handed it to us regardless. we didn’t complain since we didn’t want to make a scene.a very weird and bizarre experience. the waiters and waitresses there had a questionable way of handling situations.:(…查看更多

i feel like the hype of sushiro is fading and i’m glad that it also means a shorter queue and wait time.visited the whampoa branch at 4pm on a saturday and we only waited for 5 mins! ordered a lot and it was $200pp. not super cheap but v reasonable. similar price and quality as genki i’d say. sushiro has better desserts but genki has a membership system which always makes the bill cheaper as a person that doesn’t eat sashimi, i rly like their desserts (i can have 3 at a time!) and hope that they’ll come out with more cooked food :)…查看更多

it was a pleasant and elegant dinner experience overall. we were first greeted with some welcoming drinks (uncharged). there were 4 wine selections in total, pretty considerate of them!the interior was very beautifully designed, with a hint of old palace vibe. on top of that, the panoramic view of the victoria harbour makes the place look perfectly balanced between modern and historic architecture.service was great and the staff surely contributed to the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere! they kindly introduced the menu and were able to make conversations in both canto and english.price range was very reasonable given its located at a 5-star hotel. food quality was not bad and there were some creative dishes as well. i especially enjoyed the oxtail soup (it was so rich!) and the lasagna - the freshest lasagne i’ve had, with white sauce and lots of greens. rly small portion though 😅 just a thin slice. rice balls were fine and not particularly worth trying. would like to try the black meat balls tho. they look so cool!well done, carna! would love to revisit and try the big-cuts with more people next time. a great celebratory dinner spot, would appreciate if a polaroid photo is taken tho haha :)$1000 pp which included an appetiser, a 300g rib-eye, lasagna, side dish, dessert, red wine 🍷 …查看更多

tried the signature sea salt caramel shaved ice with popcorn 🍿 the whole cup consisted of around 6 (or more) different ingredients; pudding, shaved ice, sea salted cream, caramel sauce, popcorn, condensed milk. i wasn’t sure how we were supposed to eat it since the first bite i ate was the ice and it was tasteless by itself. popcorn was fresh and crispy on the side. the cream and condensed milk (which i only found out at the end of the meal) added rich flavours to the shaved ice. the pudding was my least favourite ingredient if i had to rank it.i think guidelines could be printed on each table or staff could deliver verbal instructions to teach customers to eat in the appropriate way step by step.…查看更多
