The food is quite tasty - fresh and well balanced. You won't leave hungry, and my friend and I were fully satisfied. However, it's really not a cheap place - the main cold soba dish with tofu was $170. That seemed a bit steep. Overall, with one shared appetizer and one main each, without drinks or dessert, the meal was $220 or so per person for lunch. In terms of service, the restaurant still seems to be sorting out their systems - a lot of things feel quite manual and don't feel like they're operating at a "commercial" pace (order taking, food preparation, etc.). The water glasses are also so tiny that you constantly need them refilled - they maybe fit 100-150ml each? But the service is not fast enough to keep the glasses filled ... Bathroom had no soap until I asked for it, and rusty liquid came out of the container so it clearly had not been filled / used in a long time. We ordered 3 dishes for brunch - the full english breakfast, pancakes, and the salad libertine. The full English breakfast was good. The pancakes were alright - not very fluffy and tasted a bit like box mix. The salad was terrible - oily, tasteless and veggies that were not fresh (brown and dried). The service was appalling. We told the server and manager that the salad was tasteless and oily, and the manager simply said that's the way the salad is. He did not care that we found it unacceptable.
