I wanted to visit this place since it was mentioned in the March Hong Kong TimeOut beer bar special. The beer didn't disappoint: they have a selection of good beers on tap that apart from the usuals (Carlsberg, Hoegaarden etc.) also include some unusual British beers such as Fursty Ferret from Dorset and Brains Welsh Stout. They also have an extensive range of bottle beers and Rekorderling Cider from Sweden, as well as British & Irish ciders. The food menu is also extensive, offering a cross section of Western/ Tex-Mex/ U.S & British style food and pizzas. We (2 people) ordered a double cheese burger with fries as well as salmon with vegetables in caper sauce and fries. The cheese burger was medium as ordered and the fries were large fresh potato fries, very hot and crispy. The salmon steak was a bit on the small side but the veggies and fries were tasty. Overall the food quality was good but the fact that the main courses arrived 20 minutes apart detracted from the meal, given that each of us was effectively dining alone. Overall the service was friendly once you managed to get somebody's attention in the busy restaurant/ bar. Some of the staff however didn't seem to speak any English. The restaurant/ bar is quite large with multiple TV's showing soccer matches, billiard tables, dart machines and table football. I felt the place was struggling to define a concept and trying to be "all things to all men" offering a menu that could be cut down and a cacophony of different soccer games on differnt screens, occassionally interrupted by music and a group of singing ex-pats in one corner. It can be difficult to get a place to sit (tables or rounded bar corners) without a reservation but we came before 8pm and were lucky to get a table. Service was quick and the selection of German beers from Pils to Koestrizer dark beer to Weizen wheat beer is very good. Each beer was a little underfilled, likely caused by not letting it settle for a minute after pouring before topping it up and sending it out. That's a little irritating but only a little. We ordered a mixed cheese and cold cuts plate for starters and for mains cordon bleu (chicken breast with slices of ham and cheese, together in bread crumbs and deep fried) and Rollbraten (a rolled piece of steak filled with veggies and some bacon, baked in the oven, with red cabbage and potato dumplings). Unfortunately the starter and main courses came at the same time which is very un-German. You should have time to enjoy your starter before the main courses arrive. The bread basket arrived after the starter and main courses arrived which is even more odd. The bread tastedl like it had been cut an hour or two before since it was dry on both sides. The bread should taste freshly cut. Despite the bad timing the main courses were very very good. The Rollbraten (steak) was tender and the sauce rich. The cordon bleu was also as good as in Germany. Being European and having lived in Germany for many years I can confirm the food is genuine. My non-European (HK) companion wasn't so impressed by the food. Overall I quite liked the Biergarten but would recommend the staff are better trained in German eating habits to make the experience more genuine. I noticed at the table next to me that their questions about the menu couldn't be answered by the waitress. This should also belong to basic training. Although we left before 9pm the bathrooms were already in a dismal state. Doesn't anybody check them from time to time? Deducting points for hygiene.…查看更多

The menu includes North and South Indian dishes including Bayranis, Madras curries and Vindaloo dishes. The Vindaloo chicken was hot and spicy as derired and the chicken was soft and tasty. The food is aromatic and well spiced with both mild and spicy dishes on offer, a cut above standard HK Indian restaurants. The location at Tung Chung Fort has a nice, simple village atmosphere. …查看更多
