I like to go to Limehouse for its reasonably good (despite not so authentic) English food. However, this time I've had a terrible experience. I went for lunch with 4 friends, we sat down at 12:45. We ordered right away and the food couldn't arrive until 1:25. It's nothing fancy either, just a "pick 1 out of 3" set lunch. I don't know what the big issue was, nor did the waiter offer *any* explanation or apology. That got me very upset, at least tell me why it took so long! Food itself, the selections of the day were not inspiring: a) Chicken Burger, b) Pork Cutlet, c) Pasta. The reknown Fish and Chips was not on the menu, nor was there any resemblance to English food at all in any of the above. I ordered the cutlet. While the pork was juicy on the inside, the portion wasn't right. I would say it's larger than a morning pork cutlet from a local "cha chan ten", but definitely not enough as a standalone lunch. Oh, and there's no choice on appetizer, a cream soup that tastes straight out of a campbell can was it. Overall I'm terribly disappointed, given previously I quite liked this place. I'm a frequent customer of Tony Wong and I love their cakes. The taste is undoubtedly great and it is definitely not the reason I'm angry with this shop. I'm angry about their customer service. Here's my story:I called a Thursday afternoon to order a 2lb strawberry cake for my cousin's one year old birthday. I had some tailor requirements so I had to custom-make the cake. When I've given almost all the instruction to the lady on the phone, the line got cut off. I tried to call them back and no one answered. I tried and tried again, for the next 36 hours. Yes, that's one day and a half. The line was either busy or unanswered. I got to the point of panic because it was already Saturday and the birthday party was in one day. I even called their Wanchai shop but that line goes straight to voice mail! I decided to make a 45 minutes drive to the shop to place the order in person. When I got to there, the shop was filled with customers like always, and when I complained that they're always unreachable on the phone, the girl merely said that they might have been too busy. Too busy to answer one phone call within one day and a half? I was really pissed off about this and I didn't think this girl knows the severity of their problem. They are ignoring customers' phone calls. If they think they have enough to do on their hand they should simply tell people they don't take phone orders. But ignoring the phone is just terrible service. I have NEVER had to make a 45 minutes trip just to order a cake. If Mr Tony Wong is reading this, please, please do something about your customer service. Your cakes are great and they will keep the customers coming back, but don't let your staff jeopardize your otherwise perfect reputation. …查看更多

I walked into this famous michelin star dim-sum shop in the mezzanine level of the MTR Hong Kong Station (I refuse to say that this shop is in the IFC) at 11:15am and there were empty seats. Rumor has it that this shop is supposed to be amazing. I ordered their beef and fried egg rice ($25), and a fried cabbage cake ($17).The beef and fried egg rice was ok. As in not good, not bad. very so-so. The beef was soft and moist which was obviously good, and the egg was done well with the yolk in liquid form ready to spill out. The rice, however, was stiff and tasteless. I would normally give this a 7 out of 10 but given the fame of this shop, my expectation was clearly missed.The fried cabbage cake was terrible. I already gave the shop a lot of credit for putting lots of cabbage into making this thing, but the frying was done in the worst way possible. It needed more time on the frying pan as the end product was flimsy and ready to fall apart. I literally couldn't pick it up with my chopsticks. I would give it a 5 out of 10, all 5 points for the taste.The service was a disappointment too. I was asked to move to a different table when i was nearly done with my entire meal and the waitress even approached me when i had my mouth full of rice. I was very shocked to be asked to move when I clearly would be finishing and leaving within 5 minutes. I even joked and asked if she was serious. This shop originated from Central and they only just opened their Shatin shop. Their central shop is a cozy little restaurant while their Shatin shop sports a totally different vibe! It's bright and spacious, feels slightly similar to Pokka Cafe. The food here is very good. I'm ashamed to say I've yet to try their Central shop but this Shatin one is truly remarkable. I ordered the special "Shatin burger set". The burger came in their homemade croissant-texture bun, with bacon, fried egg, and of course a patty. The set also comes with a small salad, fries, and a coffee. It's a discounted $70 until Nov 30, and afterwards $108. The salad is fresh enough and the dressing is very nice. It's one of those typical japanese vinaigrette, but this one is clearly homemade and just tastes a lot better.The fries is neglectible. The burger is great. The bun is their authentic homemade "croissant-textured" bun, and the fried egg, bacon, and patty were done just right. Given the high quality of the meat, it's amazing to say that this is the first time ever that I've enjoyed the bread of a burger more than the meat. I usually throw away the last bite of a burger after I've ate all the meat, but this time, the last bite is the best! The bread is soooooo good.The coffee is very standard, but I must say it tastes better than most japanese-style western restaurant's. My bill came up $77 after service charge, and after paying I walked over to their bread counter and bought a 2-slices pack of their authentic bread ($19), a custard-filled bread cube ($18), and a red bean filled bread cube ($18). Moving into Tai Wai for almost half a year and I've always felt that this neighborhood has no good food. Then today I went and tried 漢年茶餐廳 and it's so good! The famous 鹽焗雞飯炒底 is as good as what people said on previous reviews. The chicken tasted great and was tender, and the fried rice was just right! (wasn't too dry or too salty.) I've been a frequent customer of Slices when I lived in Tin Hau, but after moving to Tai Wai this is my first visit in 3 months. I'm disappointed by the taste of the pizza. I had their 4-cheese pizza, and it didn't taste like it had four different kinds of cheese, as in there's no complex cheesy taste at all. I feel that the pizza has gone from good to mundane, compared to when this shop first opened. It was comparable to Paisano's before, now it isn't even close. I'm also surprised they decided to come out with a pretty bizarre looking dessert pizza called Banana Nutella Dessert Pizza. Personally, I love Nutella. But I just think this dessert is weird and out of place. The price is definitely not cheap too so I will wait till someone tries it out for a taste review. (no i'm not paying the $75.) Finally, I'm also a bit frustrated after coming home and reading the Openrice reviews and find out that I can get a pizza and a drink for $19 on GroupBuy, while I paid $48 today essentially the same thing.
