From Scratch is a relatively new cafe in Sai Ying Pun, nicely decorated with various cactus, dried flowers and lights.Cute menu.The Steak & Ale Pie might look ordinary at first, but it tasted absolutely fantastic! The pastry was flakey and fluffy, and the stuffing inside was gorgeous! Pieces of steak soaked with delicious broth. Located in Kowloon City, where the former Kai Tak Airport was, KT Coffee is a cafe with an airport theme.This “boarding gate” at the entrance just came in time for Hong Kongers, who are home-bounded for 2+ years during COVID.The cafe owner definitely spent some time in decorating KT Coffee!This snack portion of Fish n Chips is huge! More than enough for dinner actually! Very reasonably priced also. And they were so yummy too! The fish tasted quite fresh even it’s deep fried. And the seasoned fries were absolutely amazing!This was my first time seeing an Earl Grey Dirty on menu, and I highly recommend you to give it a try! Newly opened in Yue Man Square (facing Hip Wo Street though, so it’s not really inside the shopping mall), Coffee or Tea is a very interesting cafe in Kwun Tong. It not only serves traditional local cha chaan teng food (e.g. soup dishes with instant noodles and macaroni), but also very special cafe food.I decided to try this Corned Beef Ciabatta with Egg, as it looks very interesting on the menu, and it surprised me in a really nice way! The orange ping-pong balls looking things are very creamy and delicious egg yolk. So enjoyable to eat on its own, or mix it with the open sandwich. The fluffy egg white made a very beautiful and great spread! And the corned beef underneath? As good as always! The whole open sandwich was so satisfying and enjoyable indeed! A bit away from bustle and hustle of Tai Nan Street, HaaHim is a pet-friendly cafe with nice wooden furniture. I had a few glimpse of the shop cat and secretly wished to play with him/her!This lunch set was quite worth it with a nice salad and little piece of cake roll. The smoked salmon salad with sesame dressing was so refreshing, a great appetizer indeed.The beef don itself was very enjoyable. Beef was pleasantly cooked and seasoned with shichimi. All the sides were very delicious too - the fresh cucumbers and perfectly cooked shredded onion. Black Window is my favourite vegetarian restaurant on the Kowloon side.My cousin and I made a reservation for Christmas lunch, so we were able to get a table easily. Lucky us!We ordered a ravioli and veggie meatloaf to share, as well as pumpkin soup and a vegetarian eggnog for me. Everything tasted so splendid and we love them dearly!The raviolis were quite big indeed, filled with delicious veggies and big, juicy mushrooms. The garlicky seasoning was superb! We couldn’t stop digging in until we finished all the raviolis and mushroom.The meatloaf and mash were superb too! I really love this kind of mash as there were chunks of potato in it! Very creamy and smooth mash indeed. The meatloaf? Oh-so-good and filling! The gravy did its magic to make it even more delicious too!The pumpkin soup was a very fine one, with the help of apple, it’s very sweet and refreshing.The eggnog? Oh well, you know they are never a super tasty drink, just a must have for Christmas. I am sure Black Window did their best and this eggnog was very enjoyable with the cream cap and cinnamon powder. Away from the hustle and bustle in Mong Kok, Little Idea offers a quiet and cozy place for you to chill with a very decent piece of cake and drinks.Chiffon cake at Little Idea is always so airy and spongy. The taro paste was rightly sweetened. The cheesy cream on top just topped up the flavour of the whole cake. A very filling and satisfying piece of cake indeed.The Cream Soda Tea was quite unique, in which you can taste a hint of cream soda in your green tea. Amazing! After a quick hike to Reservoir Islands Viewpoint at Tai Lam Chung Reservoir, a visit to One Third was just right for refueling with a nice jungle x concrete environment.Coffee here is so lit! The iced latte is so smooth, and the coffee is quite strong and aromatic! Yuenyeung here is quite special, as it is served without milk, more like a fruity iced black, very enjoyable and refreshing indeed.The portion of food here is not big, just right for an afternoon tea. The homemade sourdough toast was so delicious! Generous portion of smoked salmon. Pickled onion was very tasty too. Highly recommend you to add the sausage, which is so meaty and juicy!This combination of sourdough toast was so good! The tender chicken pieces were perfectly marinated with miso. Located next to Lai Chi Kok MTR exit, Posh Coffee Club is a takeaway coffee stand with some seating area.Bagels served here are quite special, they don’t have a hole in the middle, they are more like buns filled with chocolate/tea flavored “lava”. This time, my cousin and I were genuinely surprised by the coziness of environment and quality of food in Chroma Cafe.For a 9-dish lunch set with a drink, it’s only HKD$75! Very generous portion and high quality of food, no complain at all! uen cafeteria has been on my to try list for so long, and I finally got to try it out before heading to see an exhibition in Artistree.I ordered a Strawberry Cream Sandwich with a cup of Teapigs Apple & Cinnamon Tea as afternoon tea for dine-in. The portion of the sandwich was smaller than expected. Nevertheless, it’s oh-so-good! Fresh cream with strawberry from Japan. I just couldn’t stop eating it! The strawberry was very juicy and sweet!I also ordered a Soft Shell Crab with Crab Stick Salad Toast for take away. It was a great decision! Upon reheating with oven, the soft shell crab was crunchy and meaty. The coleslaw like salad and dressing made the whole sandwich very enjoyable and filling! I have a feeling that Cheung Sha Wan might be the next battlefield for cafes after Sham Shui Po. Newly established in Cheung Sha Wan, Lumière is a cafe that excels in creating a cozy and zen environment with the use of lights, woods and furniture. An afternoon tea here definitely serene our souls.The iced latte was very enjoyable with aromatic coffee and smooth milk. But what gave us a nice surprise was the mocktail Strawberry Colada with strawberry, pineapple, half & half (cream/milk). The strawberry and pineapple made a surprisingly refreshing flavour. The cream and milk made the whole mocktail very decent to drink.The carrot cake was very standard with a strong, nice carrot flavour; in a moist and dense texture.The strip of quotes served with the drinks are quite heart-warming. There aren’t many food choice in West Kowloon cultural district, especially during weekend when all the cafes and restaurants are flooded with people and dogs. A little walk to Jordan brought us to GOOF, which is a better alternative.Food in GOOF was better than expected. The Tempura Soft-Shell Crab Scrambled Egg Toast got a massive, freshly fried meaty soft-shell crab on smooth runny egg, which was placed on the buttered toast. The whole delicious open toast was easy to enjoy with fork and knife, and I was so glad that I didn’t make a mess!The Cheesy Corn Ribs were oh-so-good too! Seasoned with shredded cheese and chili powder, I just couldn’t stop digging in!Drinks were amazing too! Relatively new in Tsim Sha Tsui, B’hood is a cafe by day/bar by night kind of restaurant. I was amazed by their quality of food and coffee, and would really like to visit again for their splendid cocktail drinks at night.The Crab Meat Omelette Frittata I ordered was so delightful! COFF coffee shop is a relatively new cafe in Starstreet precinct, famous for its homemade ice cream. Thanks to a warm winter afternoon, I got to try out their ice cream with a cup of coffee.This small scoop of Cream Cheese ice cream is definitely a gem! It’s so rich in cheese flavour, yet so soft and smooth. The crumbs were so enjoyable too, adding more flaour and texture to the dessert.
