I come here about once a week for a late lunch. My favorite is their Ali Bowl, which consists of salmon, avocado, carrot, potatoes, corn, kidney beans and salad. You can choose a base of salad or rice. The dressing is homemade. The set comes with a drink and a small soup or side salad. You can customize to have less dressing or less rice. I also love their onion rings as they make them perfectly crispy. The people are kind and friendly. They answer your questions with patience. We arrived around 11:45am on a Sunday. The shop was full and a queue had already formed outside with about 10+ people. We decided to do something else and returned before 2:00pm. The wait for the table was a little over 30mins. Both of us wanted to try the congee eel tempura, so we each ordered the Edomae bento. The tempura rice was served with miso soup, a small side dish of ginger and pickled vegetable. Food looked great when it arrived (probably due to the size of the congee eel) and the plating was pretty, but overall it was greasier than I expected as I’ve definitely had tempura that was light and crunchy without being greasy. My favorites were the soft boiled egg and snow pea tempura. Unfortunately the rest was too oily and heavy for me. The rice was served in a tall, shallow bowl topped with a good portion of tempura. Although the actual bowl was shallow, there was definitely enough rice. I actually couldn’t finish my portion. Overall, it was ok.
