I walked by a new waffle shop in Causeway Bay and when the door opened, it smelled fantastic.Located behind Times Square, near The Cofffee Academics, is a super small shop serving waffles. The location is often an area of Causeway Bay that is overlooked as there really isn't much there and is near Ngo Keng Kiu. The location is often an area of Causeway Bay that is overlooked as there really isn't much there and is near Ngo Keng Kiu. Though small, new and in a location not many walk by, it was packed with people.
The shop is small. There are a few seats and a counter on one end that is very cramped for anyone that wants to sit in. On the other side is where the waffle making happens along with where you order.
Menu is in both English and Chinese. They have regular waffles, waffles with filling and waffles with ice cream. You can even order a cofffee and have it as a set.
Belgium Pear Waffle ($29). As I couldn't find a seat, I decided to have it as take away and ordered a Belgium Pear waffle. The waffle was made to order and I waited 10 minutes for it to be made. Take away was placed in a white envelope for easy eating and a napkin was given to me.
The waffle was soft with a few crispy edges. But there was so much filling. The entire waffle was filled with so much pear, it almost burst. That is probably why it wasn't all crispy and more soft than most other waffle places. As it was made to order, it was steaming hot. The pears were soft and sweet. I have to say ... this was better than Waffills, the more famous waffle place in Causeway Bay.
