This is my first visit to New York Cafe for about 2 years. I really loved their open steak sandwich and when I saw it on the lunch menu again I had to order it. However I was disappointed at the quality of the steak used for the dish.  It seems to be tenderized chuck or rump steak. It was overcooked, tough and chewy. The onion rings and potato wedges were nice but it's not that hard to get those right as they are deep fried. I know the price of beef has gone up from 2 years ago but I'd rather pa

However I was disappointed at the quality of the steak used for the dish.  It seems to be tenderized chuck or rump steak. It was overcooked, tough and chewy. The onion rings and potato wedges were nice but it's not that hard to get those right as they are deep fried. 

I know the price of beef has gone up from 2 years ago but I'd rather pay a little bit more money for a better cut of meat for this classic dish than have substandard beef.
