Reason for visiting:My friend M finished her nightshift so we went for breakfast. Environment & Hygiene:The place looked quite unkept and rundown. Environment & Hygiene:
The place looked quite unkept and rundown. The seats had holes in them and the paint on the walls were peeling off. There wasn't much decor to admire, but hygiene seemed okay, although the place looked old, it was clean looking.
Taste & Value:Since both of us wanted to try the eggs benedict and pancakes, we ordered to share.
What we ordered:
1. The Ultimate Griddle ($91) with a small Lychee juice. This ultimate dish appeared to be a party on a plate. However, most were very disappointing.
a) Scrambled eggs- fluffy but tasteless
b) Ham- hard and salty
c) Sasuage- dry and the thyme or whatever spice used was overpowering
d) Pancake- overly soft and sweet
e) Waffle- cold, hard and dry without any syrup
f+ g) The best things on the plate were the french toast and bacon.The french toast was actually good and met my epxectation. Then, as for the bacon, you can't really go wrong with it so..
h) Lychee juice- too sweet
I didn't like that there was so much icing sugar on the waffle, pancake and french toast because of how sweet it made them. They were already too sweet before I used the blueberry and maple syrup.
2. Egg Houssard ($55) We decided not to go with the usual ham,bacon or smoked salmon and went with steak! Ha, of course the beef was a bit tough, and was soso. My friend thought that the sauce was too buttery and I thought that it was too lemony. Having said that, this dish was still better than the above dish.
3. Peanubutter milkshake ($44)- This was probably the most enjoyable item we ordered. We could taste that they used actual peanuts in the drink, but even though we shared it , towards the end, it was just way too sweet and heavy.
Service:The service was no better than the food they offered. It took forever for someone to stop by and when someone finally did, they weren't too friendly.
Final verdict:
There was nothing enjoyable about this restaurant.
