A weekday high tea with my friend, we arrived 2:45pm but already full house outdoor. Indoor only left 4 more tables & the Sofa wasn’t at that comfortable because dining table is lower than the Sofa very much, not really convenient on our sitting level. Indoor decoration and environment are gorgeous, with lots of fresh flowers and a light music. The sunshine come through to the window and feel very relax and holiday mood. Signature tea set for two ($7xx + 10% include normal coffee or tea) – Perhaps I did come here before, it was 2 years ago and I remember last time I felt all food and taste were super nice. This time, I feel it’s under my expectation. First of all, the tuna sandwich, the crap meat sandwich, the salmon with mini toast, the spring rolls, all were same as what I had 2 years ago. Same thing same stuff which I expected and assumed no problem or something to surprise me this time. However, taste was even worse than I tried two years ago. I am so shocked….. might be I expected too much, my friend told me the price is very expensive which doesn’t matter, but expected food is more luxury or be well prepared, food was not hot enough, not luxury enough, portion is not big enough (those were her comments). I feel so sorry to take my friend who is seldom to try afternoon tea, oh gosh.
Bad comments:
-Spring roll was not crispy and cold
-Beef burger and crap burger
-Tuna and crap meat sandwiches, bread was too wet. Maybe leave it too long time or prepared for few hours but not appropriate store
-Mushroom cracker- cracker is not crispy
-Rainbow cake – cream is ok but my friend said it taste like Maxim cake… oh dear…
-Vanilla cream with jelly cup – it looks really cheap and cost really not reflect to the environment and price
The thing i like most is not food but i think the heart of design artwork for the small catering stuff such as table serving paper, tea pot, idea of the restaurant in overall atmosphere. This is really great.
Staff overall is friendly, but a bit cool (not smile at all).
The food really needs to be improved and hope next 2 years if I try again, will bring me some positive comments. Still looking forward to this improvement!
