I have been back for dinner twice in one month. The restaurant is not busy but it should be given the quality and value. Guest can choose any of the dishes in the a la carte menu and make them a 2 or 3-course meal (served in their original portions still), plus amuse bouche. In my view, the chefs marry what Asian taste buds like to Western cooking - the use of sauces that have complex/distinctive tastes. The menus were different each time I was there and they were (are still) featuring a hairy crab special menu lately. The seaweed salted butter for the bread basket was addictive.
Most memorable dishes: lobster & carrot soup which the sweetness of the carrot created a delightful surprise to the predictable roasted shell taste of a lobster soup. The signature miso toothfish came with a fluffy dollop of creamy Japanese white miso. The dollop deflated when you poked through it. The fish was oily like a cod. This dish was slightly sweeter than I preferred but still good because the miso was very prominent. The ginger & honey pork chop was grilled to “pink” yet still fully cooked (good job, chef). It reminds me of “char siu” Chinese BBQ pork. It was juicy and tender with the right amount of fat. The steak and the duck were excellent! Not recommending the mahi mahi with curry foam though because it was slightly bland and over cooked.
This place is know for desserts also. The mango and hazelnut mille-feuille is their signature.
