For a place that charges over HK$100 per person, the customer service was terrible. The food itself was alright. I had heard not-so-good reviews about this place, saying it was overpriced and the staff were mostly rude.A group of friends and I ate here for lunch. For a place that charges over HK$100 per person, the customer service was terrible. The food itself was alright. I had heard not-so-good reviews about this place, saying it was overpriced and the staff were mostly rude.

A group of friends and I ate here for lunch. We booked ahead of time, so we didn't have to line up. We weren't given any water until towards the end of the meal, which is also when the terrible standard of service really shone through.

The bill came and none of us had exact change for our own share of the bill - most of us had HK$200 (2 x HK$100 bills) for a HK$1XX/person charge. As such, we pooled in more money than necessary to settle the bill. When the waiter came to collect it, we asked if they could give us looser change (e.g. HK$10 or HK$20). They said they couldn't because 'banks are closed on Sundays', 'they don't have enough small change' and were 'afraid there wouldn't be enough change to last them throughout the rest of the day'.

We were surprised by their explanation, and were thinking 'O... K...... so what are we supposed to do then....?' and the staff member said: 'It's not our responsibility' in a really rude, aloof, 'shrug-it-off' way. We then said: '... the service here is quite poorly then....'. In the same rude, aloof manner, she replied saying: 'Maybe it is' and just walked off.


We then asked to see the branch manager. He came over and we explained what had happened, and he repeated the 'we don't have enough change, banks are closed' explanation. We said we weren't as bothered by the explanation as we were by the attitude the rude staff member. We asked for either an apology or for their name to make a formal complaint to the headquarters. The branch manager was extremely reluctant to give their name, and suggested to ask the rude staff member to make an apology.

When that rude staff member eventually came over, she said, 'How can I help you?' as if she wasn't aware that we were demanding an apology. We then asked for her name to make a formal complaint to headquarters. She gave it loud and proud, in a 'bite me, I dare you' kind of way and walked off again.

Seriously? If this was a little stall on the side of a street or a 茶餐廳 I honestly wouldn't have cared enough to set up an Openrice account to write this review.
