Had a sudden ramen crave today and came to this place which is just right next to my office. My colleague and I had always wanted to try this place as the decor looks pretty much like an authentic Japanese ramen place. We came here at around 8 and was lucky enough to secure a table. The most famous dish they serve will definitely be the 'Poke Clam Chowder noodle + truffle oil' and we also ordered the 'go to helll', which is basically the spicy ramen. The most famous dish they serve will definitely be the 'Poke Clam Chowder noodle + truffle oil' and we also ordered the 'go to helll', which is basically the spicy ramen. Other than that, we also ordered the pan fried pork belly and fried vegetables.
Along with the ramen, we also ordered some drinks to go with it. I, a light drinker, ordered the Horoyoi umeshu sour - one of my favorite drinks in Japan and Kaku highball. I like how they offer Japanese drink to go with the ramen.
When the ramen came, the smell of truffle basically filled my nostril. Oh god, I have never thought having ramen with TRUFFLE (my favourite seasoning of all). So the clam itself was super duper soft and juicy. I was worried it may be slightly fishy but I was nothing like that. The size of the clam was also rather big. I also like how the shell would make you drink some of the truffle soup. A truly heavenly taste <3 As for the 'go to hell' the noodles was executed at the right softness - not too soft nor hard. With that texture, it makes the spiciness more bearable - if it had been too soft, the ramen gets VERY spicy. So, yeah, the ramen was quite spicy but I guess this is when the drinks come in. The iced highball had definitely offer a cool down time for my friend and the taste of the highball, well as frequent drinker would know, was also very rich in malt flavour.
Then, as for the pan fried pork belly. We were actually surprised by the generous portion it serve with only 38HKD. The pork was tender and the sauce was also exceedingly delicious. When the pork was mixed with all the seasoning and spring onion, they all blended exceedingly well together. Really a great snack to go with the ramen.
I have to say this restaurant did not disappoint me at all. I especially like the authentic decor and taste of the ramen. Everything it serves is of exceedingly high quality (with a VERY reasonable price). Well.... I LOVE THIS PLACE!!
