人和荳品廠 (English name: Yan Wo Dou Bun Chong) is a restaurant that focuses on tofu and soybean products. The place isn't fancy but the food is good and not expensive.Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge and you pay on your way out.We decided to try something we never ordered here before and that was the Tofu and Bean Curd Puff with Soy Sauce ($18). Pan Fried Tofu with Fish Mean ($18) is what we usually get. They were pan fried very well. Though a bit more thin than usual.
The fish meat was disappointing. There used to be more. Now it's just a thin spread on top. It also didn't have much fish flavor as well.
Soybean Milk with Coconut ($14, on the left) and soybean milk ($8, on the right). I always get the soymilk and as always ... very good. Rich soybean taste. The amount of sweetness was just right. Boyfriend tried the coconut combination as he hadn't done so before. He didn't like it as much. The coconut taste wasn't enough and it made the soybean taste diluted.
Tofu Fa ($14) is what we always finish with. Sweetened only with yellow sugar, the tofu fa was fantastic. Smooth and not grainy. Rich soybean flavor. And cold.
It's been a long time since we've eaten here. It seems new items were added to the menu while the classics were still there. Quality wavered a bit but it was still very good and not expensive at all.
