Butchers Club. How I love thee. Their burgers give me the most ultimate joy. So, when I passed by them one fateful December evening, I saw they sold a limited burger called The Gobbler.For $120, you can have a complete Christmas dinner all in two hands (or one if you have bigger ones). What you get is a burger with southern fried turkey escalope, maple bacon, cheddar cheese, sage, onion and sausage stuffing, house slaw, parsnip crisps and cranberry aioli. It looked good. It sounded good. So, 'tis the season for Christmas themed food and I ordered away!
This is what it looked like. It looked inviting. But the southern fried turkey wasn't crispy like it said. It was super dry. The cole slaw wasn't tangy enough. I did like the stuffing. I think that was the best part. But the worst ... the worst was the parsnip crisps. I have no idea why it was rolled in tempura batter. The thing was still raw as it was hard as a rock. Boyfriend and I both ended up taking it out. We couldn't even bite into it. It was that raw.
I didn't hate it as much as boyfriend. He really hated it. I thought it was ok but definitely over priced for the mediocre effort that was put into this burger. I guess we should only stick to the classic one. Because this one didn't hark any angels singing.
