I was too lazy to make dinner so decided to grab take out. CitySuper's CookedDeli section has a new take away counter called RF1 + Sozai. It's from Japan and can be found in certain Japanese department store grocery stores. I had one of their croquettes when I was in Nagoya a while back and they were amazing good though a bit more expensive than the other counters. Now they have set up shop here in CitySuper's counter. They have one other branch in CitySuper's IFC shop and they'll probably expand
Now they have set up shop here in CitySuper's counter. They have one other branch in CitySuper's IFC shop and they'll probably expand to the other CitySuper shops because they like to make them all the same.
They sell various Japanese type salads and rolls. Croquettes and Japanese hamburger patties. I bought one of the take away bentos which included seven different salads bites and two mini onigiri. Price? $88.
Everything tasted pretty good. The onigiri was not hard but still soft. There was no filling so it was just rice with furikake. The salads included a pasta salad, sweet potato salad, octopus salad (which was my favorite), parma ham salad, shrimp salad, Vietnamese salad roll (which isn't very good as it was a bit dry and chewy) and a burdock salad. Most everything was tasty enough. At first I wasn't sure I'd be full as everything was so mini but I was actually pretty full when I was finished. The only thing is for $88, it was pretty pricey. I don't think I'd try it again as it wasn't truely value for money.
