I never put a lot of hope in a lot of Vietnamese food in Hong Kong. The flavors are non authentic and geared for the local Hong Kong palette. Located in Tseung Kwan O, is a new mall called TKO Gateway. Well, at least new to me as I'm not completely familiar with this area so I haven't discovered this mall before. There was a decent line and I thought ... why not give it a try. Obviously the people who live in this are are eating here. So, it can't be that bad. So, boyfriend, his mother, sister and I came here for dinner after a day of shopping.
A nicely designed place, reminiscent of Teawood, it had a comfortable cafe feel. Menu is in English and Chinese. They do have sets but none of us were interested in most of the items on offer so we went a la carte.
Prawn Cakes ($58). Not oily at all but they was no taste of shrimp. It just tasted like a lot of flour. It had an odd gummy taste.
