Before I jump into any food review, I just want to truly appreciate how friendly and heartwarming the staff are. On the day that I visited the restaurant, there was a little girl being sick sitting on the chair in front of the restaurant, while the girl's mum kindly asked if they can go inside and borrow the washroom, the staff were caring and allowed both to clean themselves up using their washroom. Having said that, the restaurant is not just simly a place to serve food for customers but truly care about "PEOPLE". Throughout the whole dining experience, we were served with care and passion.
Herbs griled tiger prawn and spicy tomato linguine ($168)
Again, this dish is good for those who likes rich and strong taste. The risotto was slightly over-cooked to my liking and the roasted half chicken is topped with roasted garlic powder that blended nicely with the meat. Portion was also very generous and we weren't able to finish it at the end.
Desserts are probably the highlight of the restaurant. Some of the desserts are partly pre-made. This coffee flavoured panna cotta is topped with sweetened coffee jelly cubes, fresh cream, crushed peanuts and a crisp. The panna cotta was very smooth, complimented nicely with the sweet jello.
The Uji matcha special contains a cup of hot matcha milk, matcha soft serve ice cream, and a matcha red bean cream roll.
The matcha red bean cream roll was okay althought the red bean flavour was overpowered by the matcha. The cake itself wasn't too moist compared to other shops.
The matcha milk was light and fluffy with lots of foam, a great treat for winter time.
The matcha soft serve was very smooth and silky, much softer and richer than many other chain stores. There was no big ice chunks in the ice cream.
p.s. try to mix the ice cream with the milk to make a affogato superb match!
For $68, it's a great bargain to try 3 different sweet treats and we highly recommend you to try this.
The tea uses yuzu mix and rose petals. It was a refreshing warm tea for anyone. It was a bit sweet yet not too sweet. A great choice of drink after a big meal like us
If you know me well enough, you would know I am a big fan of peanut butter. I am probably willing to try any peanut butter item on the menu. This drink is more like a milkshake in texture, yet there is no ice cream in it. It was rich and thick since it was freshly blended using bananas. This combination can never fail, every note speaks for itself and tries to stand out. The peanut butter flavour was the most outspoken flavour, which absolutely suit my liking. (Maybe not for those who don't like nuts or think drinks)
