It was a weekend and I was searching for food before going to the cinema. I was walking subconsciously and stopped in front of Hainan south. It wasn't my first time visiting. The eel is not fishy, soft and almost no bone. The sauce, a thick soy sauce with hint of sweet aftertaste, is quite matched with the eel. However, the sauce itself is a bit salty and really tneed ot have quite a few mulful of rice to balance the saltiness.
Served with sticky rice does add a bit of texture and flavouring to the overall dish but the rice is still on the hard side. althought the eel is not bad, but i taste much tastier eel in HK and Japan.... but hey~ $68 with a good touch on palate, defo worth a visit!!
