Menu served less dimsum/ dumplings while more on stir fry and cha chaan ting food. A bit odd to see local food in a shanghai restaurant.
We ordered a bow of chicken vegetables noodle and a shanghai stir fry noodle from the afternoon tea set.
Shanghai stir fry food came first. Relatively smaller than before. Visually, they offered much more variety of vegetables; dark colour as it should be. Sadly, it was pretty bland. We drizzled some chilli oil for a kick and a lift of flavour. Noodle was alright, not as al dante as before.
Chicken vegetable noodle waa again smaller than I was expecting. Noodle was in pieces that was difficult to pick up by chopsticks. Spoon and chopsticks help throughout the catering. Chicken pieces were only few. Appreciate they offered lean ones.
The dining experience wasn't as pleasant as before. The table behind requested some kind of fried egg dish with rice, ending up serving burnt egg that needed to be replaced but the customer decided to eat another dish instead. The table at front was hoping for some dimsum/dumplings which offered before as a light afternoon tea while the staff suggested to either eat the main fried noodle dish or the cha chaan tiny style sandwich. The customer then questioned coming all the way from far for another starch which just had rice dish somewhere; and the purpose of coming was eating shanghai dimsum/dumplings but not chan chaan ting food that can be eaten anywhere.
It was a pity to see the good old restaurant changed.
