Ordered a strawberry tart of 480g at a price of $390 for celebration. When we saw the tart, we were so surprised by the numerous and nicely placed strawberries on top! Strawberry Tart (Almond shortbread, strawberry jelly, sponge cake, red fruit cream, vanilla pastry cream, pistachios, strawberries)
The tart smelt so good when served. The strawberries were all very fresh but unfortunately not sweet enough. The almond shortbread was very crunchy. The layer of sponge cake seemed to be very thin because I couldn't really find it. The combo of a very thin layer of strawberry jelly, red fruit cream and vanilla pastry cream wasn't too sweet at all. In fact, I would say it was a little bit not sweet enough. There were loads of pistachio sprinkles on top but the flavour was lacking. Overall, a very lovely tart for photo-taking but I had expected more for the texture.
It said the portion should be for 10 persons but I think it was just enough for 6-8 persons.
The box of the cake was very pretty with the logo of the Peninsula being everywhere and so many of my colleagues stared at it when they saw me carrying such a box home.
