Kowloon City is a district known for their Thai cuisine, thus many people might not be aware that it is a hidden gem for other cuisines too such as Japanese, Indian and pastry etc. Everyone is on holiday mode since it was nearing year end, thus few colleagues & i decided to pamper ourselves abit to end off the year with aplomb. Everyone is on holiday mode since it was nearing year end, thus few colleagues & i decided to pamper ourselves abit to end off the year with aplomb. My colleague brought us over to this place since he had positive experience previously. The restuarant was located abit off from the hot spot and it took us awhile to locate it.
Shop area is not small by Hong Kong standard, able to accomodate 50 people. It was renovated in traditional Japanese theme.
I am surprised that even for their lunch set, it was very extensive. They offer many varieties of lunch set for diners to choose from. For drink menu, they have sake & liquor etc.
A cup of complimentary warm green tea was served once we were seated. It helps to wash off those food that i have eaten in the morning. Normally, i don't order alcohol in the day, but since it was festive season, i just go along with the flow. I order a glass of plum liquor to start off. It is a Japanese liquor made from steeping ume fruits in alcohol and sugar. It taste sweet and sour, easy to drink as it only has alcohol content of 14%.
For my meal, i ordered sakura shrimp fried rice with egg white set. It comes with salad, miso soup and a plate of cold dish. This dish is very simple, yet delicious. It used only few ingredients such as egg white, rice & shrimp. Shrimp was very crunchy and flavourful. By cooking it with egg white, it made the rice very smooth and tasty.
Skewed cherry tomatoes with bacon was very flavourful, yet juicy aided by the cherry tomatoes. It was a good combination. Skewed pork with onion was abit tough. I do not know if it was being cooked too long or me leaving it on the plate for too long.
Chicken meat with soft bone with cheese - Chicken meat and soft bone was marinated in sea salt, thus it was very tasty and soft. With cheese adding to it, it increases the level of savoury to another level.
Matcha green tea ice cream was part of the set. It was not overly sweet, ending off the meal in a good way.
