We were enticed to go to Eiffel Bistro in our neighborhood when we saw the 2 for 1 main Tuesday promotion at Chope for my sister's birthday dinner. This Parisian bistro was very pretty. We liked the ambience and the shimmering candle lights. It was very cozy with hanging mirror menu and picture frames. The menu looked simple but proved to be effective. It had most French signature dishes. We shared the starters and soup and had our individual main course. The food was truly better than expected and presented appealingly.
To start off, the Tuna Tartare with Soya Sauce & Coriander Dressing was yummy with crisp leaves.
I tried a spoonful of mom's Onion Soup with Croutons & Emmental Cheese and it was rich and gratifying.
The Burgundy Snails in Garlic & Parsley Butter was yummy too. We loved the condiments and polished it all off.
Onto our mains, Dad and sis had Tenderloin Steak, me Roasted Halibut and mom Sole Meunière.
When dad ordered his steak medium-well, the server advised us to have it medium, mindful of roasting the beef too long and making it tough. We were worried about the beef quality but the medium steak was tender and juicy in its natural sauce.
I enjoyed my Roasted Halibut. The presentation was really pretty on a long black slab with a lot of cherry tomatoes artfully arranged.
Likewise, the sauce on the Sole Meunière was yummy but we had to be careful of the tiny bones.
We were surprised that we each had a complimentary dessert, Raspberry Cake with Pistachio which looked nice and sweet. We finished it even though we had a birthday cake waiting at home.
Food was fresh and tasty and service was good. Indeed, we will be back.
