My favorite place for a feel-good quick fix. Love the high ceiling, the woodiness and earthiness that the crude dark wood decor emanates, the sangria, and how packed the main dining area is. There's this small cockloft I have yet to try out. I think it fits about 4. Right there on the top right corner: Environmentimmed lights for dinner - great. Peeved. Friend arrived late (as usual, but I forgive you because it is your day, you da boss, and you have been making significant improvements these years) and the staff kept asking whether I could order yet. Dude can you not see that my guest hasn't arrived.
Didn't order a lot because we were heading off somewhere else for a bigger semi-buffet dessert thing afterwards and I didn't want to stuff us. The staff looked impatient and kept asking whether we would be ordering more food. =/ Food:
B shake - carob powder, cashews, banana, organic soy milk $42
J ordered this. Love for smoothies and all sweet drinks. I had a few sips because it was yummy. You can taste the subtle nuttiness and also the distinct banana flavour. Nuts and bananas. Do chimps eat nuts...?
Sangria $
I remembered loving the sangria here when I had it 3 years ago with lunch. Still do. Very sweet, much sweeter than the one at Fandango, and I liked it. Extremely juicy and there's also some diced fruits to chew on. You can still tell it's an alcoholic beverage.
Tea Smoked Eggplant Dip with roasted peppers, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, fresh lemon and thyme served with hand made spiced pita chips[vegan]
Very delicious appetizer. Eggplant dip, to me, is more economical in terms of caloric value than hummus, which I equally love. But there would be hummus already in our salad so we went for this. It was almost as thick as hummus. The smokiness gave it a terrific flavour. Matching it with crisp, crunchy, hand-cut pita chips was the appropriate choice. The chips were very thick-cut as far as chips are concerned, around 2-3mm. I think they are an excellent vehicle to carry the eggplant dip. Would certainly go for this again! Signature Life salad - Life mixed baby greens, grated carrot & beetroot, sprouted mung beans, organic chickpea hummus, mixed nuts and seeds, nutritional yeast, fresh herb dressing and Life organic flaxseed crackers [Gluten free, vegan]
Again, a very exciting salad because of the many different ingredients - ingredients that you don't easily find in a salad put together in HK. I love how one can never get bored eating this salad because there's always another territory you can invade when you've bored yourself with one. Those flaxseed crackers were delicious. An even healthier alternative to potato chips than baked doritos (hehee). They sell these handy snacks downstairs too. If you want a healthy, satisfying dinner this signature salad is the thing to turn to. Mind you its' not very light, in fact it's quite substantial, but when you recall, ah I've been stuffed with organic veg and not with meat you feel less guilty of the deep satisfaction. Conclusion:
Will come back again JUST for the signature salad hehee. And the mushroom pizza which is amazeballs as well.
